Setting Up a CO2 Reactor

In this video, I will walk through unboxing and installing a CO2 reactor for your aquarium aquascape. A CO2 reactor is a great alternative to having a diffuser inside of your tank because it provides higher diffusion efficiency of carbon dioxide into the water column and removes an additional piece of equipment from inside the tank. I have the same reactor. Here a tip to completely remove all air for the reactor. Connect a long air tube hose from the reactor and place it above your aquarium. Open the valve on the reactor and all the air gets pushed out some water will go up the tubing but that’s why you place it over the aquarium or clip it over it. Wait a minute or so, all air free! And primed. Close the valve on the reactor remove air tube and connect your co2 hose and just reopen the valve and good to go. Helps when doing maintenance.

The filter was not busted, when you tried to purge it connected to the reactor it creates an air lock, just first prime the filter and then connect it to the reactor!!!! Also turn the ractor upside down to take out all the air in it!! Good job

I have the same reactor and mine have no air to create a vortex and full of water. Don't know if its the right set up way to do it full of water. I see your buble counter is about a bubble a second. I have my bubble way up much more bubbles. Really don't know if the CO2 is dissolving correctly. Do your drop checker turn green? Any Hint.

bro i see tht u can put bio media in those reactor would it effect co2 diffusing plus i see lots of buuble in your aquarium

Read and do research. You’ll want this reactor paired with a filter like the eheim 2217 with high flow rate.

@@brandhark7935 The cheap blue check valve has one side that says “OUT”. Does this face towards the tube (and into the reactor) since CO2 is coming out of a tank and in to the reactor through this check valve or is it the other way around? This thing came with no instructions in a box with only Chinese characters so I’m not really sure. Appreciate your help in advance.
