I know your comment is from 5 years ago but fuck it. Can you believe there's a mod to remove that glorious voice? The divine phrase that has been graced to us by the lips of angels. There are a lot of intolerable people in the world, but even out of all the communists and feminists and child molesters, people who can't appreciate gathering their party before they venture forth are among the worst.
@Biake22 I made the loop as requested by most people: That is, the loop that plays during character creation. In fact, the song is divided into 4 parts: "A" being the part with the horns, which is the only one being excluded from the loop. B C and D keep looping for 14 minutes. Open Baldur's Gate II and see for yourself, this version of the loop is playing in the menu. :D Thanks for the early feedback!
This music is immortal, fucking phenomenal, i loved when it was during VIconia dialogs, but little bit slower and i wanted to romance her for some reason, but her ending is so fucking sad i can't
Over an hour spent creating my first character to this absolutely awesome tune, I can remember like yesterday although it was over 11 years ago, One of the single greatest games ever made
Best theme music ever. Many others come close, but this one tops them. There's so much inspiration to be drawn from just listening to the "story" of the music itself. Thanks for sharing
oh dat genie tease: "A princess is as old as the prince will be when the princess is twice the age that the prince was when the princess' age was half the sum of their present ages. How old are they?"
Ith ought SoA was the best they could ever accomplish...but when I first completed ToB I knew I was in love and that an episode of my life would never forget these epic moments, the stories, the legends, the strife, Amellysan...I miss you...
Do you really think that was my thought process? The first time I saw this game was in a shop, it said Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance, and as soon as I saw that name, I instantly pulled it from the shelf, looked at the back of the game and saw to my horror, that it was a dumbed down hack & slash action game.
The storyline is set in Baldur's Gate, that is why it is called a Baldur's Gate game. The fact that it has different gameplay doesn't mean it's not a Baldur's Gate game. Halo Wars is still a Halo game even though the gameplay is different. Operation Genesis is still a JP game even though it's a sim. EAW is still a SW game even though it's a strategy. You said it was fun as well, in your past comment, not just me. It's not a "ripoff" if the gameplay is different.
There's nothing wrong with casual gaming, and a game isn't garbage because it's "beginner" or easy. I'd definitely say I'm not a casual gamer, and I enjoyed Dark Alliance, because I didn't sit down and judge it or compare it against games I'm already in love with. I sat down, I played it, I didn't judge, I just sat down with my little brother, finished it, moved on and forgot about it until my brother wanted another run-through. What's wrong with that?
WOW fucking coincidence..I chose to listen to BG2 musics today then read the description and see the game was released SEPT 26th 2000. TODAYS BG2 11th anniversary
My opinion is that this game IS the holy grail of RPG games. And I have never said DA is fun. I think I have suggested that it might be, I wouldn't know. If you can find a game that's a better RPG and deserves the title, then please let me know, because I really want to play it. So yes, it's sacrilegious to me. I have my faith, and you have yours. And just because DA is set in Baldur's Gate, doesn't make it a BG game. BGII was set in Amn, remember?
i'm BORED, when will those tentacle thingis come and do whatever they want to do with us? ... i have seen enough anime to see where this is going, Imoen.
Yeah no kidding! :) Everytime I play I would soon get bored of my own character and wanted to start over. My best class is: Kensai/thief dual class edited to have 25 Dexterity (MAXED) and "Poison Weapon spell" using the Shadowkeeper mod! QUOTE: "Poisoned Kai Backstabs, what more could you ever need" Haha Good times. Been playing it since 2005.
