    A piece of History. Should have been junked years ago but will end up as a LS6 high dollar car. Doesn't matter that the original drivetrain is gone, and the front-end sheet metal, doors, and who knows what else will be replaced. In the future a cowl and VIN tag may be all that is needed for documentation. Enjoyed the video, sad to see a wonderful car was neglected to such a pitiful condition. Some cars are original. This one will never be.

    I was probably 15 when a my best friends twins had Bessemer (older by 2-3 years but left back multiple time, parents had money) come over with a LS 6 454 4 speed black. I got in the rear seat and he took off pinning me to the back seat feeling g forces not knowing what that was. I heard it was one of the fastest cars in Bergen county NJ at that time. Winning street drag races.

    That is a highly equipped 70 Chevelle SS 454. Not that many were that highly optioned because the SS and the 454 were high priced all by themselves. I bet it stickered around $5500 which doesn't sound like much with prices today but back then that was big money.

    • @Cartier_specialist
      @Cartier_specialist 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You certainly wouldn't want the 4:10 gears with a 4 speed for driving at highway speeds because the engine would be screaming. At least with the Turbo 400 the final drive would make it less screaming.

    • @willslowik7264
      @willslowik7264 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Nice combination of color and options. Thinking this is going to be a very expensive restoration though. I wonder what it will be worth in the resale market, after the restoration is completed. Considering it doesn't have original engine or transmission. At what point does a restoration become, not worth it?

    • @phillipari296
      @phillipari296 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would think the restoration is gonna cost more than the resale value unless they have the ability to do some of the work themselves. But if they have the money It will definitely be cool.

    • @bartsarton2212
      @bartsarton2212 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I guess you get to a point where you're not thinking about resale. Put into it what you want to make you happy. Without the original engine or transmission it's just worth what brings a smile to your face and the thumbs up you get.
