Hiked all over this area back in the 70s & 80s I so love the mountains and desert. Body to broken to partake anymore. But I have some wonderful memories. Sleeping out alone in the desert does the body & soul wonders. Thanks for the video.oh my first time in sabino 1970 in my hippi VW bus happy days.
Born in Tucson, my family has a street named for us. My folks had a place further north east of Vail, but against the mountains. Very similar to 7 falls. I saw the peice my mom had up for sale...1.5 million? Wow! We moved further out and northeast as the crow flies. Thanks for being respectful of our home. Good job
While I sit here looking at your video I realize that Tucson is the reason I always have to live near mountains. There were no fees when I was a kid. It never occurred to us or our parents that there were mountain lions in the canyon. We slept at Hutch's pool on a sandy area near a big sort of over hanging rock around a camp fire in the open. Never a tent! OMG! That was 50 years ago!
Years back I was camping with friends at Hutch's pool when we heard what sounded like a mountain lion roaring. We were actually excited about it because we knew that the chance of an attack on a group of people around a campfire was nil. It turned out it was another group of campers mimicking a roar to try and scare us.
Thank you great video ! Lived near sabino for 14 years - it’s tranquil and beautiful although busy these days! Best time is when there is water in the streams and new foliage 🏔
I live about 8 miles from Sabino Canyon and have only visited there a couple of times. Now, Feb. 2016, would be a very nice time to visit due to the unseasonably warm weather and hiking conditions. Thanks for a nicely done, informative video.....
I use to hike there all the time back in the 80's. no charge for parking back then. It is always a good idea to carry a weapon when you hike there to defend yourself from some of the wildlife. Better safe than dead
fast wheels I’ve hiked up and past Seven Falls all the way up to Prison Camp starting in the mid 80’s and have been up there at least 200+ times....Never saw one mountain lion even at a distance. There’s really not much wildlife up there I mean you barely see birds hiking up to Seven Falls....There’s zero reason to carry a weapon up there.
It is a wonderful hike but be prepared to fjord the stream several times along the trail. That is why I wear a lighter shoe that can be removed and rinsed out with out damage. I like a shoe with stretch fabric upper and vibrant sole.
ha! im austin "smith"! gonna take this as a sign, many thanks. Thought your channel name said wanderlust wis(something didnt show the rest and now it just say wanderlust but was guessing wisconsin where i am living now but def moving before next winter looks like it might be AZ!)
There are also 8-14 days of Spring rains. The historic rainfall in Tucson was the week before Christmas, gentle and light, Springtime, and Monsoon. 3 times per year, not 2.
The Sonoran Desert is defined by its bimodal rain pattern. That means two rainy seasons. That was direct from Dr. James Brown in our Ecology 235 class in the Ecology & Evolutionary Biology Department.
+Anh Do depends on the time of the year, the water is usually pretty low if it is not winter or summer(monsoon) season, you wouldn't really want to swim in winter as it is mostly snow melt, but durring the summer there are some great pools to swim in. Just need to be careful of flash floods.

Seven falls is a pain to get to
Coues deer/Arizona white-tailed deer
I was hoping you would not use the incorrect term "Monsoon Season" since Monsoon means "Seasonal wind shift" Monsoon season is Redundant
could you swim in the water ?
