Altacast is NOT supported in RadioDJv2 you will need to find another way to stream with a stand alone encoder.
I wished that the title of this video would have said that before I watched it all and installed it trying to figure out the issue :(

I recently came across Radio DJ. I would like to use it to broadcast live, but I have a problem with activating the live server option. After adding files and folders as shown in the video, I am not able to activate this option. Can you give me a hint?
Hi I'm trying to make it so that we only have to use one software in school. I want to go into radiodj with microphones so I can use the encoder for the mics and music, the problem is we don't want to listen to the mics coming back through but want to be able to listen to the music seperatly through an aux channel on our desk through several soundcards. Is there a way to send the mic somewhere else so we don't have to hear ourselves but the audience can?

What I did was check the SSL box, then "Build Database."
RadioDJ won’t start. I know it’s not because of my antivirus because I turned it off and it still won’t load. If anyone can help that will be great because their forums haven’t sent me the verification email.
i just keep getting arrors left and right i set up MySQl the same you did and when i click ok on radio dj it just gives me different error messages and brings me back to the login screen

mysql installation gave me a pain in the ass.. it stucked on "starting server" and it can't push through.. already used the sql version similar to your video.

I keep getting an error message saying "Flac is Ice Cast Only!" when trying to go live.

Altacast is a third-party plugin not developed by RadioDJ and may not be supported in future versions - More info can be found here: djgarybaldy.co.uk/radiodj-altacast-are-separate-programs/
If you can't get RadioDJ to work then we recommend trying some of the following software like Mixxx and Virtual DJ: help.radio.co/live-broadcasting
I get an error, and I am not a coder or programmer, so I do not know how to troubleshoot. It says: "Database Check Error: authentication to host '127.0.0.1' for user 'root' using method 'cashing_sha2_password' failed with message: Unknown database 'radioDJ2'

hi, check the name of the db, you can do it by opening in windows Mysql command line, write the password and then write SHOW DATABASES; then try entering the name of the database. (can be "mysql" or another similar name).

It depends on what you want to do. RadioDJ (Windows only) is a rather easy to use program designed to be simple enough to pick and use, whereas MIXXX (Windows, Mac, or Linux) offers some more technical features like the ability to mix up to 4 DJ decks.
As both are free, I recommend giving each a go to see what works best for you:

We used a studio condenser microphone inserted through a Scarlett 2i2 as shown here: radio.co/radio-university/home-studio-advanced
already done with this using version 1.8.2 but when you go online using the altacast plugin, radiodj program hangs a bit when the song is playing and broadcasting over the internet.. is this the reason why altacast has been ditched out on radiodj v2 onwards?
It isn't clear why AlaCast was abandoned, but if you're struggling to setup RadioDJ, then why not try a simpler broadcasting app like ours: help.radio.co/en/articles/1407408-radio-co-broadcaster-for-windows-beta

When you go to click bassenc.dll A popup says

These files are used by the operating system and by various programs. Editing or modifying them could damage your system.

Don't open the file, but copy the file from AltaCast folder and paste it into the RadioDJ root folder, this should replace the existing file under the same name.

This video is from 2016 so I know many updates have taken place. Altcast is not mentioned on the RadioDj website at all so what is the alternative? I signed up for your forum, but it's been hours and no sign up email has been sent.

If i wanna say just do a lil show on twitch. Would I still need all those encoder files? Or could I just do set up and start streaming??
As the encoder compresses audio to allow it to stream, you would still need an encoder to use Radio DJ.

can you please help me when i right click during the final steps to have radioDJ take over the broadcast stream. The Green Enabled light turns Green. But the Connected light Stays Red. Any Suggestions. Thanks
"Enabled" means RadioDJ is attempting to establish a connection, whereas "Connected" confirms that connection. In your case RadioDJ was unsuccessful, so I recommend double checking your encoder details are correct and you have a live event scheduled awaiting connection.

can you explain to me why every time i open up radioDj it automatically starts to stream even tho there is no content in the window when it opens. it auto stops my radio.co auto dj how can i make it so radiodj has to wait until i say connect ?

It depends on your preference. SAM Broadcaster is easier to setup, but comes with a price tag. Whereas RadioDJ is a bit tricky to get going, but is free to use. Try them for yourself to see which you prefer.

Worst experiences with this technical crap. As many problems as I see people having with downloading this on the internet and everywhere else, can you just imaging once you get it working and something goes wrong you are SOL and your station will be on dead air. Radio DJ just needs to make it obvious and provide links for these things on their site unless everyone using it is tech savy or some IT engineer this shit just goes right over everyone's head and you need to ask yourself if this bitch breaks, what are you going to do?!

Cant extract files when ive opened up the RadioDJ download???
RadioDJ files are zipped, you need to be extracted to install the program. Windows 10 has an option to extract files, however you can use a program like: www.7-zip.org/
