Hi guys, Chopper here, cool video, I used to assemble all the N4s in the late 90’s when the custom shop was in Chicago on Elston Ave, it was great being part of such a talented team and cool to build guitars with Nuno’s name on it. I literally assembled hundreds of N4s between ‘96 and ‘01. Those double necks were quite a challenge. Keep Rockin’
Waited for Nuno to come out of A venue after performing here in Great Falls MT so he could sign my N2. He looked beat tired but put down his stuff down and was gracious and signed it.He is one of my all time favorite guitarist along with RR and VH
This is one of the most informative Washburn videos period! This deserves all the views not only for Nuno, but the master builder and all the information of all the nuno models we all need!
A long time ago, back in the late 90's, I had two N4's - one actual Padauk model (which I was told was very rare and handmade in Chicago, Padauk body and neck, ebony fingerboard, black headstock logo, found it in a pawnshop in Maine for $1200), and another quilt top model with a swamp ash body. I sold them in the early 2000's but miss them, they were truly great guitars, especially that Padauk model, it just felt so good to play.
Almost 20 years ago, I bought a sunburst N4 on the internet from a brick and mortar shop in the US (I'm in France). UPS delivered a cardboard box containing a metal case and... no guitar in it ! Turns out the the guy had forgotten to put the guitar in the case. I was pretty pissed off, as you can imagine (thought I had been scammed). I contacted the shop, and the guitars was still hanging on the wall in the US. I ended up receiving it a couple of days later in a gigbag.
yeah that Reb Beach signature is a beauty! I just saw Reb playing that one off guitar "that stays in tune" which was mentioned in a previous MOS video. Hell I took photos of the guitar just sitting there under the spotlight.
Awesome video thanks MOS!!! . Chris is such a cool guy and Nuno seems that is more open than ever, definitely an honest guy with his music, never accepted to make his own pickups because what he got is what is the best for him! is not about $$ ...that is honesty! Respect!
Fantastic Derek! You have been on a roll lately with videos like these. I’m really starting to dig your channel, and it’s quickly becoming one of my favorites!!! 🔥🔥🔥🥲
On my 21st birthday in 1990, my dad bought me a four hundred quid Washburn kc70v. It’s a little beauty. A proper 80s metal super strat and it is still a monster guitar….it will NEVER be sold……wish I could afford a real N4..coveted them for years….
LOL. I'm the guy who owned the "4N" and sold it on ebay. What do you want to know? The serial number? Pictures of me holding it? The story of the signature that's on the back of the headstock Nuno did for me in 1993? I owned it for the first 14 years and sold it on eBay, not to a person in the Netherlands, but to another person who sold it again a couple years after me. I'm easy to find and I'll tell you what you want to know. Any one of you can contact me if you want. I reached out to Washburn at the time to tell them all I knew about the guitar's past, but they didn't respond. I honestly am taken back by the apparent need to "debunk" the info I provided, and do so incorrectly with such smugness. Actually, you've said I made big claims that I never made, so that's a bit off-putting. For instance, I've never said it was a prototype. Now I feel like I've stepped on Nuno's and Washburn's toes somehow for sharing my first-hand knowledge of the guitar. It was clearly not welcome. I had no idea it wouldn't be. I only did so because I saw interest generated by the manufacture of the 4N with scant details available. I'm just a guy who happened to own and love that guitar. The story of it for the first 14 years is mine, not Nuno's or Washburn's, and if they don't want to actually know, it doesn't change things. But nothing I've ever said about my time with that guitar is false. Cool video otherwise.
Hey man! Sorry if it came off a bit “smug”, it was all in good fun and your video is AWESOME! I actually watched it a view times👍 Also as Nuno mentioned - your story may be true - he needs to look into it 🎸 I’m sure having as many guitars as Nuno it can be easy to sometimes forget all the fine details. I appreciate your willingness to shine a light into the originals of your N4 and again we didn’t mean any harm by the mention. Thanks again for checking out the video!👍🎸
@@MastersofShred I accept your apology. If that was all the video had said, it wouldn't have bothered me. And if he reaches back into the recesses of his mind, he might ever remember when he signed it for me in 1993, because at that time I gave him a miniature wooden pin of the N4 I had a local guy make for me. @@ToddzillaGuitars Thanks Todd. And my memory is very clear. I sanded it over the years little by little, focusing more on the places where it kept turning green, from around the 5th fret toward the nut, though I did sand it all over, but less so further up the neck. I'm 53 years old, I've been playing electric guitar since 1989 and listening to Extreme since 1991. I'd like to point out a few things because I have the impression that Nuno tells a different story each time: 1) In an interview from the early 90s, Nuno said he had owned a Jackson at the beginning of his career and had voluntarily removed all the paint (and considering how much Jacksons cost at the time, it doesn't match what he says in this interview) 2) on the cover of Extreme's first album and in the Kid Ego video, Nuno plays a black guitar that is not mentioned in this interview 3) in other interviews from the time, Nuno said the body of his first N2 is an unpainted body he bought directly from the Schecter factory (and not in a guitar store as he claims in this new video) 4) Washburn guitars have not been found in any store in Europe for at least 20 years and I would like to understand why
So to clarify, the Pickups are Bill Lawrence USA ...now are L500XL or L500? (Not bill and Becky) at least for the N24 to the all N4, 4N etc ?? so which N4s has the Thinner Necks?? (90s)?

