Interesting bag choice! Never thought of a camera bag but I can see the utility of that choice. The mesh pockets look a little small for my water procurement setup. I use a Grayl GeoPress and 32oz titanium bottle. I guess if I owned that bag I would modify the mesh pouches. Thanks for sharing your set up it’s given me some ideas 👍

I call that my "I'm stuck at work bag". I'd toss in an Emergency Bivy in case you need to spend the night hunkered down in case of a Tornado or Hurricane or Wildfire, etc. Not every Emergency means you're going to be in a Firefight.

    Pros:
*I love the idea of the fanny pack chest rig. I can't believe I haven't thought of that. Really great idea.
*The camera bag idea is also great. I use a travel laptop bag. I don't have it place currently but my plan is to put in a 3a soft or hard plate insert(depending on weight).
*The light on the fanny pack is 👌
    Cons:
*the life straw stuff is not the best. I don't know if you've used it successfully but if not try running it first.
*You need more water. I've lived off tuna and those dry ration bars before when I was overseas. They will suck up every ounce of water in your body. On top of having to be combat effective, it's gonna run you ragged. I was walking 10-20 miles a day on top of it. I'm telling you. I couldn't get the water in me fast enough. If you got 1 back up mag then I would personally dump the other 2 for more water.
    Ideas
*Get you a little bottle of isopropyl alcohol diluted with a touch of water. It's a great disinfectant and hand cleaner. It leaves no residue.
*Stick a couple of 10s or 20s in random places as emergency cash. A 20 in the palm will make you friend real quick. Might save you a bullet.
Junk gold or silver rings. Wear one and you could use it for barter. When SHTF shiny stuff is gonna really be important if you catch my meaning.

Great idea with the camera bag! I love the compartment capabilities and they are relatively light and cheap.

I was rotating some stuff in some of my bags noticed my rations brick was past expired date , so I was like well I am gonna try it . I had the rxact same brand you have . It tasted like super dry cardboardish taste . It was so dry and dense it was like the cinnimon challenge. I couldn't swallow it without a mouthful of water . It was not a good experience, so for me I'd rather have a jar of peanuter butter . Mind you it would take more to rotate in and out but atleast I would want to eat it .

This is why its important to try all your gear. Including calories

Walmart has (believe it or not) powdered peanut butter. Good for about 1 1/2 yrs. Powdered milk also. I'm still looking for powdered eggs. I know its out there.
Just a suggestion, ditch the calories only food. Yes its energy but do absolutely nothing for muscle recovery/ maintenance/ building. HIGH protein (amino acids) foods will keep your muscles from burning out. It would be hard to survive/ move if you're feeling like a 90 yo. man. I have/use Muscle Milk protein powder (50g protein) + powdered milk (8g protein) + multivitamin in my pack. Just recently, I saw 60g protein powder at Walmart.
Consider carrying electrolyte powder tubes like Propel + B vitamins (energy). Being in deep south Texas (6 ft. from the sun), that stuff is a blessing. Believe me you, right now.
I really like the "combat fanny pack". That's Rock-and-Roll cool 🎸 😎 with the light. Get a pair of combat gloves (armored knuckles) or brass knuckles. Don't forget to include a helmet. NO ONE ever includes a frkn helmet in these videos. WHY ?? A low profile helmet ⛑️ like a LaCrosse (w/faceguard), spelunking, bicycle, even a strapped hard hat will be very useful/ valuable (eg.). EYE PROTECTION speaks for itself.
Gas mask, even commercial ones (Home Depot/ Lowes) with extra, various types of canisters is good 👍. Mine is a U.S. NAVY issue because of the full view of sight and I can change the canisters while wearing the mask, UNLIKE the U.S. ARMY issue. It's good to be a military vet with likewise friends. We're able to, say, "get stuff". Which brings up another VERY important/ valuable survival item. "HIRE/BEFRIEND A VET, IT'S A SURE BET". We can make A LOT of things, too.
I hope that you get the gyst of what I'm trying to convey. To survive in Texas, it's going to be grueling HOT in summer. Not so bad in winter. I'm a transplant to Texas from everywhere else to make Texas history with Pres.Trump (until the (D)umbasses stole the election). In my 1st week, I was smoking a cigarette and I saw Satan across the street , probably trying to steal souls. I yelled, asking him: "HEY SATAN !! WHERE ARE YOU GOING, YOU FKN S.O.B. ?" He yelled back saying: "Screw Texas, I'm going back to Hell to cool off in the Lake Of Fire." Yeah, right. Probably got a Texas ass whupping. Shortly after that, I smelled some GOOD cooking in the air. The smell was coming from MY ARMS, they were getting COOKED. Then I realized that I must be Pime Grade A+ steak. 😆
Well, enough jaw jacking. I'm still in deep south Texas so I guess I'm a Texan now. I love Texans/Texicans and the food is INCREDIBLE.
GOD Bless TEXAS/ AMERICA. AIRBORNE !

Great job! Like the bag! You could swap out a water bottle on the side with a berkey filter bottle or something like that to save room on inside and have it and a bottle of water on the outside. I liked the pack cover but might throw in a couple 99 cent ponchos to keep you dry incase of rain. But it’s def a great setup.

I would highly recommend KNIPEX High Leverage Cobolt Cutters. Those things make cutting chainlink/barbed wire super simple and easy. I'd also recommend a sillcock for opening water valves on buildings.

