As a fan of the Captain Underpants books, the movie from Dreamworks was a huge love letter to the books that heavily influenced my art as a kid and I had the most fun time in the theater. If that movie released when I was 7, that would be my favorite movie ever, and it was still really enjoyable as an adult. The Dog Man books were released past my time because I was already in college, but this looks just as fun to watch. Keep in mind, the humor isn’t just kid humor, but it’s intentionally supposed to be juvenile as it is written by the in-universe kid characters of Captain Underpants, so if the jokes feel like they were written by kids, that’s because they technically are. So there are layers to the writing of this movie. regardless, this could be MY movie of the year
As someone who also read a ton of Captain Underpants as a kid, this just ain't it. At least the villains in Captain Underpants were doing things that made sense for an evil teacher to do, like having a super strict scientist/teacher want to remove all laughter because his students won't stop laughing in class. A cat who... wants to destroy all "do-gooders?" Even 11 year old me would roll my eyes at that.
It's a shame Adam probably won't see this or if he has seen it. It's honestly a really good point and it's one of the reasons why I actually like the movie trailer. I thought it was fun and I especially love the animation considering that they made the phenomenal wild robot movie last time. I definitely look forward to seeing dog man cuz they seem to be on a roll Right now If it turns out good but based on the trailer it seems like it's going to be😊
Honestly I like that Dreamworks are doing movies that aren't just "Existing IP: Another One". Adum shit all over the trailer for The Wild Robot but that turned out to be a pretty decent movie. People dunk on Dreamworks for being wannabe Pixar but Pixar fell the fuck off after Wall-E, while Dreamworks made the Dragon trilogy. Edit: yes I know they're based on books, you knew exactly what I meant.
@@UnableToWin I think UP is a pretty great film even after the opening, and has a very deep message about enjoying life that almost predates the moral of SOUL. Toy Story 3 even with the flaws is still a good bookend to that series (the 4th is the insult), and Coco was pretty decent too IMO. And what the hell, I love Monsters University, even with the college movie cliches I found it to be a deeper and more complex film than the original and they had guts with the "Maybe in life you just wont make your dream come true no matter how hard you work, but it doesn't make you worthless and you can compromise."
To be brutally honest, the "And if someone JUST HAPPENS to have an Eastern Grey Squirrel..." line got a laugh out of me for its absurdity and delivery.
It should've been The Wolf Woman with the premise that there is an anthro wolf trying to kill a bunch of people in a house, but one guy wants to fuck it and everyone else is giving him the look while trying to stay alive.
Just took my kid to see Dog Man the Musical. The central premise of the book and musical are that they are written by 5th graders (in universe). Cant wait to see Adam’s take on defenders of it going after critics saying “It’s supposed to be written by kids, it’s SUPPOSED to not make sense!”
@@willandwillstudios the movie from 1985. Not only is the main character a werewolf, so is his father. It's also implied his mother was a werewolf and was killed over it. It's almost played like a genetic disease, the father hoping it would jump a generation and not affect his son, but is supportive when he does end up turning. Kinda in the vein of Generational Trauma.
I think the design for the creature is pretty cool. But that just isn't a wolf man. Why would they do this for the... *checks notes*... WOLF MAN movie???
Man I remember seeing ads for DogMan The Musical when it went to a theater in LA and they kept promoting deals and sale with other show with the Center Theater Group
Has anyone noticed so many trailers show you something for the first second or two and then flash a trailer starting now screen? Like yeah I know it’s starting now I’m in watching it.
If that wolf man costume Is real than i reall suggest studios send their designers into retirement and hire cosplayers because my god what even is that Is saw better stuff at some Roadside show
Oi, looks like Adam was drinking a Margarita. Adam, if you see this, take my recipe (Olivia enjoy too if you like Ritas) Im from San Antonio living in central Texas. This is the real deal. El Jimador Reposado (x2) Grand Marnier (x1) Lime juice freshly squeezed (x2) Sweeten w/simple syrup (hot water in sugar 2:1, store air tight at room temp for up to 1 week) Serve over a LOT of ice with Tajin rim Optional: add squirt of freshly squeezed orange juice for fruitier drink To make MAMA’S SPICY RITA, add mango nectar in place of sweetener, and 1 Habanero per pitcher for heat
The Dog Man movie looks promising, a fun _Robocop_ for toddlers. As for the Wolfman, we can't really trust a behind scenes photo, I remember the outcry when a photo of the Ozaru from _Dragon Ball Evolution_ was leaked and it looked like a lizard instead of a monkey, but it turned out that mask was unfinished or was supposed to have CGI fur or something, the point is that it looked better in the movie (the movie was garbage still, but that was because of the script, the visual effect where generic but fine). My point is, let them cook and only when the dish is served we will see if its good or not

