Thanks for the sub, I appreciate that! They are great pedals! That's awesome you can do heel toe! I need to get better with my double bass. I hear tighter spring tension is good for faster stuff. That PDP pedal is a different world compared to this pedal for sure!
Thank you, I definitely agree! Still working just as good as the day I bought them so far! The longboard feature for sure is really nice! You rock, Marcus! 🥁❤
I have a question, I heard from someone you can convert the double pedal into two single pedals. I have two bass drums and I primarily want to use two single pedals but if it comes to a time where I only have one bass drum, I want to be able to use my same pedals on one bass drum. So I was wondering if this is possible and if someone could help with the process.
I slightly messed around with my pedal before responding, you could swap the spring, beater and parts over to the left side. Only thing that I noticed is the pearl spring screw on my pedal particularly, is larger than the supplied left side spring slot. That can be remedied fairly easily. Seems like it can be done!
Personal preference. I think if you're looking for double bass and gaining speed, the longboard configuration might be better. But I would also say you can probably achieve high speeds with either one as this pedal is pretty quick either way depending on how you adjust the settings. Myself, I use longboard configuration. I wear a size 12 US shoe size, so longboard feels better just because of that, regardless of how fast I'm trying to play, haha!
@@jamesmyersdrums The only reason I said that is because you took the time to answer back but didn't answer the question lol. You could have just waited till you got up tomorrow. And I'm not sure it helps to like your own comments lol.
I was working with a dw 3000 as well. Yes, the pearl demon drive feels much faster. Going from chain drive to direct drive also makes a huge difference. I can't speak on the 9000, never had one of those.
I owned a Demon Drive direct drive double pedal for only as long as it took me to sell it on eBay. I was truly disappointed by it. To me (and I've owned everything from Ludwig Speed King to DWs and Tamas) it felt sluggish and unresponsive. This would be the last pedal I would consider now. By the way I'm currently using Yamaha FP-9D's both single and double depending upon the situation, and am extremely pleased with them.
Excellent! I'm glad you found something that makes you happy and keeps you drumming my friend! Bummer it didn't work out for you. I'm still using mine and appears to be just as responsive as the day I bought them. Which is much more responsive than any pedal I've ever owned personally which is only a few. I'm not an expert though. But perhaps it just depends on many factors between the pedals and that person, list goes on for days. I've heard both sides of the fence after posting this video just for fun, haha! It sure is interesting to say the least. Have an awesome day! 🥁🥁🥁
You must have got a bum deal, I mean if El Estepario Siberiano can drum the way he does and swears by this set IDK what to say. Great pedal set imo congrats on the video.
I love me some Sweetwater. I love their selection and service. I wish the Guitar Center I go to had more higher end pedals out and to try. They mainly have the DW 5000 as the highest end. And just started carrying the Tama Iron Cobra 900 power glide. The other pedals are lower end models,
Thanks for the comment! The audio in this video is from my drum cover of Atreyu, which is up on TH-cam here, and is from my acoustic drum set, no samples. I just play in a small room, perhaps that’s why it sounds like that, have a great day!
Very true, I guess you could say that about tama, ludwig and gibraltar as well, as they've also had similar beaters. I wonder who did it first? Haha! 🤷♂😂
It’s a different beast for sure! I came from chain drive myself and I’m still getting used to it! It’s a great pedal, but super fast and very different! Keep at it, don’t give up! You got it, haha! 🥁
Thanks for choosing the Pearl Demon Drive Pedals!
Thank you for making fantastic quality products! - The best reason to play drums
Hi Pearl I love your Drums ❤
These are the greatest pedals I have ever owned. I had the PDP and got these and I can do heel toe now.

Those are beautiful pedals James 😊 Nice, I love how you can change them!!! 😊❤

Those New Pedals Rock just the looks alone are super dope. Awesome Unboxing Thanks for that awesome display of some kickass Equipment Nice job Pearl;)
Absolutely, nice job Pearl!
I had this set up and admired the many adjustments it had to offer but the DW direct drive set up is so much better. A lot less moving parts.
Awesome man, at the end of the day as long as you’re drumming, it doesn’t matter what pedal you use! Have a killer day man!

got these today. pretty close to brand new for only 300 bucks
Oh shoot! Now that’s a steal!
Do you like them in the regular board or longboard configuration better?
Any chance of answering the question lol?

@@jamesmyersdrums but thank you for your opinion. I'm trying to decide between the pearl demon or the demon XR
I also am working with the dw 3000. Does the pearl feel a lot faster and less effort. I can't decide between the pearl and de 9000

how many dollars the original price would take to buy a new pearl p3002d?
I bought my double pedal from Sweetwater for the standard price. I think around $849 USD

Looks like they took a few pages from Yamaha ball bearing everything especially the beaters look just like YamahaS
Very true, I guess you could say that about tama, ludwig and gibraltar as well, as they've also had similar beaters. I wonder who did it first? Haha! 🤷♂😂