Don't let anyone chide you about the fanny pack. I know more than a few tough hombres that have worn one in combat. As I stated in your video on the subject...been wearing one myself for a couple decades.

Overall good job, only thing I would say is a lifestraw is good at camp, if I'm in a situation that dire, I don't want to be laying face down supporting myself with one hand as I use the other for the straw, you're completely defenseless in that posture.
The key to survival is warmth and hydration.
Personally I'd have a hydration bladder and a hand crank water purifier pump where I can be watching my surroundings.
Or lifestraw makes a water bottle with thier straw in it, grab and go, drink on the move.
I've used the straws doing backcountry elk hunts on the Idaho Montana border, they are cumbersome and limits your water intake.
Other big add a couple wire saws, and take the time and fill a quart zmsized zip lock bag with cotton balls you roll about in Vaseline, this is multi use, 1) great for chaffing and dry skin, sun burn, 2) great fire starter. Both these items take up very little room and are a massive aid.

Thanks for the video, another good one, glad I ran across your channel. I always think worst case scenario - EMP for me is the worst "survivable" scenario if I don't die right away in say a nuke. I commute 44 miles each way into Houston, from The Woodlands to East Katy. Some of this will add some weight, but nothing too bulky.
Silcock key. Pry bar, even a small one and some lock picking tools (know how to use them of course). I'd find a Wal-Mart and "obtain" a bike to get me home quicker. Thick fence cutters for chain link fence, Zip-cuffs (you may not want to shoot everyone, but also not have them come after you), 1-2 Bandanas, Caffeine pills, Advil or Motrin, Small amount of duct tape (works wonders covering blisters), Rats tourniquet and another Cat-T, Chapstick, Goggles (never know how bad dust and explosions will be), Hydration Powder/electrolytes, Burn gel (small packet), Sounds silly, but I always carry a mini toothbrush and paste. 550 cord (I carry about 25'). I'd swap one of those water bottles for a heavier duty protein shaker bottle and keep some hydration powder in a zip lock in it, and have some water in the truck to add in right away before walking. Think about a faraday bag for the radio. Decent Crescent, Channel locks and Needle Nose. Weighs a lot, but I always keep another 100 rounds in a zip lock. I carry a decent Monocular as well. I also have some printed maps of some routes, bike shops and Wal-Marts, and nav. tools as well. I keep some more rations in the truck and would eat these right away and then get hiking.
Just some thoughts. Take it easy and once again, thanks for the video.

I would also add Water purification tablets and a couple bandanas along with a small rain poncho. I work 30 miles from home in Northern California Sacramento area (up in the foothills) and if I had to walk home carefully after an EMP/large quake, I would end up leaving a lot in my van but I also keep so much in my van so if I ever got caught with my wheelchair bound 20 year old son we might have better options. I can only keep my EDC handgun (Yes in my CA county I was able to get a permit to carry). I keep a fold up pull cart JIC I have no choice but to walk. A adult / kid in a wheelchair and almost 60 year old man are going to be a target but the EDC includes my weapon and a 3A+ armor backpack plate and full expanded IFAK. Plus extra meds for my sons needs. The wheelchair van is set up to stay put for weeks with enough camp supplies / food etc.. If EMP and/Earthquake of Fallout stay put... but if we had to walk and push a wheelchair 30 miles.... it could be a bad day. Consolidate and move on. If I am alone I think I can do it in 2 days... maybe... Without pulling a cart and only a 20lb GHB. Yes on the water box key. I switched to Sawyers and Smart Water bottles like a bunch of PCT and AT ultralight through hikers use. Glad I found your channel and you are a good thinker about the details. Great work and kind of you to share information and knowledge and experience. My former backpacking and deer hunting experiences feed into my choices for sure. Less is more if you have enough. :-) Love the bag too.

I really like the setup you got. The battle Fanny pack is bad ass. I like how the bag is simple and covers all the bases. I would throw in headlamp, contractor garbage bags and an IFAK or more robust first aid/ med kit.

    Very nice system.
Only thing I would do different is exchange the LifeStraw for the sawyer mini. If you have water bottles already, you can reuse them giving you more water carrying capability. Just make sure the sawyer can screw onto the threads of the bottles first. Also, you can use the sawyer as a drinking straw as well. Other suggestion is some type of map and compass.

I absolutely love your content. I think part of survival is choosing your environment, which is why I moved my family to Texas. I am stuck out of state working in a large city. So the low profile, gray kits are more applicable to me. I think being in a city having a water box "Sillcock" key and a 2 to 3 ft length of garden hose is important. the hose is usefull as a self defense tool, keeping dogs and others at bay without having to go show a firearm as well as a means to fill water containers. Just an idea.

Outstanding load out! I think you've pretty much well got it covered for your needs and situation. Very well organized and orderly. Only thing I might recommend is minor - maybe a bic lighter (butane) because they're relatively cheap and still widely available, or maybe something like a Thyrm lighter case to replace the Zippo case. I know my Zippo lighter used to dry out super fast just packed away in my EDC bag. My takeaways from this video are the camera, ankle rig and fanny pack, I definitely need to score me some of those!

Opinion from a new sub. I agree with LP Kovacs, not every emergency is a fire fight. There are a few things that can be added to your kit. I'm sure eventually you'll figure it out. Also you did say "We" so I assume there's more than one of you. So others need to be taken into consideration. It's great to be a minimalist but each kit must be functional. Keep endeavoring matey.
