Pearl makes wood beaters for the demon drive, they are round as well. They have a shock absorber in the beater. I own a demon drive and the felt is crap but the wood rocks and has a weighted feel to them
Also because they build it with the extra weight from the bar in mind. Put ur bar on and set ur settings the same and then adjust one of ur pedals until they match again. Setting sure there for u to get urbprefered aettungs faster but not always perfect.
