Till this day I cannot understand why this band does not have a billion views on you tube in my opinion they are simply one of the bests bands on the planet
My God, I was such a huge The Tea Party fan in the 90s and I still listened to their old stuff over the years. I can't believe this came out all these years ago and I just discovered this in 2021. This is such an awesome song. I get shivers listening to it. I love these guys!
One of the most overlooked trio of super talented musicians out there. Power. Poise. Melodicism. Integrity. What else does a listener need? The solo is a true beauty, heavy Jimmy Page influence sure, but the phrasing, the spaces between the notes are mesmerising. This can't be taught. Its a gift. Thank you TTP.
Growing up around this band from the city of Windsor area and watching them grow from the coach and horses where they were the house band for a few years this band came out strong . If they would have been there in 1985ish they would have changed the sound of rock and roll ... very underrated for sure ..
I was sailing my boat to Asia listening to this song over and over when I broke up with my misses. Fitted exactly at that moment. One of the best Tea Party songs ever but they have many.
So, another year went by. One step closer to the Ocean at the End, you could say. Wasn't the best year, far from it, but thankfully I had this song to help me venture through these times and now it resonates with my soul much, much greater. Thank you, Tea Party, for this life-changing piece of art, and see you next year.
You want, you take You need and you receive I can't follow my bliss Can't go on, can't go on Always feeling like this now So, my love There's a postcard that I'll send It's from the ocean, it's from the ocean The ocean at the end I can't blame this game All my cards have been dealt I'm trumped, I've been tamed And lately now, lately now I don't even feel like myself So, my love There's a postcard that I'll send It's from the ocean, it's from the ocean The ocean at the end Lately now I don't feel like myself So, my love There's a postcard that I'll send It's from the ocean, it's from the ocean It's from the ocean, it's from the ocean See those starlit skies, I'm so alone I hear those angels cry, please take me home See those starlit skies, fly so alone 'Cause I, I remember, please take me home Take me home Please take me home
I’ve been a fan of The Tea Party for over 20 years. They were the first band I ever saw live back in 2003 and I have loved almost all their material. Correspondences was my favourite song for over a decade…. Until I heard this. This has surpassed Correspondences to be my favourite song. It is mind blowing how they came out with one of their greatest musical outputs over twenty five years into their existence. I’m truly spellbound every time I hear this track.
These guys were my first concert 17 years ago and I finally got the chance to see them again just the other day. They still put on a show that blows their already amazing albums out of the water.
What an amazing band, so underated. I remember hearing them from the first time in London Ontario in the 90's and turning to my buddy next to me and saying to him these guys are gonna be big one day...
This beautiful song speaks to my soul too, I absolutely love this awesome Canadian music group, one of my top favorites, the music video reminds me of my home island of paradise called Alert Bay BC, just off the northern tip of Vancouver Island 🏝️ I call it our island of paradise because we are surrounded by the Pacific ocean, beautiful mountains, the wildlife makes it extra special, but back to the Tea Party's music, they are so amazingly talented, I absolutely love them and will continue to love them throughout the years ahead 💞
The fact that this song doesn't have a billion hits is proof that it is a great song. You need some intellectual capacity and a bit of heartbreak to grasp this song. It is a very good song. It has great lyrics, great music and the ending is Epic.
Love you guys! Growing up in the 90's you were the shit and rarely a day went by I wasn't listening to your great tunes, sadly your deep and meaningful lyrics have fallen out of style in favor of this modern 'party pop' crap that a 5 year old could come up with. :( You're still the best to me. (I'm sure you're probably just someone managing the account not a band member but still, Love you all!) 93 93/93
Oh, good luck with the tour as well, I was supposed to be at the London show but sadly something came up so I likely won't make it. Hopefully there's a next time. :)

@@trock8930 - Thanks, I remember hearing The Tea Party many years ago from some fun (but silly) motorcycle racing game, and the song was Temptation! I immediately fell in love with their sound after that song, and as you mentioned some of the middle eastern experiments. That's great you also write music!
IKARIANOFFICIAL If I still rode motorcycles I’d definitely listen to them while riding. My writing style varies and now I want to hear it toward the middle eastern influence. Just got a looping pedal and can’t wait to experiment with it!
I’m from Buffalo, following The Tea Party from the start. We know them on the border, but they never went for the big USA contract. Share the videos, spread the word great rock isn’t dead.
See those starlit skies? I'm so alone. I hear those angels cry, "please take me home." See those starlit skies. I'm so alone. Cause I, I remember, please take me home.
I listened to their new song last night on CHOM, quite amazing as ever. I would like to see them when they return to Montreal, very mystical moody sound..
Can't think of any other band that the melodies and lyrics touch your soul so deeply. I've seen them in concert 3 times so far, met them once an experience i will never forget. They are just so down to earth. Keep it up guys!
Sure but it's deeper than that. It rings deep for me because I had a child that died. If you've ever gone through that, it's the deepest pain that you can never drink away.
I lost my sister 10 ago and feel so sorry for my mom, wish i could erase the pain...Roland!!! my dad drank himself to death get help mate before its too late buddy, god bless you both......peace!
I remember some guy I met introduced me to these guys before they dropped their first album. Told me they were going to be big. He didn't lie. I actually ended up meeting Jeff Martin at a bar in 93' after they opened for Blind Melon. Great Canadian band. Seen them many times.
Thank god they came back, iloved the Melbourne live gig its was amazing i had forgottwn how powerful they were i took my two sisters who had heard them over and over from me and became big fans it was such an epic performance
How can it be so good !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Most underrated band as say Ray Fiannaca !!!!!!!!!!!! But quality is not quantity !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Most of humanity can't understand that quality......................
Drevilrodrigues I’ve personally felt like Tea Party was way ahead of its time. I followed them in western New York and Canada in the 90s and early 2000s before the split. On stage, they’re incredible! Definitely one of the most underrated bands in my generation, for sure. Maybe it’s because they refused to work with a label. Idk but I never stopped loving their work. And Jeff Martin is not only a brilliant writer but has a commanding voice. I’m very glad you’re enjoying their music. Have you sampled Edges of Twilight yet?
What a great fucking band.. why aren't they worldwide famous? don't be greedy Canada, SHARE YOUR ARTISTS!!! I had to come here and find them now.. 2017.. WHY?????

The most underrated under the radar band EVER. JEFF MARTIN RULES !!!!
This is up there with their early stuff. Most underrated band ever.
Over twenty years listening to the Tea Party and I love them as much as ever now , if not more.
There is something truly beautiful about this song. Its not just the lyrics but its also in the enchantment of the music on the soul.
Isnt it !!! I love this song sooo beautiful the ending is so insanely addictive what a song

The ocean at the end

All my cards have been dealt
I'm trumped, I've been tamed
And lately now, lately now
I don't even feel like myself
So, my love
There's a postcard that I'll send
It's from the ocean, it's from the ocean
The ocean at the end
Lately now I don't feel like myself
So, my love
There's a postcard that I'll send
It's from the ocean, it's from the ocean

Massive song and killer guitar solo
I love The Tea Party, what an amazing and beautiful song.
Pretty brilliant ! I like the pink floydish atmosphere and solo
The TEA PARTY meets Leonard Cohen meets Pink Floyd.
They even have Ian Anderson from pink floyd comtempory's Jethro Tull playing flute on this song.
So in love with this song for many reasons, especially now.
What an awesome track one of their best can't go wrong or they can't do no wrong tea party
Love these guys! Been listening for years and I for one am glad they've never become mainstream!
this song goes well with depression and alcoholism, been listening to it non-stop for the past two months
