I'm a proud Bengali and I live in Ludhiana. Here I want to mention one thing that I love Punjabis and their food too. It's been so many years I have lots of Punjabi friends and we have a very good bonding. Every week we enjoy food together and every Bengali is not judgemental about Punjabis. We love Punjabi foods and culture.

She means that if a person is Sikh, it does not mean their ethnicity is Punjabi. My paternal grandmother is a Tajik Sikh. She was born in Afghanistan before marrying and settling in India eventually. My maternal grandmother is a Kashmiri Sikh. She learned Punjabi in her early teens when she began to study the Guru Granth Sahib, but her first language was Kashmiri. My paternal grandmother can also speak Punjabi, but she grew up speaking Farsi and Urdu more. Also, the former PM Manmohan Singh is a Sikh whose ethnicity is Punjabi. Hence, she did not contradict herself.

@@VK-sb5tf Yes because every guru came from a Hindu family but either rejected or left the respective rituals. Guru Nanak descended from a Hindu family, but chose to be different and rejected an abundance of both Hindu and Islamic principles.
