- In this video, I discuss the process of how I painted this JZX100 body using my Iwata HP-CS airbrush and Createx Candy 2.0 paints. I was going to paint this body with Tamiya spray cans, but after thinking about it, I figured it was best to try and use my airbrush and do something more exciting.
Thanks to Alex Bronowicki for the edit IG handle @OGAlexBro
Here is the list of products used. I may have called them out wrong in the video.

Lol! That window mask struggle is real!!! 10/10 can relate.
It was so old and ultra tacky. Next time if I get a body with masking tape, I will use vinyl application tape instead.
Fantastic job 😎💯👍👍
When you said la’me flake I thought of that line from Joe dirt😭😂
“Don’t try to church it up now!”
Seriously tho some insane detail with the paint.👌 I could never have that much patience taping.
HAHAHA😁
Looks so dope, got the drift lowrider vibe goin. Throw some gold works on it and take it to the car show lol
That is a great idea! haha
Super friggin cool! Thanks for the lesson in fades and sparkle. Will try this on my Losi buggy for sure. Cheers!
Dude! I would swear that you used Iridescent paint for the color fade in some areas. Amazing illusion created by YOU kimosabee. Nice Job!
Yesss yeasssssss 🔥🔥🔥🔥🙏🏾
Thank you Gary! 🤘
Sick! Looks 3646477373373 times better than my Ford F-150 body I did on my HPI nitro back in the day!!! LOL.
Haha, do you have a pic of the F150 body?
@@DSTROYRvids I don’t believe so. That was a long ass time ago. Lol.
You should use a blow dryer or a heat gun to dry paint faster between coats speeds up the process and works really well
Great video. The car looks awesome. Thanks for letting me know about it. Now you’ve got to do a video of you drifting it.
The fade is perfect. Great work
Thank you I was nervous about it, but took my time and it worked out.
Hell yeah looks sick! Big fan of your airbrush work!
Looks hella rad!
Thank you! Glad I changed my mind.
I would love to see more of these! So sick watching it all get done.
I need to paint a few more bodies, so expect more.
@@DSTROYRvids As I see this message, I am in the process of cutting out masking for the windows on my Pandora Skyline 2000GT-R body. Already designed a custom livery which I am going to try and paint into the body aswell! Cant wait to see what you got planned!
Soo badass!!!
Looks amazing. You got skills!
Dude that was so freaking awwwmazing came out siiiiick and inspired my paint theme. I'm definitely stoked to paint my RC body tomorrow. Going heavy pink flake glitter neon pink spray paint and black paint etc going to do some crazy masking and layering
I am glad I could help inspire you to paint a body. Did you paint it yet?
@@DSTROYRvids I sure did but the black leaked through and messed up the Beautiful flake
hehe Jon's finally gonna make me try out the airbrush that I got over a year ago lol. Great job Jon!
Do it! I finally replied a year later. ugh
Great video chase!
Oh man so worth the time.
Thank you!
Super dope always wondered how ppl got the glitter effect, really good paint job👍💯
Thank you!
Where is the Elkie body from? Absolutely LOVE it!!
They body is made by APlastics.
Just needs some window tint
I was researching videos to see if i should try liquid mask or use the small masking tape like that and i think I’m just gonna use the tape with as clean as your lines were. That body came out 👌
You can try both and see what works best for you. Thank you glad you liked out it came out.
@@DSTROYRvids i went with the tamiya 3mm masking tape and did black with gold pearl on the back half and aluminum blue on the front half with a metallic silver 3mm outline. It turned out good for my first paint job in 7-8 years
Where did u get the el camino body
I bought it at SuperG here is the link supergdrift.com/product/chevy-el-camino-1970-1-10-body-setaplastics-elcamino/
Do you paint bodies for customers or is this just more of a hobby
No way I would use a paint that took that long to dry between each coat. Use a heat gun, or blow dryer. But never heard of paints where you had to let dry for that long with an airbrush. Such fine particals it should not take that long.. But hey not to bad of a job. Not a fan of the hood, but rest looks cool.
