Using some soap or wax on the burr will help keep it from loading up with aluminum. i love welding aluminum. Hate cutting it.

Yeah the wood on the rear isn't necessary. You can do something much cooler. I'm deleting the wood on my Model A Roadster Pickup because I hate the look of the wood. I'm excited to see more of your build as it progresses!

Do any town schools around you sell off industrial tools like lathes? I will keep my eyes open for you, I’ve seen nice ole drill presses for sale on the cheap

I think I know how you want your engine to look when it's done. Search youtube for 'S. Co. T. Blower', it's the same setup you have.
