now thats a Cobia, so glad to see you release her to breed and see her swim away so strong after a long fight, that will live on in memory for a few years, excellent.
Just for a second, can we talk about the Cobia in the room? Mother Murphy, that was an Enormous Cobia!!! Living in Canada we get a lot of American fishing videos highlighted (provided you watch these kinds of videos to begin with) and I have seen multiple large Cobias over the years. Some taken with rod and reel, some taken by spearfishing, and the most insane was watching as spearfishers were diving down and shooting Cobia off of Bull Sharks!!! Icon that you are though, you haul up the Mother of ALL Cobia in some kind of desperate attempt to show us that braid will stretch given the right gear, and an impossibly large fish!! Well done Icon, Sir!!! I like your little cooker and cook system with the Jet Boil included. It kind of reminds me of a cooker my Buddy's Dad had, and brought out to Hunting Camp a few times, it was called a Cobb Cooker. It had a lot of the same kinds of cooking features that your funky little Dometic Cooker has, plus the Dometic has some cool features not found on the Cobb, like the ability to fold the legs down into a compact design making it a perfect dinner companion no matter what the adventure!!! Thanks for letting us tag along on your epic day of fishing out on the Big Blue and the Scout is looking more and more like a Deadly Fishing Weapon!! All my Love to You, Tal, Abella and the Pups, Indi & Baz and special thanks to your Buddy from another Mommy, Josh, who got stuck into some very cool fish, congratulations!!! Take Care, Be Safe & Tight Lines!!! - Dave
Our main mannnn!! So good to hear from you 🙌 I hope all has been well on your front and the body is on the mend and treating you kindly. Haha yesss I’ve seen those crazy guys spearing cobia off sharks too they must have some big cahoonahs 😂😂😂 I’ll give that one a miss thank you lol. It’s been many years since I’ve tangled with a big one but back in my hey day I actually caught a cobia that would have put this one to shame !! It got eaten boat side by a tiger shark and all we were left with was the head from the pec fins up. We weighed that part for interest and it was 13kg so we estimated the fish itself to be in the 50-60 range which is close to as big as they get I’m pretty sure. I have a photo of that somwhere I’ll have to dig it out. Bub and mum are doing well we took everyone out for a walk the other day pups included and had a great day out in the sunshine :) just need to win lotto so we can keep that lifestyle up instead of going back to work hahaha Well thanks again for tuning in mate! Hope you enjoyed it and we’ll catch you on the next episode 🤙🩵
@@CoastalChaosAdventures If it's any consolation I keep buying lotto tickets here too, figure I'd share it with you and a few other folks if I ever win!! Might even move to the southern hemisphere myself if I ever win, but someplace a little cooler than Australia and with less poisonous critters, but close enough that a trip every odd month for a fishing trip wouldn't be out of the question!! Glad you and the Family got out for a lovely day in the Sunshine, those kind of days make for pretty wonderful memories later on!! Take care, my Icons!!
a good way to rig hearing with a gang hook is hook the bottom hook just behind the anal fin, it keeps the hearing in better shape because it swims freely and the hooks are exposed
Cheers for the tip mate! I've been trying new ways an seen the USA guys hooking their live baits under the chin to make them swim down in deep water... works well!
Blimey what a fish that Cobia was. Great cook up Brett, poor old Tal at home starving!😜. Question is the first time your brother had eaten that week? 🤔. Thanks as always...👍
Hi Bretto Great footage, what's happening with the audio very low lately?. Can't believe the how flat it is. How's mumma n bubs going, you'll have to do a family trip. Cheers mate love ya shows keep up the great work and stay safe
Should be good mate I just checked its all peaked to -6DB which is actually louder than recommended for general listening standards haha Bub and mum are good she's almost ready for some small. oat missions soon so getting excited!
@CoastalChaosAdventures Cool stuff 😎 I bet you both can't wait for the family maiden voyage. Good luck, I remember 16yrs ago taking my two boys out at 2 and 10mths what a memorable 💖 moment. All the best 👍
You guys should stop slumming it and come to the United "Islamic State" Kingdom for some real "living the dream" experience. I'll get the pot noodles in. Cheers for the vid guys, cheered me up enough to get the rods out. Nice one.

Cheers mate! Yes definitely the biggest I’ve seen in a long time
Epic lads

Great fish and release mate, one of the few species that mate for life, often see them swimming in pairs.
Well I learned something today!! I didn’t know that they mate for life. Glad I’m not a fan of eating Cobia then haha they all go back on our boat :)
I don’t know how you got that shark up after that monster cobia. Great vid as always mate and good to see Josh back in front of the camera
haha yes it was a mission !! The old arms were definitely feeling it! Always good to have Joshy on an adventure :-)
