Great video Kirby and a beautiful pen. In terms of visiting H&H at St. James it’s a shame you couldn’t visit them at their proper address at Bruton street. Just up the road. Closed down by new owners Beretta and shoved on the third floor of the Beretta gallery. Bruton street had all the hallmarks of craftsmanship, quality and tradition for over a hundred years. Just like the Purdey shop in South Audley street you visited. But as an ex H&H gunmaker perhaps I’m just biased.
Amazing pen and such a lovely gift! I must say Purdey has something similar. I believe in collaboration with Montblanc. Personally, I prefer rollers for everyday. My favourite is Extra from Montegrappa. Stunning balance! And the size is just right for me.

Love burl pens. I had a pen made from sunflower seeds. I know it may sound dumb, but when they were all compressed together and then lathed into the body, the black and white designs coupled with the soft pearl of the seeds emerging and the flower petals themselves, it was a gorgeous pen. Sadly stolen by some no belt wearing hoodlum from my car after I had taken it to get the nib repaired. They caught the guy and he sold a $40 pen for $5 bucks to by rolling papers. Ingrates.
Beautiful pen. I’m not quite sure I completely agree with the design, using a silver top per say, but I still appreciate how intricate and stunning it is. Congratulations!

I joined the fountain pen club in 2023 after months of saving up and research, I purchased a pre-owned Mont Blanc to mark 30 years of work as a gift to myself. I dont think it had been used before
Always nice to see another fountain pen connoisseur . My daily driver is the Matte Black Forest Fountain Pen Extra Fine Nib Classic Design with Converter and Metal Gift Box Set by Hongdian, using Kaweco Fountain Pen Ink Cartridges short, Smokey Grey.
Definitely hit Venice. Absolute best experience in Italy over the two times I’ve been. Definitely consider the season as well because of the heat, when I went late summer last year the train tracks melted and we were stranded.

Does anyone know about the details of Onoto's ownership (I mean for this current, relaunched company)? Manufacturing location? Onoto themselves claim that everything is hand-made in England, so I guess that has to be true.
Kirby, does your ink happen to smell like cigars? I've recently bought the James Purdey and Sons cigar brown as well but there doesn't seem to be any sort of fragrance in it. Montblanc states that it may be out of date but the box was sealed when I got it.
Montblanc did a colander with purdy gun rifles as a side note I always now sign my name on documents using montblanc’s Irish green ink using my James dean fountain or my Enzo Ferrari fountain pen prior to this I would use my starwalker 100 year diamond edition and switch it up with with my montblanc 146 & 149 & my mini Mozart fountain pen since 2008 this prevents someone from forging my signature as I only sign any documents in this green ink so if any document was not signed in Irish green ink this was not my signature
Beautiful pen Kirby. I have the Montblanc Purdey Meisteratück. Mostly because I have a few Purdey guns and rifles. I love fountain pens… I own quite a few. Well, at least I love the idea of fountain pens. I do tend to find them annoying and usually return back to my trusty Montblanc rollerball after half a day of playing.
Big fan of fountain pens. One of the things I love about is, you can truly find some gems that are extermely reasonably priced. Probably comes from the roots of fountain pens being, just the defacto pen for so long. ( Similar to how today's mechanical timepieces, used to just be the 'everyman' watch before quartz. I tend to stick to those pens for now, but hope to add a few special ones in the future.
Speaking of your suit to shoot series.. have you worn the suit any time after? Have you been shooting since? Do you have the shotguns in America, or do you have them back in London in their care until you have need of them again?
I also collect Fountain Pens or rather I have had to start again, as rddled with arthiriitis now, so my originals are locked away. But I do appreciate a really good pen and this one just looks amazing. BUT how come unlike the rest of us after filling this pen up you didn't get any ink on your fingers?? I in using one for over 60 years have never failed to need blotting paper to wipe the nose of my pen (s) down. I was lucky enough to buy Charlie Chaplin's pen, absolutely beautiful, as he also had terrible arthiritis. Its a very heavy pen and small and thick barreled so very comfortable to write with. However I don't carry it around with me due to its value, so i managed to also buy some replicas and honestly you really would not know the difference, the construction and weighting and decor are the same. Even the replicas are not cheap. Anyway thanyou so much for this video, always good to hear your voice as I know that you will be presenting in you own inimitable style a wonderful product. Beautiful pen, but I wonder how practical it is. I recently brought out my ST Dupont gold pen and unfortunately my handwriting doesn't match the beauty of the pen. (and the spell checker isn't up to snuff either)

I have the Montblanc James Purday & Sons Fountain pen special edition. I have not used it yet since it was bought for investment but lets see… the craftmanship is amazing non the less..

I have a Waterman and Shaeffer pens but also pens by local craftsmen in acrylics and woods. They are more distinctive than the name brand pens.
