This kit is OK, but a really missed opportunity. They should have left out the Marines and put in a sprue of plastic melee/ranged weapons. Command squads can take SO MUCH varied kit
So the basic upgrade then
Ugh. Just that for a 50? No thanks. 1 Banner, some dudes and power swords? Who tf takes swords? They could have made it a 10 man squad or toss in some more melee options, but that would make too much sense. Is it a nice kit? Sculpts are nice. Is it 50$ nice? Hell no.

The kit is alright, definitely get it WITH marines, not just the upgrade.
However, the kit lacks Melee weapons, ranged options like pistols, (really, only 1 bolt pistol?) and most importantly the shoulderpads. There should've been at least 5 of them,(1 for each marine) if not 10 for the whole squad of 5.
Other than that, the kit is on par with the other upgrades. I think it will look awesome on some new MK-II or MK-IV too
I wonder how feasible it is to convert the combat shields into boarding shields to make some Breachers?
Would extending them with some extra armour at the top and bottom be enough?
Great addition imo. Love the HH.
A quite underwhelming and lazy kit from Games Workshop in my opinion.
A wide variety of melee weapons would be nice, but having banners in plastoc is so nice!
They should be in artificer armour though, right? This is just power armour.
Technically no, the command squad can take either artifice armor or regular armor
@@Goblinhandler The Legion Command Squad entry on page 26 of the Liber Hereticus states only artificer armour. Is the entry different in the other book? I don't have it.
@@Kiskispal Horus heresy rules are a mess, but it really doesn’t matter
Artificer armor is just any power armor that deviates from the regular pattern
These guys have special helmets and shoulders
@@Goblinhandler Thanks. I was just expecting comprehensive new sculpts along the lines of the Praetors' armour in the launch box.
@@Kiskispal that would be a bit too expensive, a single praetor costs like 35 dollars
Way too overpriced for 5 marines and an extra sprue. Looks awesome, though.
Going to need comparison with Company Heros but judging from warcomm preview, without any legion specific upgrade this will look plain
I won't. Different game and totally different marines. It is a multipurpose set to cater for 18 different legions with customising options, which the Company Heroes set does not.

I would have preferred the command squad having at least few unique sculpts instead of being just upgrade sprue. But i guess if GW plans to plastic MKV power armor in the future or upgrade the MKIV armor it makes sense just to have a upgrade sprue you can use on all of them instead of every armor mark having it's own command squad sculpts
