The gameplay was unique and while it was difficult I would have thought it would have kept people playing a lot more but I guess it was the opposite I play it to this day and I got the ps3 in like 2020 just to experience these games because a lot of games on the ps3 had games everyone knew but were in a fun experimental stage and I enjoy them a lot, can’t wait for tekken 8
I have such fond memories of this series. Tekken 3 was the first Tekken me & my brothers played. In fact, I think it was the very first fighting game we've ever played. We borrowed it from our uncle (R.I.P), who would occasionally play with us and then always beat the crap out of our fighter. Thanks for keeping it alive all this time Katsuhiro.
The man, the legend, the meme. I wish Tekken 8 gives us a proper arcade mode, with endings for every character, who cares if these endings contradict the canon ending of the insufferable story mode?
I wish too, and most endings were never meant to be canon anyway! Like in T3 for exemple, I think there's only 2 or 3 that are or could be canon: Jin's (obviously since he's the winner of the tournment) and maybe some that have nothing to do with winning the tournament like Paul's which is literally just him getting a ticket because he forgot to get back on his lane after overtaking a truck with his bike.
I know. Fighting game story modes are always crap and aren't fun to play. And relying on the story of a fighting game too much in aging characters too much if it doesn't work for the game or not adding "video game dead" characters back even if they are popular characters is just silly.
Yeah ttt2 gets shitted on a lot but I actually liked it a whole lot. Its no tekken 7 but it wasn't trying to be. Its more of tekken 6 but crazier with the combos and quite unbalanced which ttt1 was also unbalanced which made it fun also.
tekken 4 is the black sheep of the franchise. It was the best story wise, music, stage designs. what it lacked in gameplay competitively more than made up for it by its style. Still my favorite tekken outta of them all
I agree save for stage design it made high level play a nightmare if your opponent has the low ground it's an easy win for them. Plus some stages would be loophole due to the wall mechanics with heihachis hellsweep into dragon uppercut for full damage. It's the best in terms of atmosphere and plot, but not gameplay as tag 1, 5, and I'd say 7 are the main contenders there.
6:26 i feel the need to point out Harada did not use that blurred out word. The sentence after "RT" is how quote tweeting used to work on old Twitter. so the blurred out word was said TO him not BY him.
I grew up with 1,2,3 but never played 4 or Tag 1. Now after years i bought both and tbh after playing 7 excessivly, 4 feels very refreshing and is kinda a good single player experience 😁
I'd love harada as a guest character for 8. I mean just imagining him telling Jin "don't ask me for shit" as he whoops his butt is the stuff fans like me dream of.
Harada-San really is the 🐐 he’s a breath of fresh air because he’s himself and not some boring corporate suit. It’s hilarious that he hid his job from his parents, for 10 years! I wonder what he told them he was doing, for work 😂 anytime they asked him he probably was like “don’t ask me about shit”
The new one (8) has topped them all in the franchise, Harada took on a more prominent advisor role and still was crucial to its success. Harada is the goat of gaming.
I'd be absolutely thrilled to witness the creation of Tekken Tag Tournament 3, featuring a roster that encompasses every character from the entire Tekken series. Instead of the character DLCs they could concentrate on making dlc’s only for enhancing customization options. Naturally, the return of Tekken Bowling is a must. Moreover, reintroducing team fights, incorporating cutscenes in arcade mode, and providing unique video endings for each character would add a captivating dimension. Initiating with a modest starting roster and progressively unlocking characters by completing the arcade mode with each of them. The ability to toggle off rage arts would also be a welcome addition, making for the ideal Tekken experience in my eyes. Also bringing back the 3D Story Mode where you can run around fight and pick up chicken to heal would be great. That would be my perfect Tekken. Is there a platform where fans can collectively compile their suggestions for the next Tekken installment?
So sad that TT2 was so unsuccesful. It was the best game in the series imo. So many characters, great graphics, and the tag mechanic is super good for casual players and local multiplayer. If the whole tag thing was too unbalanced online, couldnt they just make a single mode for those? Instead of that weird balancing they tried
