      It’s no mansion-it is a house built for quick money. Bet they didn’t pay for an construction inspection. If it hadn’t been for such a sloppy job the bees wouldn’t have been able to take over as they did.

I think Mr. Ed is jiving you maybge a considerable amount unless he's got a bedside lamp on a timer and he thinks it's the sun when it goes off about midnight and it takes him the rest of that time to get his old brittle bones up and about. And trying to keep up with his Mom which is a lost cause. He couldn't do it as a kid and SURE can't do it now. So go clean out a bacon burger joint or 2 and get your strength built back up. Furthermore, 'Astronomical Twilight' (the point at which the sun is just barely able to start changing the sky color by a not-easily-noticable amount) starts around... 4:10AM. That hardly seems possible.

    What would happen if a piece of brood comb was left behind, following a clean out? No nurse or foragers bees, just brood in different stages of development.

      Some of the mature brood would still emerge but the new bees wouldn’t survive too long without the rest of the colony.

    Drs, RN’s and EVERY1 who wears a mask is a trooper‼️
    I wore one in my Dad’s last month because the hospital let him rot literally for 5 months and he contracted MRSA, C DIFF and some illness only tracheotomy/ventilator patients get as a result of not being cleaned properly and other factors and it can never be treated so I couldn’t even kiss my Dad goodbye when he agreed to “comfort care” which meant them “weaning” him off from the ventilator however the medical staff took him off of it and he suffocated to death.......
    SHOULD NOT BE CALLED “COMFORT CARE‼️”
    Should be a prison sentence but that’s just my opinion. He only agreed to it for pain meds Because even though he was in so much pain he couldn’t breathe well enough with the ventilator for them to give him pain medication so he suffered bad and after he agreed they still didn’t give him the medication they agreed to when he gave them the stipulation of I’ll choose comfort care if you sedate me with Adivan and an opiate in his vein as he was on a feedingtube.
    Sorry! Those masks suck so God Bless ALL OF YOU WHO WEAR THEM REGULARLY❤️❤️‼️❤️❤️

    Does eating the insulation have a serious effect on the bees/their honey?
    And this may be a random question but what do you do when it rains and all the brush/dried foliage for the smoker is wet? Do you just keep extra?

    • @628DirtRooster
      @628DirtRooster  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The bees don't eat the insulation. They drop it out of the hive area. I keep a bucket of dry pine straw.

    I have a contractor question fer ya! That spray yellow foam stuff, I've heard it can give problems with moisture retention and even cause mold problems? What's your take on it? If someone were to build a house would you use the stuff?
    This past summer there was an attack of bees on a neighborhood right near mine. The FireDept called me (riot, I know), and when I went to look at the hive, as I was driving there with a buddy, I said "it's foam, it's always foam they used foam." ---ya buddy, that's exactly what happened. Those bees were happy as clams in the walls for years....then for whatever reason, the owner thought to just seal them in (with expanding foam).... My buddy said "shit, damn, it's exactly as you said...I didn't know what you were talking about, but it was foam, they tried to seal them in and they attacked the neighborhood!" The guy who did the spraying acted all innocent and stuff...ya, right buddy. That bee entrance was so caked with foam it looked like some strange art creation. The bees never allowed the foam to dry. We never ended up removing it...don't know what happened in the end. They were fine up until...the foam monster tried to seal them in!

      Urethane foam insulation definitely does retain moisture yet it really only poses a problem if there is ever a leak of any kind. The problem is that leaks don't always show up immediately and the foam can hide a leak that would otherwise show in ceiling stains and such. The biggest problem we've found with it down here is that it makes an incredible environment for termites. I used to handle large loss claims for Terminix and it wasn't unusual to find damaged framing on an entire side of a house that was only discovered when the termites finally chewed little holes in the drywall or window trim. The "R" value is great but I would never insulate a home with it, not even a metal studded home. The termites will tunnel between the foam and the back of the drywall up to the roof trusses and eat those.

      @cluelessbeekeeping1322 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@628DirtRooster I had NO idea the termites love it so much. I'm so glad I learned of this. NO way I'll ever use that stuff. It sounds like it's basically "termite food with insulation properties."
      Thanks again for the thorough response!

      Hey guys up here in Ontario Canada I’ve noticed bees in ridged foam insulation for years man they love this stuff. Our latest building code calls for 1´´ ridged foam board on all exterior walls. I know from experience this is going to be a huge mistake down the road as it seems most insects not just bees tunnel in this stuff. It makes for a great home for our cold climate.
