I haven't played this game yet. It doesn't come out until Halloween but some people have gotten the chance to play the game early so I'm reacting to those. I can't wait to get into this game and make my own character! 🙂☺
Having played Dragon Age: Origins, DA2, DA: Inquisition, Mass Effect 1, ME2, ME3, and ME: Andromeda, this is the best character creator I have seen in a BioWare game. I remember thinking that the character creator in Inquisition was so much better than the previous games, and that the one in Andromeda was several steps back from what had been possible in DAI. Veilguard looks to be a huge leap forward for BioWare in terms of character creation. The gameplay changes making it more like Mass Effect don't worry me, as I liked the Mass Effect combat more than the combat in Dragon Age, and I think Andromeda had the best combat gameplay of any BioWare game I've played. From what I've seen I am still very much looking forward to 31-October.
I agree with everything you said about the CC and the combat. I am excited for this game. Too many people are comparing it to other games like the CC in BG3 and Cyberpunk without realizing that Bioware is just trying to do better than their previous games. It's not about the other games. But people are gonna do what they do. I can't wait for Halloween!
Personally, I don't see the character creator as a main selling point. Saints Row series, Dragon's Dogma 1/2, and FO4 have all done it better, just as examples. I don't know why IGN and some other outlets are drawing attention to it. I doubt it's one of the better parts of the game. There was a lot of articles talking about it.
Yeah, like cmon the devs know it’s not even close to as free or good as Dragons Dogma 2’s. They should have just covered the hair physics and moved on.
@gamingguru2k6 it is a main selling point for a lot of Dragon Age fans who have been asking for it. And they’re not competing with other games. They’re competing with themselves because their character creator has never measured up