And to this my kind, Sir, I'm a mindless fanboy who has completed both the true BG games numerous times. And why? Because I have never been able to find anything this good since the release of BGII. As I'm not into hack & slash, I find it odd that you suggest CoD as an alternative.
I was disappointed with Dark Alliance at first but like skullkid325, played it through with my brother and it wasn't that bad in the end. I mean it's no real baldur's gate and it can't compare, but it was decent enough in it's own right. Multiplayer anyways. Otherwise I agree with your statement.. Gaming industry has been focusing on a wider (dumber) audience for some time..
Well, someone deleted their comments. I don't care where the game is set, or if you find it fun. It's an action RPG and that has nothing to do with the REAL BG games. So call it what it is a hack & slash action RPG ripoff that was supposed to sell because of "Baldur's Gate" being included in the title.
Again, you also already said it was fun in an earlier comment. DA was mainly a console game, not a PC game, which would also account for its Hack 'n Slash genre since point and click games just don't work on console. And "sacreligious"? Seriously? BG isn't the Holy Gospel. It's a game. As much as you or I love it, that's all it is. I think BG is much much better then DA, I just didn't let that stop me from enjoying the game.
(Continued) Obviously having Baldur's Gate in the title was supposed to help sell, so what? It's supposed to peak old fans interest in the new series of games whilst getting new fans of the new series curious about the original BG series. I know several people who gave BG a try because they played DA and loved it, and now play a lot of old games which previously they wouldn't of looked twice at, so what's wrong with that? It doesn't diminish quality of the game. Saying it does is petty.
What are you talking about? I'm playing on a Windows 7 64-bit system with an Intel i7 and dual monitors. You're doing something wrong. Did you patch the game?
simbelanger1 I don't think so... but it works fine on my PC. My friend is having problems... with instalation. So that's why I'm kinda inerested in the remake.
So what if the names are similar? It's not an "insult", if anything it's the opposite of an insult. They have the same name because they're set in the same world, it has nothing to do with the gameplay. For a game to be part of a franchise it doesn't need to be a clone of the previous games, why should it be? What kind of a mindless fanboy just wants the same game over and over? If that's what you want then you, my friend, should try CoD.
dark alliance came out when games started to become walks in the park. see the coincidence, Dark Alliance,Dragon Age,DA,same casual beginner garbage to appeal to the mass of sheeps
Exactly, that's the problem. They sold out without any respect for the true BG games. But hey, what's sacreligious to me, isn't to you. You have your opinion and I have mine, and DA will never be anything more than a piece of crap in my book. If you have so much fun playing it, play it instead of continuing this discussion that will never come to a good conclusion.
How am I the immature one? You're prejudicing yourself against a game you admit is a good, fun game on the basis you prefer the originals. That's immature. I read every word you wrote, you're just disregarding my points because you can't think of any argument other then "it's not like the original games", you complete child. And by the way, I'm fairly certain the Baldurs Gate part of the Dark Alliance title is because the game is set in Baldurs Gate initially. Icewind Dale is not.
And getting all bent out of shape over two words being in front of the phrase "Dark Alliance" is not only pathetic and stupid it's downright childish. I can just picture it now. "hmm, well, that was a fun game with some nice characters fun coop great soundtrack and good gameplay but - oh, wait, WHAT?! IT SAYS BALDURS GATE INFRONT OF DARK ALLIANCE?!! BUT THEY HAVE A DIFFERENT GAMEPLAY ENGINE!!! WHAT THE FUCK, THIS GAME IS TERRIBLE!!! I HAVE TO TROLL BG VIDEOS AND INSULT DARK ALLIANCE FANS NOW!"
While your character does not have to eat , remember that YOU do. We don't want to lose any dedicated players
I just got that reminder awhile ago.
Reroll, reroll, reroll
I get shivers when the harp starts playing.
You must gather your party before venturing forth.