in loving memory of scoot i hope this movie flops
In loving memory I hope they follow it up with genitically modified catgirl and Catwoman.
scoot might approve of this movie. it may be an entry point into tf for kids
Scoot would’ve easily given The Wolf Man (2025) a 100/10 rating just for the TF scenes alone.
dog tf is almost as bad as no tf at all
The alleged Wolfman design looks like a homeless goblin more than a wolf or man
I would buy that design as Igor than a Wolfman.
The 2010 Wolfman movie sucked, but at least they had the decency to make Benicio look like a mfing wolf-man.
The ABSOLUTE FEAR in Adam's eyes when he saw the new wolfman design.
MAKE 👏WEREWOLVES 👏FURRY 👏 AGAIN 👏
Everyone seems to be in agreement that the Van Helsing black werewolf looked AMAZING and nobody's done anything like it since.

idk if you know this but dogman is an existing ip, its made by the captain underpants guy
@@scumm1075 i think op was referring to the fact that they tend to jus to make sequels instead of trying to do something new.

The "youuuuu..." right after that line got me
How comes dog-man look more like a wolf man than the actual wolf-man
I'm getting sick of werewolves, not looking like massive wolf-like beasts with a thick coat of fur
I've seen the Dog Man books around, but I had no idea that he was actually the combination of a dog and a man.
It should've been The Wolf Woman with the premise that there is an anthro wolf trying to kill a bunch of people in a house, but one guy wants to fuck it and everyone else is giving him the look while trying to stay alive.
Waiting for a horror movie where one person sees the monster and goes "...hear me out" 😂😂😂
Dog Man and Wolf Man are two words each. Dogman is the movie he likes.
two movies are called Dogman. one is by pedo Luc Besson, the one he likes is by Matteo Garrone

If its charming and creative maybe Adum will enjoy it in a A Town called Panic or Madagascar 3 way.
This Cool Cat spin off looks wild
you’re the wolf man now dog
the "aren't dogs colorblind?" joke absolutely was funny.
I’m pretty sure The Wolfman is gonna have the twist of there being two of them (dad and granddad) and it’s an allegory for Generational Trauma
Just like the Del Toro version
Just like Teen Wolf

I think that Wolfman design is going to be the design of the werewolf that will infect the protagonist
Finally a role I can agree with Pete Davidson can play perfectly: nowhere near a camera.
Big Dog propaganda at it again.
Omg, a new trailer for wolf man just dropped and that is exactly what he looks like 😂

Jump scare: "What a cliched way of getting a 'scare.'"
Quiet jump scare: "I'm not scared!"
Honestly the dogman trailer looks very wholesome, like it has the story a child would make with their toys (but in a good way)
Horror Trailer - "Okay let's check it out"
Blumhouse - "And we're done here"
3:08 YMS out here like "HIS ARMS ARE NOT ORANGE"
The new Dog Man precedes Matteo Garrone's Dogman as an IP, so by your logic he should have named the movie something else.
2:26 - 2:36
Adum: “That was not a funny joke”
Me: they made the same joke in the Books tho.
Why did you write a screenplay for a comment that should have only been the last sentence?
Man I remember seeing ads for DogMan The Musical when it went to a theater in LA and they kept promoting deals and sale with other show with the Center Theater Group
3:04 that was the color of the guy's hands, not dog fur?
I love how the wolfman trailer begins with b-roll from an Antscanada video
Holy shit 😂😂😂
Dogman looks like a really gory movie, I mean a police officer’s head gets cut off!!
What is this trend of making werewolves not look like they're part-WOLF
Did anyone else see The Wolfman 2010 with Benicio, I saw that shit in theaters what a time
Okay, that dog one was very relatable to the things my dogs do that annoys me. 😂
Adum should watch Luc Besson's Dogman, it's pretty bad but it's also pretty fascinating.
haha I saw that movie it’s terrible
Whew, for a moment there I thought Adam said he "really really likes" Luc Besson
The cat looks like Blockhead from those animations from 18 years ago.
i like that my box says the title is "dogmanwolfman"
The Wolf Man trailer was awful
Inside of you there are two me-
The children yearn for galvanism
Dogman seems like a movie that exsists within a movie, like Dogcopter from Steven Universe or something
It's literally a "baby movie" as Adum might say.
Has anyone noticed so many trailers show you something for the first second or two and then flash a trailer starting now screen? Like yeah I know it’s starting now I’m in watching it.
