He is good at defense tho is what I’m saying. Like he’s not just “good enough.” Rockets players were 5/14 when guarded by him. Against the Bulls, Lavine had 25 points halfway through the 3rd, they switched Green on him and he had 2 points the rest of the night. Ajax is also 2nd in league in opp fg%. These young guys can legitimately defend at a high level.

This comes after the league introduced the “in-season tournament,” all in an effort to discourage players from taking nights off and to ensure more participation during the regular season. At what point does this stop being an NBA problem and become a player issue? Will the league eventually draw a line and say, “enough is enough”?

AJ Green is a pretty good defender actually. LaVine and Jalen Green had some issues scoring on him one-on-one. He might be a really impactful piece. If the Bucks can add another defender that can knock down a three at a decent clip they could be dangerous as Middleton returns here shortly.

With Miami, it would have been the same story if they drafted McCain or Knecht and Ware had gone elsewhere. I don't think any of them would have played significant minutes this early into the season. Spo trusts Dru Smith, rightfully so, and he clearly will ride with Josh Richardson hell or high water. Knecht is even more of a stretch to play in Miami with Herro, Dunc, Highsmith all having secured their roles. Then you talk about Miami's record and in the next segment excuse Milwaukee's. Miami has lost three games by three points or less, with the Kings game being lost because of a last-second tip-in and the Pistons game being lost because a last-second alley-oop and then Spo's first game-costing mistake of his career. We’re in a weird transition period. Spo wants to give Jimmy his chances to win it, but that’s over. That said, the Heat aren’t far from being on the upswing. Herro is playing like a legit star, Bam is in a rut but he’s still young and we know what he can do, Jaime is a solid young piece, Jovic is a solid young piece, Ware has tons of potential, Pelle has the makings of a high caliber role player. That’s not a bad start on the road to the next iteration of the Heat. They just need to work out what to do with Jimmy and Terry

OKC is the standard out west right now, the west runs through them. And eye test alone, the lakers do not compare to OKC.

With Miami, it would have been the same story if they drafted McCain or Knecht and Ware had gone elsewhere. I don't think any of them would have played significant minutes this early into the season. Spo trusts Dru Smith, rightfully so, and he clearly will ride with Josh Richardson hell or high water. Knecht is even more of a stretch to play in Miami with Herro, Dunc, Highsmith all having secured their roles.
Then you talk about Miami's record and in the next segment excuse Milwaukee's. Miami has lost three games by three points or less, with the Kings game being lost because of a last-second tip-in and the Pistons game being lost because a last-second alley-oop and then Spo's first game-costing mistake of his career. Miami will be fine.

We’re in a weird transition period. Spo wants to give Jimmy his chances to win it, but that’s over. That said, the Heat aren’t far from being on the upswing. Herro is playing like a legit star, Bam is in a rut but he’s still young and we know what he can do, Jaime is a solid young piece, Jovic is a solid young piece, Ware has tons of potential, Pelle has the makings of a high caliber role player. That’s not a bad start on the road to the next iteration of the Heat. They just need to work out what to do with Jimmy and Terry

Portland could really use 36 year old player coach Jeff Green on the last year of his deal to teach Sharpe/Scoot/Clingan how to WIN long-term.