Przed wyruszeniem w drogę, należy zebrać drużynę.
Best game in the world, all time
"Here we go 18/00!" -- rolls a 3 -- "$hit!"
@Biake22

Thanks for the early feedback!
Now I can turn everything I do into character creation mode!
As a DM, I play this while prepping for my sessions.
Where is the clicking sound for rerolls ?
Thanks for uploading this. Simply the best RPG ever and I probably spent most of my time in the character creator listening to this music :D
Ahhh The child of Bhaal has awoken....
I just made my CV to this, fucking epic lmao
This music is immortal, fucking phenomenal, i loved when it was during VIconia dialogs, but little bit slower and i wanted to romance her for some reason, but her ending is so fucking sad i can't
Doesn’t Ascension change epilogues? I never actually went through with hers, but I’d bet it might be changed for the better
Nice work. It reminds me old days at high school when played this instead learning :) Music, video ... whole game is EPIC
Over an hour spent creating my first character to this absolutely awesome tune, I can remember like yesterday although it was over 11 years ago, One of the single greatest games ever made
Right click video > Loop
For the glory of Amn!
think im gonna start playing it again, for like the 400th time
Best theme music ever. Many others come close, but this one tops them. There's so much inspiration to be drawn from just listening to the "story" of the music itself. Thanks for sharing
The BEST fantasy music ever! You'll find here battle, romance, mystery, drama, fantasy...
24 years later still the greatest game of all time.
My god..the music.
You're compelling me to play it again!
Baldurs Gate 3 announced.
oh dat genie tease: "A princess is as old as the prince will be when the princess is twice the age that the prince was when the princess' age was half the sum of their present ages. How old are they?"
I do love the new Baldur's gate 3 but i would love it even more if they had used a version of BG2's main theme.
INCANTUS PULCHER IMPERIO
„𝓘𝓷𝓬𝓮𝓻𝓽𝓾𝓼, 𝓟𝓾𝓵𝓬𝓱𝓮𝓻, 𝓘𝓶𝓹𝓮𝓻𝓲𝓾𝓶” - 𝓽𝓱𝓮𝓻𝓮, 𝓯𝓲𝔁𝓮𝓭 𝓲𝓽 𝓯𝓸𝓻 𝔂𝓸𝓾, 𝓷'𝔀𝓪𝓱…
VITA MORTIS CAREO
VACHO VACHO VTERE
Playing this song at night makes me sleep like a baby.
agreed
even the manual of the game looked as romantic as the books of ad&d 2nd
Fucking bioware was EPIC back then, my god
bioware sucked dick back the too, black isle studios are the real heros here
I love this game. Thank God the enhanced edition is coming out.
Really smooth transition, great job!
For the glory of Amn I love these games. Got BG EE and BG II EE. Now I have them all from first edition...
The time when they were actual role playing games and visual novels.
chills all over
Ith ought SoA was the best they could ever accomplish...but when I first completed ToB I knew I was in love and that an episode of my life would never forget these epic moments, the stories, the legends, the strife, Amellysan...I miss you...
This music.... *epic shivers*
omg, i never played it before now, i just completed it. it's fking AWESOME!
BALDUR'S GATE 2 IS THE BEST GAME EVER !
@Kageniru totally agree. You don't play the characters in BG... you live them!
The time games were made for gamers and not for children.
The clearest indicator of rule set is the THAC0 (To Hit Armour Class 0) which did not exist in 3.5
I just need you to personally send me a good 24 hour version of this so I can play it on repeat
I lost the original video unfortunately, but I totally understand the need
you said the words i was trying to formulate!
The storyline is set in Baldur's Gate, that is why it is called a Baldur's Gate game. The fact that it has different gameplay doesn't mean it's not a Baldur's Gate game. I laugh hard when all time best RPGs includes Oblivion but not this. What has the world got into?
There's nothing wrong with casual gaming, and a game isn't garbage because it's "beginner" or easy. Romance II music extended.. please. x_x
Now to rewrite my biography slightly to include rude words.
Abazigal Love your username. Also BG3 HYPE!!!
any live version of bg music?
WOW fucking coincidence..I chose to listen to BG2 musics today then read the description and see the game was released SEPT 26th 2000. TODAYS BG2 11th anniversary
the base was 2nd ed
but it did have some stuff of 3rd
not 3.5

We should make this some countries national anthem... then I will move there.

It's not an opinion. It's a scorning of you. Dark Alliance is as much of a Baldur's Gate game as you are the queen of England.
i'm BORED, when will those tentacle thingis come and do whatever they want to do with us?

but that doesn't mean*
for sure
they made one of their last moves screwing the entire KOTOR series with SW online '-'
This game was based more around the 3.5 edition rules rather then 2nd. At least that's what it seemed like to me.
And then you realise that this game doesn't work on new systems...
kael6946 Well... no.
kael6946 I have Windows XP so I don't need this... but my friend will be happy when he will hear about that. Thanks.
I installed it from GOG a week ago on Windows 8.1. They did a damn good job making it work on newer systems.
Brace yourselves, angry BGII fans are coming. Dark Alliance, tsk tsk tsk.
So what if the names are similar? It's not an "insult", if anything it's the opposite of an insult. holy fuck what a waste of time Strafka and Skullkid got into, seen shorter novels
