    Hey John I’ve done my water pump and reassembled everything to spec now it will not kick, any suggestions? May I add it ran fine after a test run after completing the water pump.

    Hi bro, I have a 1995 honda cr250r 2stroke, my question is... the water pump shaft of a 1997-2000 it fits my honda?

    These videos are amazing. Was replacing a blown headgasket and inspecting the water pump, just have a question about axial /end play on waterpump shaft, i dont have a leak out the telltale hole, but the shaft does slide in and out slightly by hand. No radial play at all. Is this normal or should i plan to rebuild the water-pump soon?

    I hope you are real good at responding back. 85 cr 125 coolant is mixing with gear oil in the crank case. Do I have to take the side cover off to fix this?

    Do you have a part number for the inner impeller washer? I can't find mine and all I'm seeing is the copper washer in the schematics? Yours is silver?

    Hi John, I’m rebuilding my shock on my rm85 and I was wondering what your Preferred method is. Rebuilding it like how you did your crf450 when you filled the oil through the compression adjustor or like your cr250 when you filled the The reservoirs first then put the bladder and shaft in? Thanks

    • @Fixyourdirtbike
      @Fixyourdirtbike  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I prefer to take the compression adjuster out and fill from there. On my CR250 it was seized and I was going to do more damage trying to remove it.

    I had a extremely hard time getting the Impeller shaft washer, exhaust govener washer stay in place when putting the side of the case back on they kept wanting to fall out of place, hopefully they all Stayed in place when i finally got it back together other wise i may be rebuilding my bottom end if it locks up because those washers fell off I’m gonna be worrying about it every time I ride.

    • @Fixyourdirtbike
      @Fixyourdirtbike  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Oh no! I have had problems with that in the past. I would use some lithium grease to hold the washer in place during assembly. If you're worried, you could pull the cover and try that.

    • @legendarybeefcurtain9502
      @legendarybeefcurtain9502 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Fix Your Dirt Bike that’s what I ended up doing and sure enough the exhaust govener washer was off sitting at the bottom glad I took it back apart, little tip if you can’t get the cogs to line up when putting the case back together set the kick starter back on and gently move it to rotate them until it slides right in place

    • @Fixyourdirtbike

      No, the impeller shaft is one piece. You'll need to replace it.

    Hi john, should the tiny opening you showed at the start of the video have a plug in it as I have a plug stuffed into my hole and thought that it needed to be replaced? But could not find the plug or screw for it. thank you for the video.

    • @Fixyourdirtbike
      @Fixyourdirtbike  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That hole needs to be open and unrestricted. That is the only way to see if your water pump seals have failed. Well, this or blowing up your engine...

      You can change the water pump gasket without removing the crankcase cover.

      @@Fixyourdirtbike I found this message on thumpertalk. Looks like there is just one seal behind the impeller. Book says you have to remove the right crankcase cover to replace it. But you may be able to just remove the waterpump cover and impeller then pry out the old seal and press in the new one. Looks like an easy job.

      Drain the oil from the plug at the bottom of the crankcase. Replace the plug after the old oil is drained, and refill with fresh oil through the fill cap on top of the right crankcase cover. Refill with 0.75L of 10w-40 SF/SG 4-Stroke engine oil.

      I would estimate this is a 2 hour service in a shop plus parts. IDK where you are, but shop rates around here are $80/hr.
