I love your point about TCGs. I've been known to look up random Magic: the Gathering cards for inspiration. I don't even play the game anymore, but the creature designs and flavor text are just enough kick to get the wheels rolling.
I feel like there's plenty of worth for just shooting in the dark for inspiration, pick up a card, and make a story or NPC with it. And there's enough random card/ pack generators online that you could "open a pack" and let all the cards tell a story, some wacky tarot opening
We loved it so much! Both Thaddeus and it really helpful and he's already started writing an adventure based on all your useful tips! (which is why it took us a while to watch it all the way through we kept pausing and making notes! :D )
Man all your videos have been so helpful with my mind map of my ideas for the campaign im making! Thank you. Im still on the world building portion and i was hoping if you get the chance could you give your input on this idea? I want to do somthing following a sorta pseudo greek myth setting and ive really enjoyed the greek poetry and how it describes Athena as having Steely grey eyes. I want to incorporate that into like character creation where the players can be children of the gods and have these features or if they worship the god enough they get these features im just fearful that it might take away some design away on the player end of things.
So reasonable concern, but I have found that if characters are bought into a god, then tend to like when they can be identified with them. You can do it a few ways, maybe have a couple of ways it could be represented and let them choose, I understand not wanting to make player choices for them, it can easily be a quick path to someone being upset, but if you take time to explain the world building importance, I imagine most will be alright with Cosmetic labels to bring them into the world more naturally!! Sorry for the run-on sentence. This bird is short on sleep. If you have any follow-up questions just let me know. (Either hit me up on bluesky or preferably post a new comment so it flags and gives me a notification )
New video!

Enjoyed the video, it echoed some advice I've given in the past, but in a pithy acronym
Glad it was helpful!

And yet, a certain halfling still doesn't have a legit win. Just a couple shorts. Maybe that's all his legs can catch.
@@Creative-Magpie I ONLY HAVE 25ft MOVEMENT, ALRIGHT???
Hm....move, dash, bonus action dash. You're a rogue, right? A thief of joy? ;)