"As long as it's not the ABC fact checking that I saw during the debate" Nuno just became my favorite guitar player of all time. Obviously very smart and perceptive. The gaslighting from the left is HORRENDOUS. Thank you Nuno. Thank you.
I bought pornographitti because of a 1 page story in a youth magazine back in the day, it said to the left theres Nuno Bettoncourt, who can play faster than his shadow!
washburn has reduced its electric guitars production To Sona Master and Nuno's Models... but there's one model wich was initially played by him wich was the P series and those guitars rocked, I wish they reissued them
Thanks so much for watching the video! Hope you enjoyed it! I have an Indonesian model and the QC manager called in sick that day.
Everywhere is out of stock! Noooooooooo! We need them😄asap
"As long as it's not the ABC fact checking that I saw during the debate" Nuno just became my favorite guitar player of all time. Obviously very smart and perceptive. The gaslighting from the left is HORRENDOUS. Thank you Nuno. Thank you.
In Minneapolis last month he was all God bless America and stayed pretty neutral. One can read between the lines. Thumbs up Nuno.
One of my favorite guitars of all time
I bought pornographitti because of a 1 page story in a youth magazine back in the day, it said to the left theres Nuno Bettoncourt, who can play faster than his shadow!
Until this day, I still regret selling my original N4 left handed 😢😢😢
I love this channel 🤘😎🤘
X2N, similar pick up but more of a face melt mode 🎉
Ever hear of a little era called "The 70's" ?
All guitars were natural there.
Schaller have been doing choosable radius on the saddles and the nut for forever....
Ibanez had the 540S OL oil finish mahogany in around 89
Acrylic!!! YES PLEASE!!!
N8 DOUBLE YES PLEASE!!!
Nuno!!!
Why wasn't the Nele being discussed?
washburn has reduced its electric guitars production To Sona Master and Nuno's Models... but there's one model wich was initially played by him wich was the P series and those guitars rocked, I wish they reissued them
I didn't even know people still ordered custom shop after Dime left
I didn’t know nuno was so “normal”
Is something wrong with the sound at the end of the video?
Thanks so much for watching the video! Hope you enjoyed it! Yes, so believe it or not we faced some super weird technical difficulties when Nuno stepped into the room and our multiple mics actually all went south towards the end 😳 Luckily we were able to get the majority of it filmed the way we would have liked :) 🎸🎸
Master of shred great video but one missed oppertunity why not ask why the decadent dance n3 never went into production
I hope nuno gonna be at namm 25
Anyone else getting sound issues near the end?
What happened with the audio at the end? Sounds like a zoom meeting. 😢
Yeah, sadly ALL of our mics glitched out towards the home stretch of the interview😳 We’ve literally never experienced something like that before. I’m just happy we got thru the majority of the show with great audio 😬👍🎸🙌🙌
N7?
N4’s had Kahler Steeler bridges, NOT Spyders.
Nuno is based!
Is Nuno eating?
I'm starting to get worried
Seems that "custom shop" is all that exists of Washburn anymore...
Davies N4
Nuno needs a break. They’ve been hustling. It doesn’t get easier.
John Lennon played a stripped guitar in the 60's! No colour or lacquer.
Is this guy a famous guitar player or something…………..😂😂😂😂JK….
Gibson did natural a hundred years ago.
Bad quality video, maybe 360p 🥲🥲🥲
😂 nuno don’t seams to care about bridge or pick up! Get me the F.. outa here I need a naps
24 fret or die
The neck pickup doesn't sound as good in the 24-fret position as it does in the 22-fret position
Man!!! the demoncrat in nuno is wreaking havoc on his aging process isn’t it.
ASK NUNO ABOUT EDWARD VAN HALEN......
Nuno looks exhausted and pale ! Go get some sleep dude x
Nah, he's just a pork chop
Nuno is MAGA? \m/.
