    I’ve heard of yarrow but didn’t know what it looked like. Thanks for sharing!

      Don't confuse it with queen Anne's lace .... remember the saying "queen Anne has furry legs" yarrow does not have "furry legs" under its blooms

    I’ve used Yarrow as a mosquito repellent right on my skin… I’ve used it in places where 100% deet was wanted… they will land on you and I have found will even bite but something in the plant helps the bites to heal faster… I was told that Yarrow has limonene in it and that is what repels bugs… it’s a very under rated plant in my mind…

      So hard to find where I live. Could plant the domesticated ornamentals but wild is needed.

      Planted it but never flowered. Have lots of Queen Anne’s lace but yarrow never flowered. Can you use leaves.

    Nice tripod G2. Closest one to my three piece I've seen...that a blacksmith made at a re-enactment gathering.
    Is yours a three piece that separates, so can used as horizontal as well? (I guess I don't see any hooks on the legs). Side view not in the video.
    ~ I found your FB page, I'll post a couple photos for you.
    I think you'd like it's versatility/use options.

      oh yeah, nice yarrow vid.
      It's not real common my way top side Land of Lincoln.
      Up at gramp's old digs, in middle of yard where I mow there's quite a bit.
      Each year's visit I harvest some for justin case I get cut to make a poultice before I mow.
      Crazy scent in the yard after I mow.
      ~ As some may have mentioned, you could have done a closeup of the yarrow leaves/froms.
      Once seen in detail of how feathery, it's hard to forget. Then scent check.
      Not every look alike.

    Hate to be a stickler but it’s ‘astringent’ not ‘extringent’. But thank you for your time and knowledge. I love yarrow; one of my favourite wild plants. I did not know about the mosquito smudge thanks again, I’ll be trying that one.

Have a notebook putting all kinds of info in and bought lots of books. Won’t be any internet for us pee ons. War in Israel another harbinger. God is good. All the time.

    What's the best color yarrow to plant for medicinal purposes?

    • @ellenclayton5955
      @ellenclayton5955 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      White because it is the wild Yarrow. Other colors have been developed but they do not have the same properties as the wild white. Occasionally in my area I might find pale pink in the wild but I am not sure if it is truly wild or seeded by birds from someone's garden

    Is it similar to Queen Ann's lace?

      I was about to ask same question

    • @MirrimBlackfox
      @MirrimBlackfox 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It looks similer but, yarrows leaves are more feathery fluffy looking, QAL leaves are compound and fern like, Yarrow's individual flowers are larger often only a little smaller then a dime, rather then the pinhead sized flowers of QAL. Be careful though, because while QAL is harmless (even eatable! it is the wild form of the carrot), it has several very dangerous look a likes (Water Hemlock, Hogweed, etc) which makes being careful a must.

    • @clairedgaia3626
      @clairedgaia3626 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No. The leaves, fliwers very different. Smell yarrow ,crush it, i dont touch queen annes lace cuz it looks too much like another plant that makes painful blisters .
