      Same. With mine we had to live in the same house for about 6 months and we still ate dinner together most nights and chatted. Even made coffee for each other in the morning! We even started to wonder why we were divorcing lol.

    Her husband was found guilty of second-degree murder. He served a 20-year sentence and, upon his release in 2004, returned to Davenport, where he died in 2010.

      a blanket statement like this seems reasonable only if a confession or direct eyewitness testimony or video proof has been legally obtained. Even if you're damn near positive, we must adhere to the law and the legal rights of the fellow. An example would be me removing that detective's horrifying comb-over by force if necessary. By god it's nearly criminal, but it is his right.

    Just looked up Jim, he got out of prison in 04' after only serving 20 years in prison. He was arrested again for drugs, but of course got off and died in 2014 after a fall. Goodbye to that piece of shxt.

      He beat her and abused her. They warned her and didn’t want to get involved.
      So they all suffered emotionally and were afraid of their lives as well as hers most probably. Basically they said they don’t trust him.
      Sad though, choose him or us is pretty cruel and severe.
      Tuff love and love with conditions to me is abuse and abandonment not love at all.
      People just don’t like chaos and stress in their lives with family members.
      I guess they figured she will have to learn it on her own.

      That only proves the body was concealed. Concealment implies consciousness of guilt but guilty of what?
      Technically she could have died from accident (as in accidental OD. He's partly to blame so he hides the body.) OR suicide. OR illness.
      The law requires that the state/prosecutor prove each & every element of the offense charged. Cutting up a dead body doesn't prove homicide.

    I always wonder what kinda procedure policemen had to follow!!! Sometimes the evidence is so obvious and yet it always take time to follow things up, it wouldn't hurt to investigate if someone is missing, just to make sure.

    Why in all these stories, the husband killer alleges his wife ran off with another man + well, no, actully he killed her, but it was ALWAYS an accident. They have NO idea how often detectives hear this same old story.

      Because sometimes your wife does run off with another man. Mine did, I reported her missing and she was out of state. Still alive to this day. They investigated it and I was the prime suspect for a day.

    RIP Sandra Stuller: I can understand the relatives' frustration when she gave the abusive ex-husband another chance. (Obviously a very BAD idea.) But severing ties punishes HER rather thqn the party that deserved it. The worst thing to do bc it leaves her no where to turn.

      Well that family was rather stupid. I wouldn’t disown a family member of mine unless they were a rapist or killed somebody for no justification. Chances are I would fire up the backhoe and do justice my way if they were a child predator.

      There are good reasons! One being an adult child still acting like a rebellious teenager. All parents make mistakes. But after all those years of love and concern kids move away with "see you later"! If you don't want to be apologising the rest of your life one must let them go.
