I don't understand why Sara has not put out her own music. She has a amazing voice!!
My wife told me about this woman she heard singing a Carpenter's song on facebook earlier tonight. I have spent the last hour listening to her cover songs. Sara can sing big time!

This beautiful rendition of that song, is magnificent. What most people do not know is that, what made Karen Carpenter so unique, was her ability to sing to such a great and perfect measure, while playing the drums. Really truly Amazing voice and control. Excellent rendition of such great song, Sara Loera!

I wish the rest of the Internet was more like this. I am not sure if anyone else has read all the comments. I have and NOT ONE negative comment. How rare is that? We are all in agreement. Believe me I read a lot of comments on a lot of videos and it is very rare to find ALL positive comments. Tim Berners Lee would say it was the intention behind the Internet but underestimated people's propensity to row but none of that here. Sara should be very proud as that is an achievement in itself. Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy I completely agree. Pity parties, I like it and may well use it in future. Definitely. You know the saying sounds nothing like the record live. I believe this would be a mirror image with no production polish required. That is a good ethos. I am tone so come here to appreciate those with talent in this area. I have played every instrument live at one point or other but vocals only once and that was enough for the audience too. I made John Lydon look like he had range :) . Thank you for the positive comments, most kind. Many here with an impressive knowledge that I appreciate as helps me to understand more.

It changes in my mind, to where it changes to SARA's song!!!!! It still is Karen's song it's hers!!!! But a new release of the song to honor the work (That the Carpenters) did will always be! But now a new release will become SARA LOERA's News song!!!! I would love to it out for play at RADIO STATIONS all over!!!!!!!! Casper.

Karen Carpenter was one of my faves, and really underrated as a vocalist. Unique tone and phrasing. Sara does a great job on this, her voice is so versatile. A little sibilance on the recording in spots, but that's tough to avoid without a filter at that range. Great job overall.

I don’t think Karen Carpenter was underrated as a vocalist. John Lennon and Frank Sinatra both thought she was the greatest female singer. She was underrated as a drummer, though.
As amazed as I am by some of the vocal pyrotechnics displayed on this channel, it's nice to hear a relatively quiet ballad once in a while. Lovely tune, beautifully done by a most watchable singer.

Sara is amazing, WOW! She kept the original vibe of the song, she did it just like Karen Carpenter did it. Sara's voice is the best for Carpenters songs, nobody, and I mean absolutely nobody besides Sara Loera, can do it this good. I give her a solid 10/10

This girl has a terrific voice, but part of what made Karen so special was her phrasing and pronunciations ... every word ... every syllable ... very hard to duplicate.

Yes to every descriptive word plus Karen would lift up to higher notes with the same velvety quality then go back down with smooth solid gracefulness. Anne Murray is somewhat the same to me.

lovely version,, everyone's voice is so unique.....Karen used resonance not push and her voice seemed "big"on belt notes but she wasn't even pushing .,,, it was total resonance....which I feel is a genetic gift,, not from vocal lessons....she didn't even warm up...everyone's voice is so unique...one thing I heard is that she knew how to work the mic and make it very intimate....while she whispered her vocal right into the mic and they came out so sweet , deep, rich and sometimes powerful through that whisper...Richard really understood how to produce it.

Thanks, Karen defined radio at the time the Carpenters were ruling the airwaves. Her voice brings up memories of that whole time period.
Mythlos Mine too as that is how I know who she is as died decades ago I believe. There is a London vocalist with a very similar tone to Karen Carpenter too but name escapes me as I do not follow much contemporary music. Edited to say it is Rumer. For me she has one of the best female vocals and yes that includes Adele.
She did wonderful. She sounds a lot like her. She put her own talent to this song and came out great. Beautiful and a hell of a singer. Hope to hear more from her. I have met Karen and she was a wonderful woman and I feel that she would have LOVED hearing this version of this song.

