We’ve been mortised on TH-cam for one whole year and our income in this period may shock you.. Or discourage you (if what you wanted was an example of how to become rich quick). We may not have earned the big bucks, but we have learnt a few lessons along the way that we think could be very helpful. By sharing our analytics, and also putting the numbers into a broader context, that includes our costs, we hope to give you a more realistic expectation of what the income of a small TH-camr can look like.

Thank you for your honesty..i think one of the issues is that TH-cam makes vast fortunes and that should be shared more with the content creators.
Thanks for sharing. We can really relate. We are small TH-camrs as well. We believe that doing what makes us happy and sharing it with others can lead to good things. Maybe bring in some income at some point. But the brave is the one who dares to experience and experiment and share it publicly. Keep up the good work, you are wonderful 🌻.

Although I am not a content creator I am a creative and what you explained about the costs of bring a youtuber sounds very familiar. Yes you can use the free versions of all the online tools, and produce everything on a shoestring, but I have learned that if you want a professional product you have to have professional equipment and applications.
I know I have to invest in myself to be the creator I want to be.
I hope you can continue to produce you lifestyle content and niche it to audiences that are interesting to advertisers and sponsors.

this is very standard for TH-cam now. The ad revenue is very small for many niches. The only high paying ad revenues are for finance, business and tech niches. Most youtubers who want to make money here are doing so through affiliate marketing links in their description, sponsors, selling private membership channels or offering classes, and merchandise.

Thanks for this video! Really insightful and straightforward. Your content is really interesting (this area is a hidden jewel, nice view that of Lunada military base from your garden!), sincere and of a very good quality….. it will take off at some point. Tips for a side hustle working from home…. English, Dutch, Spanish…. What about freelance translation?…….also, even though the tourism in the area is mainly local, surely the few foreign visitors would appreciate some local guides who could take them around the not so obvious and disperse atractions. I think what happened is that YT promoted a bit your channel in Jan and then dropped it. I think I was already subscribed to You, but not sure, and all the following months you didn't show up in my recommendations any more. I was before unsubscribed by YT from several channels, maybe ask your viewers to check if they are still subscribed. Many channels make an Amazon wishlist Today, that could be something for you as well. And make Shorts!

I can imagine that the initial recording slows what you are trying to get done down as well. Having to make sure you're set up and everything is looking great for each shot can't be quick or easy. Exactly! Anything you do recorded takes twice as long. There’s times when it’s not as enjoyable, but most of the time we take it as an opportunity to be really intentional about what we’re doing. And it also makes stop and notice the beauty more often than I would normally I think ☺️

Your videos are interesting because they mix doing up a home with thinking about what is the best way to live the precious short lives we have. You are such nice genuine young people too. Your most viewed Spain video had a very mysterious and enigmatic photo. It was intriguing. A lot of couples have the woman in skimpy clothes to get views, you could do that but have decided against so far which I respect. Sending positive vibes and will be watching all the adds just on your channel from now on. 😊

I think because it is unique home, and useful in "How you are exactly doing this?,"
It may be what drives the higher ratings from TH-cam.
Many people are also interested in alternative, more affordable, healthier lifestyles, which you are doing with this unique property in Spain country side, and all that entails.
I find TH-cam videos that are consistent with format, i.e., they start off saying or doing or continuing they're projects they've been working on, inspiring and helpful.
They may throw in other brief content of going to get supplies, cooking, hobbies, gardening, taking a road trip, having visitors, or they're little nuggets of wisdom in what they learned/gleamed from their recent efforts, but they pretty much they consistently stick to their format in every video.
I find this predictability actually fulfilling.
I also love to see someone's artistic creativity either they produce while renovating, or on the side, or cooking a delicious meal, maybe even creating a cook book on the side, and whether they succeed or fail in the garden, and their tips they have learned as a result.
If the channel is about renovating a homestead (a historic one in the country side of Spain, all the more interesting), then that's usually why I've tuned in the first place.
Defining content can be very helpful to you.

Hi, I am also surprised that this channel is growing so slowly. I think it has something to do with its name. I was looking at a channel that is three weeks old and now has close to 20k followers and another channel that went to over 100k in less than half a year.

the reason your algeria videos are barely making money is cause we almost have no advertisers here so youtube doesn't show us ads most of the time , i see an ad like twice a month so that's why we don't provide any revenue when we watch yt and don't need yt premium

Thanks for doing this. I don't want to make videos but I do want to know if I fast forward the adverts does this effect the money you receive ? I don't want you to be penalized because I hate the adverts.
To be honest there is no transparency as to what affects the revenue exactly. I once heard that it does affect it but it could just be a trick to benefit advertisers 😅 In any case, totally understand you skipping the adverts. We hate them too! By being here watching and engaging you’re already really helping! ♥️

Well I have a TH-cam channel since 2007 . I made 150 films about my life as a gallery’s in my house. But the Covid. I’m not making money because nobody is interested in Art. I have seen all your films since you started. But not paying you a penny alas because I’m not earning money.
