My child is in fourth grade, and I love the curriculum and teachers. We are doing the accredited program. Abeka is professional and well thought out, and the curriculum has given me a great deal of security knowing that my child is being educated and challenged. Thank you, thank you, thank you! This is for Sara, I seen that as well, I had already purchased it for my 5th grader. As far as the arithmetic speed drills, I could see that maybe some people feel that way if their child is behind in math or just not very good at math and the reason is, is because their videos goes through flash cards and so the kids have to be rather quick to do those and speed drills. Luckily my child is keeping up with that and we practice on wkends, but she has done very well, other than that, I don't see why to start the them behind their grade level. My daughter has quickly caught on to how things are laid out as far as what's expected of her each day and it's worked out. I hope this helps, being your original post was 10 months ago. Im a kid. Personally, I do not like Abeka. I thought me picking homeschool meant moving as fast or slow as i feel and having my mom as a teacher but i have a different teacher and being all by myself all day slows me down.
Have you respectfully and calmly discussed this with your parents? There are many solutions to the problems you’re facing. They have many options for Abeka including parent led and homeschool options in general. There are homeschool groups and sports so you wouldn’t be alone. Good luck with everything!
Thanks for doing this. I do hope there ends up being a video(s) that explain from the start in a concise way how to begin with Abeka streaming. For example, once you have gotten your books, get familiar with the video manual (then explain it), and which books your students get- and you get. Then setting up the profiles for your child AND you on the Abeka website. As a new "teacher" I didn't know about the manual or my profile/dashboard. I'm not playing catch-up.
We are having issues about the dvd the computer wont play with the cd can we start the lesson without the cd while waiting for the delivery of our purchased a fortable dvd with monitor.I homeschool my kid before ( not Abeka)as kinder i did advanced first grade lesson .As I’ am wondering if we can work on the text books available
In the independent study program it would be great to have some accountability by Abeka. As a parent I would like some validation that the child is receiving what they need. In a nut shell sometimes I feel my teaching is on target and other times I am not sure.
Starting the homeschool journey with my 7th grader in January 2024. He’s always been in public school. Prefer to do accredited in case I put him back into public school in the future, but I’ve heard it’s intense especially for new homeschoolers. I know he’s behind in writing and grammar although his grades in school are good. Probably a little above average in math and average in other subjects. I really wish there was a way I could test him on Abeka material to see where he falls. Not sure if he’s ready for full swing 7th grade accredited Abeka Academy. Any suggestions? Thank you

Many of the subjects grading instructions is in the test key books inside the first few pages, on those pages of test keys says how many to count off for each test. For example, Spelling Vocabulary and Poetry test key. This has been posted 11 months ago so I hope you found the answers by now.

Can you make a video about how to use ABEKA when you have more kids , like for example, with my first I will be purchasing the whole enrollments ( video streaming+ books) but with my other ones I don't want to buy books that already got from my first). We did 5th grade Abeka and it worked very well, but we are overseas and don't have access to her friends, so I let her go back to public school, big mistake. She is asking me now to please homeschool her back with Abeka. So for 7th grade we are returning to accredited again for August and moving this summer back to the States.
Hello, I've been trying to get any response from this school anyway i can. I have 2 children enrolled and am trying to get their reading tests to you. Your email isn't working, I've tried other emails you listed, no responses. I cant get anyone on the phone and when I try to do any sort of recording, for testing or just messages, it just hangs up. Not sure what to do but this has been going on for weeks!

Hello! I saw in another video that if starting Abeka we should start one grade lower because Abeka is advanced. Did you find that to be true?