When I was a child my parents and I watched Karen and Richard Carpenter perform on television in the 1970's. Karen had a beautiful voice and a great performer. Karen passed in 02/04/1983 due to illness from anorexia.

When I was much younger, the Carpenters was one of my favorite groups. There was something about Karen Carpenter's singing that could make a day seem okay. I was able to see them in person and it added to the enjoyment when I later heard her songs played. Karen's voice was unique and their music special.
You have captured the spirit of this song while making it your own interpretation and not trying to copy Karen. For that reason, this is the best I have heard since the original. You've taken me back to the emotions and enjoyment of that time years ago. Thank you.

this is a special treat hearing this particular beautifully sung song. It is Monday and it finally rained this afternoon which is greatly wanted as we have been in the 100 degree range this last week. Now I am in a happy place.

This was the first song I ever heard and saw Sara perform. She caught my attention with those doe-eyes and that rich honey voice and I've been hooked on her ever since. This was such a flawless performance and she emulated Karen in the most sincere, authentic, and respectful way and captured the pure emotion of this song.

WOW how in the world did you change your voice?! From Stevie Nicks to Karen Carpenter? Like a vocal magician. This is SO COOL! I've made it a new hobby to consistently watch Sara and Gabriela's music videos and recordings for female vocal inspiration. I'm learning stuff about singing that I never knew existed like how to sing different genres of music and change your voice accordingly. I thought people could only sing 1 or 2 genres of music. This is unheard of- for me. Ken, seriously, this opens up a whole other world for my mind that you teach your students such cool tricks.
Sara has made singing a priority in her life, and has learned well. She has learned to control many aspects of her voice, and has the ability to sing many styles.

Brina Marie: if you play a musical instrument ones thing you can do to improve on your note and tone quality is match your voice to the notes you're playing. For instance...I play guitar. I'll play and sing one song in one octave level and then change songs and play a different octave and match my voice to that average octave. When you do this listen very closely with your ears and your heart to the tune. Open your mind to the octave and try to hit the highest or lowest notes in that song but really pay attention to WHERE your voice is in that general range. For most it takes a lot of practice to hit certain notes and then do another song immediately afterwards do a different one in a different note and octave. Mariah Carey, Ronnie Milsap, Celine Dion, and others have a natural ability that allows them to hit them from one note in a song directly to another one in the same song. Not everyone has that ability. Some can learn it with practice but not all. So if you try as hard as you can and you just can't get that one note you want don't get discouraged cuz it truly is a gift that certain people have. Before my accident I could hit every high note that Martina McBride could hit (and I'm a guy too by the way) and the lowest notes that I've heard Elvis hit. Yes it took a lot of practice but I knew I had that gift, that ability because I've always just sung everything since I was a kid and done exactly what I suggested you do. After the crash I can't hold a note nor can I breathe deeply enough to hold a certain tune as long as the pros. But those things happen sometimes in life. Practice listening to WHERE your voice is...how high you can go without straining it and then how low. Learn what those particular notes are and write them down so you have a reference to work from. Then try to increase in height and on the lowest notes as you go. But always pay attention to HOW you sing when you're ready to do a song seriously and sing from the heart. That'll get you started. Hope that helps you some.😊

I can listen to anything, and I simply love this! I love how your students evolve and discover themselves, how they gain in confidence and passion. I love every bit of your work and admire your devotion to it. As soon as I can get the money i'm definitely signing up!
Now as a suggestion for a cover: The Sound of Silence as a male and female duet performance would be great. I personally would go for a mix between the original and the Newer cover by Disturbed (Male singing the disturbed version and female vocalist the original but a pitch higher) of course the tempo has to be adjusted but this would seriously be epic.

I would love to hear her sing Ofra Haza's Im Nin'alu, Kate Bush's Running Up That Hill, Quincy Jones' "Ms. Celie's Blues" (Sister) from The Color Purple, Anna Belén's Como la vida misma or Derroche, Amanda Marshall's Believe In You or Beautiful Goodbye.
