You should probably pull the nock out before gluing your insert in. When you install the insert into the shaft with a nock installed on the back, air is being compressed in the shaft. As the insert dries the air can push the insert forward, youd never know it becuase you have an outer sleeve hiding the gap.
I used a slow melt (that way i can always adjust the outsert to align broadheads) - just make sure you dab some of it on the end of the shaft so you not only gluing the insert pin inside the arrow you have some glue between the outsert and arrow as well. Rock solid and if you ever need to adjust the outserts just heat and rotate
Victory needs to put drawings with dimensions on their website on outserts to people can figure out how to cut. Not everyone has a arrow saw and we rely on telling the dealer what length to cut the arrow before installing the outsets. You guys really can make this far easier - not a damn piece of info on your website, think of the customer journey. I bought raw shafts and did it myself as i had a saw. You are loosing sales because of stupid suff like this
A friend of mike took one of his arrows to the pro shop for reference on his new VAPs. Told them to make the arrow identical to his arrow. Yeah, they ended up longer. I told my buddy I wouldnt pay for them until he got what he asked for. It's an expensive mistake they made. This is probably part of why
yes, just note the total length of the outsert is ~ 1.25", and .25 (its not half an inch as this dude states)of that covers the end of the shaft, so you want to cut your arrows ~ 1 " shorter than usual to get your ovrerall arrow length the same
@@bavariasuhl thank you for clarifying this. By watching closely I could tell it is not 1/2" that covers the arrow shaft, I was thinking more like 5/8". I have this insert/outsert installed on my arrows at the moment and was wondering how to measure the arrow length in order to determine the FOC. I am thinking I should measure from the throat of the nock to the end of the carbon (including the 1/4" the insert is covering) and not to the end of the insert where the broadhead connects to it correct? What is the difference between these tko shafts vs the V1 vap elites ive been shooting for 6 years? Im assuming the arrow dimensions are the same ID/OD .166/.232? The newer TL series inserts work for older V1? Hard to find this info on the web.
The Shok Aluminum inserts that were included with the arrows SUCKS! They came off after a few shots. When I try to insert them back in the arrow they are very loose. Very disappointed!

Can you remove the inserts and put a different one in using that glue?
