  • (UPDATE: As of December 20/21, 2018 - depending on current timezone)
Added English CC (Closed Captions), only for the gaijins (foreigners) about this game, while playing on what's going on. However, take note that some of them are not 100% accurate from what those Japanese are saying during travel. But, I tried to fully understand the situation, so as you may not ask again about it. Will also update to one of these videos to ensure its compatibility and satisfaction. Stay tuned and enjoy!
*BONUS - I also add the Japanese CC, but in a watered down version (Station names and some dialogues).
Since there were no English titles from TH-cam and throughout the net, well, I decided to play this very fascinating, yet an immersive Japan-only released train simulator game called Densha de GO (電車でGO!).
This is well-known for the KiHa 58 series, until they were gone in service as of 2010. Travelling from Kameoka (亀岡駅), until the last station of JR Kyoto Line, which is none other than Kyoto, this is the Basic Tutorial of the original Densha de GO!, in which High Score support or rank-in is unavailable on that route (But how did they include that in the High Score Rankings? They should have been removed that one in the first place, as you've seen during the whole long attract mode, or likely to be reworked by then. Well, those were the days…).
And yes, I really enjoyed this game VERY very much playing in MAME (Although with the usual mistakes and some "little bothersome moments"), thus I can understand from what they are saying in Japanese, and I saw that game on HEY! (Hirose Entertainment Yard) from Taito in Akihabara, Tokyo with the dedicated cabinet as well; but never managed to play, since I lacked some time to do playing things. However, I'll even try to come back for more.
Listed stations of this train line, very useful: (English + Japanese)
    1. Kameoka (亀岡) - Starts here - 1:11
    2. Umahori (馬掘) - 3:33 (✔)
    3. Hozukyo (保津峡) - 6:09 (✔)
    4. Saga - Arashiyama (嵯峨嵐山) - SKIPPED
    5. Uzumasa (太秦) - SKIPPED
    6. Hanazono (花園) - SKIPPED
    7. Nijo (二条) - SKIPPED
    8. Tambaguchi (丹波口) - 9:06
    9. Kyoto Capital (京都) - Last station
So, enough talk. Here are the specs. of my PC:
    TYPE: Gaming (All-In-One) Laptop
    NAME: HP OMEN
CPU: Intel Core i7-7700HQ @2.8GHz (Can overclock up to 3.8GHz)
GPU: Intel HD Graphics 630 + NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti
    RAM: 16 GB DDR4 (2x 8 GB RAM installed)
    OS: Windows 10 Home 64-Bit
HDD: 1 TB + 256 GB SSD Installed (Samsung and ST)
    Sound: Realtek HD Audio Driver
Captured via Plays.tv recorder (For only 1 time) and uploaded via Standard HD quality (720p48). Played in MAMEUIFX64 0.153 within 140% overclocked Main CPU + 110% DSP of Taito JC system.
NOTE: Although with GTX 1050 Ti graphics card, the opposite is true. Not even worthy to have complete overall emulation, since this PCB needs to rework out of the box, so I got around 88% to 99% of emulation.

Good video but the emulation definitely seems to need some work, not your fault ! This is the only line with diesels to run I think. I've done some vids on my channel if you want to check em out.

      Hello my friend!
Yes, I already watched your 2 videos of Densha De GO! Professional series about the KiHa 58 diesel densha. Well, it seems to have a lot of practice and patience, as well as the enjoyment that we need, to have a perfect run. Some Japanese "hardcore gamers" can perfect this route (Or as any route will do as possible, if they have some time in their leisures), as I've seen them on TH-cam (in Japanese language - Kanji, Katakana, Hiragana + Roomaji). But, they can be "cheating" in spite of using "Tool-Assisted programs", or they would prove they used fully manual controls (aka the controller itself).
Another thing, the routes going to Uzumasa until Tambaguchi (except from Tambaguchi - where it skipped, until the last stop - Kyoto) were only available in the Consoles (Windows, PS1, Sega Saturn), which is not present on this Arcade (MAME) version, even the EX version (2.4 J). Also, it is true that KiHa 58 is the only diesel train in this original game, while others are in AC/DC densha series (209, 221 and 205 series). Yes, thanks for the compliemnts too!
Anyways, thanks for watching. (Going next to 1000 / 1k views for this year, hopefully!)

0:45 it's not loading, it's actually waiting for you to apply maximum brake and minimum throttle before you start the game so you don't accidentally shoot the train off the station while it's still loading passengers. If you did so that part will only last for about 2 seconds.

Yes, I know - alternately as "please put the brakes to E-gear and put throttle lever to 0" (However, I put to the 4th braking gear, as seen in my videos of this game and as always, zero throttle gear). Otherwise though, you'll get a penalty at the start - giving the ATS alert for about 7 ~ 10 seconds I think.
However, as what I've mentioned earlier, there's nothing you could do if you press the START button (or even the horn pedal) especially this arcade version (as is originally, even in the real hardware did). You'll have to wait until the loading sequence ended for less than 30 seconds, unlike the PC version that you can likely do that so.
