- Happy Tuesday my friends! Bet you thought you wouldn’t hear from me 😁 Well here I am and I’ve got a doozy for ya this week!
Karen Carpenter is one of the greatest singers of all time. Her effortless but powerful singing style combined with her musical use of dynamics really set her apart from any other singer. Her sound is so intimate, and at times can be haunting. The emotion in her singing flows strong, and we’d be hard pressed to find a more beloved singer. No one can touch Karen, but I tried to add some of her techniques and sound into my version of this song. Please let me know how you think I did in the comments :)

Karen's low register isn't easy to duplicate. Pitch, dynamic control, phrasing.......You're a really, really strong talent. Impressed.

I grew up in the 60's and 70's and I can say that you give the best rendition of a Karen Carpenter song I have ever heard since Karen herself. If I close my eyes I can see Karen singing this. Please do more Carpenter covers. You bring tears to my eyes

Call me crazy but I think Sara's is better. I've actually done blind tests on people, first playing Sara's version and then Karen's and everyone has picked Sara's. Admittedly it was only 4 people but still.

Karen Carpenter is probably my top one or two vocalist . That said. I can close my eyes..not look at you singing this song.... and I hear Karen all over again! You have such a rich lower register with vibrato that escalates to a higher register with such a clear and angelic voice. I do love all of your covers and vocals but admittedly this is one of my faves!! Thanks Sara..❤

This is absolutely UNBELIEVABLE! I get goosebumps up and down my spine and arms every time Karen's voice goes from high register to low as the chorus ends and she says 'I love you, I really do' and you are the ONLY other singer of the song who does the EXACT same thing to me as you sing it. Your vocals penetrate the SOUL. Your pitch is astonishing and you have a gift of vocal perfection and deserve to actually BE a SUPERSTAR!

Now this is a song that most singers wouldn't even attempt, for fear of not being able to do it justice, with good reason because Karen had one of the most distinctive voices ever. Absolutely Amazing! After Karen Carpenter passed, I never thought I would ever hear a voice that would so closely match hers again. That is until I heard your voice! Your cover tunes sound so much like the original artists that it is hard to tell it's not them without watching the video. The cool thing is that it is not them. Your sound is totally amazing. I would love to hear you sing one of your own original songs (if you have any) or a song that someone has written for you. Your beautiful voice deserves it's own songs!
Sara is an amazing singer, with an incredibly beautiful voice which has not been discovered as of yet, simply divine. Made me get chills listening to the emotions in this song.
This is my era of becoming a real listener to various genres of music. The Carpenters were special. Sara adds to this song in her own way yet this cover still reminds me of Karen. I wish I was a big producer in the industry. I would get behind Sara and make sure she is heard around the world. She is in a very special category of talent. Presence, a voice that touches emotion, and is just a very beautiful young woman. Somehow, this talent will hit the world stage!

Karen Carpenter was not really a favorite so I was like Naaa. Then out of morbid curiosity I mashed the play button. Should have known better. I found myself smiling and said Sara did it again.
