I love the way Nita invited Orianthi to sing the chorus, sharing the same microphone. There´s no envy or bad vibes. And the way Alice presented them.. like a proud daddy with his daughters!
Dio, Ozzy & Alice tienen esa rara virtud de descubrir músicos alucinantes. Cuando ves estos shows, se parecen mucho más a una familia que una superbanda. Y el respeto infinito de Alice, conmueve. El último mohicano.
During the meet and greet, Alice proudly said "I just had the best two female guitarists on my stage at the same time....". He said it kinda like a proud papa would talking about his kids. It was really a cool moment to see him like that. I'll expand on that in the description.
@comatoo Done. Check the description, let me know what you think. When/where did you do you MnG with Alice?! Cool that you made it your youtube backdrop....uh, I'll assume that's you...
@@rbrbworld Yup that's me - Portland, OR - meet and greet was pretty quick but ironic about your story - I stumbled upon Nita after the meet and greet and talked with her and her boyfriend for a good 10 minutes in the theater!
I was at this concert at The Greek a few years ago. Nita and Orianthi were spectacular for this finale. I see Alice every time he hits L.A…. I must have seen him 30 times since I first saw him in 1971 when idiots in the audience were calling him awful names… but even back then he was the real deal performer. By the time he played “Under My Wheels” he had them won over. Will be seeing him and Nita again in April.
It's amazing how consistently Alice and his band perform at such a high level. He's never failed to entertain the hell out of me whenever I've seen him.
I think that has to with the fact that the tunes are fairly easy and Alice never really pushed his range, so his voice is still great even at his age. So of his covers with the vampires are really good.
I saw Alice years about 10 years ago at Wembley Arena. The music was spectacularly presented with a glorious lightshow as well as the great man himself, so professional. I had been a fan for many years, having been blown away on seeing 'School's Out' on Top of the Pops at the age of 13 in 1972. I always fancied him over the more popular squeaky clean Donny Osmond. My parents were not quite so sure I had my priorities right, but I was conscious of the street cred of heavy rock. Only years later did I wonder how much Alice had deliberately borrowed his image from Arthur Brown. I did what I suppose I can only call a bump and grind routine dressed as a St Trinian's sixth former for my 40th birthday party in 1999, which I still have on video. I was aware of Alice's golf prowess for some time now. I always enjoy his perceptive comments on other bands whenever I see him on TV shows. May he live longer in real life than he does on 'Welcome to My Nightmare'!
Seen him on the Poison tour right after Great White in Belfast and he was awful. Hall renowned for being bad acoustically and yet GW just before had delivered awesome quality sound. Alice tried to be loud and ended up being the biggest let down ever
She’s a perfect fit for that band. Eye candy for sure, with boundless energy, but the chick absolutely brings the goods as a musician as well. No compromise. She’s a fricking Amazon warrior.
@@edwardx.winston5744 yes I agree as much as I love Orianthi but Strauss for me is the better rocker fit for AC's band. Her energy adds more life to the bands performance.
4-5 years back I took my son to see him. Eric Singer was on drums with this lineup, minus Orianthi, the band AC puts together is a powerhouse. My kid was floored. And so was I
"Orianthi, greatest living guitarist!" "Hurricane Nita Strauss!" "And playing the part of Alice Cooper tonight... Me!" Great lines, love the Pink Floyd tribute.

As you can clearly see here orianthi is welcome to leave and come back whenever she wants to!! nita says she and orianthi are good friends who like hanging out together whenever they get the chance!!
Thanks for writing this! I’ve never understood why people want to put these two against each other. They are both truly amazing guitar players with different styles - both beyond dedicated and talented. Back in the day it wasn’t always easy being a female guitar player because it used to be more of a man’s world, but it warms my heart seeing these two playing their hearts out and supporting each other. What they are doing is hard work, but make it look easy. They don’t need the drama fans like to start. They aren’t and have never been competing with one another. They are supportive of each other, and friends. Love them both!
I graduated High School in 1972 in super small town NM, went to San Diego, California and my very first concert ever was.....Alice Cooper and school WAS out for summer/forever. I will never forget being there, Captain Beyond and Joe Joe Gun kicked the concert off.
Been a fan since 73, when I first heard the Love it to Death LP...but I never seen him n them in concert, I did buy the dvd in concern... I know thats weak...lol
I saw Alice Cooper for the first time in the early 70's at a small family attraction in Florida called Pirates World. I was 18 years old. He put on a great show. I'm now 71, and surprised Alice is still rockin', and sounding this good. Nita and Orianthe can certainly GRIND AN AXE.
I'm a lifelong rock musician who's 71 now too. I first saw Cooper and his band at The Crazy Horse (barn turned into a fabulous rock club) in my hometown, Kalamazoo, when they were on their first tour. A very unique show at the time, to be sure. I was not only 18 at the time, but I was also playing that song in my road band in Michigan. I saw him in concert again at the vintage State Theatre in Kalamazoo in the 1990s. Loved everything about the show except the snake. As an animal activist, I have to say: "Leave the snake out of the act, Alice. A high-decibel rock stage is nowhere for a snake to be."
Whoa. Thank u! It's awesome that u posted this. Ok...now...who wants to see a project with Nita & Orianthi??? I fully realize that Orianthi is more rock & Nita is more metal but... think about Alter Bridge. Myles is rock & Mark is metal & they're amazing together. I can only imagine how these 2 women could slay together.
I think Orianthi is too big a talent to just be in a band.. She needed to be out on her own. She isn't as well know as she should be. She needs a publicist and better management. Monster talent...
Seen my fellow Michigan man twice in the seventies at concerts one in Grand Rapids Cooper put on a hell of a concert then!! Orianthi is a guitar goddess!!
Alice and the entire band and crew put on an amazing show. Would love to see live. Would also love to see both Orianthi and the Hurricane Nita Strauss together on stage together vibing off each other doing their own stuff.
This is great. When I was a kid growing up in Phoenix my favorite band was the spiders and their lead singer was Alice Cooper. He always put on a great show and he still does
I seen Alice playing before a few bands, and though I like the bands he open for, I have to say he blows them away with his show. In one concert I got three Alices’s guitar picks. Imagine, three. There’s never a quiet, dull moment in an AC show.
Ori is a revolution in Coop history. His "little Babushka" quickly became - not only lead guitarist after maestro S. Hunter - but a true fandarling too. Yes, it's a shame, really. But it was her choice. Regretful? Probably yes. Back to Coop? Who knows... In any case, she's an exceptionally versatile and fine guitar player.
I am pretty certain Ori paved the way for Nita Strauss. Not that Nita isnt a good guitarist in her own right, but Coop had never had a female band member before in its proper sense before Ori. When the time came for replacement I can only assume he took any female applicant as serious as any male, and I dont think there is anything you can say about that other than that is a good thing.
I try to think what it must have been like to be part of the group that made this song. You're done with it, look at each other, and go "This is going to be a hit --- FOREVER!"
"We got no judgement, and we got no principles, we can't even think of a word that rhymes." That is precious. Alice is definitely one of a kind and I've been seeing him perform live ever since his early days in Detroit.
I think he should do it just once. Just think of the stage show he could bring when it doesn't have to be mobile and built up and torn down after each show...
