For me, I love All for nothing even more since Taeyeon was the one wrote the lyrics. Her voice, which created the vulnerable atmosphere broke my heart, but healed it at the same time. And this album is def brought to another level thanks to her vocal delivery, like they became colourful gemstones with Taeyeon's lapidary. Tbh, To.X could just be an ordinary song, not too impressive regarding the instruments if it was sang by someone else, but Taeyeon really brought life into it, which makes it a bop
I totally understand! This album is fantastic. It’s very subdued from her previous music, but I like that she’s trying different things. It’s refreshing and fun :)
Love the review. I totally agreed on all the points you mentioned and I'm in live with All for Nothing. She did have The Magic of Christmas Time from her Christmas album in 2017. This one is in full English Language.
I would love for one day Taeyeon will release her self-composed album, like in 2015 when we got Kiss My Lips from BoA which is her first entirely self-composed album. I think with her personal music taste and her ability on story-telling, even with songs she didn't write, Taeyeon's self-composed album will be one of the biggest moments in K-Pop for sure.
Yes! I totally agree! BoA's Kiss My Lips album was great so I hope in the future Taeyeon really gets to do something entirely self-composed or at least co-written on every track. I'm sure she would absolutely CRUSH it! :)
Loved your analysis! This album does sound a bit subdued but it’s still a good album nonetheless (when are Taeyeon’s albums not good anyways 🤷♀️). She has gotten to the level where she doesn’t have to belt to prove that she can sing. Her vocal techniques are still unmatched (in my biased opinion) and it is interesting to listen to how she sings in a new way in the song Melt Away. Melt Away is my fav song in the album followed by Burn It Down! Also I think the instrumentals of all the songs in this album are so good (Melt Away, Fabulous etc) I’m gonna try to check if someone made raw instrumental version of the song. Hopefully SM will release behind-the-scenes of her recording all the songs in this album 😭 especially since we’re not getting any proper promotion this time around…

If u find some let me know, I’d be curious to hear them! I know 🥲 I wish we’d get some promo for this album. Considering it got delayed a million times I can’t say I’m super surprised. 😐 SM’s had a *bit* of a tough year hahaha
