    If you are going to build crates as part of your home decor, it is vital to crate train your dog. It’s super important that our dogs are happy and relaxed in a crate.
    If you ever need to leave your dog at the Vet, it’s going to make your dog’s experience much better if he feels safe in a crate and can relax. You will need your dog in a crate for travelling. If there is ever an emergency and your dog needs to be crated, it’s far better for everyone if he is comfortable, most especially it’s better for your dog.
    Crate Games is going to help you condition your dog to a crate for comfort and confidence: get.crategames.com/yt/online

    OMG! SOOO perfect! Yes, regular crate door is a hazard! 😂😂😂 I am remodeling so these may end up in the dining room side, but the long way for 2 large crates. Amaaaaazingly good idea!

    Love it. I just ordered a custom crate build as an end table for my living room so that I can get rid of the ugly plastic one. My dogs love their crates

    Beautiful and very well thought out design! Love using crates from pup to senior. We use to call our late PWD girl’s crate her “condo”…which she would often go off and have an afternoon nap in (snoring included)😆. Thanks for sharing this wonderful idea. 👍🏻🐾❤️

      Yay, Sue! We would love to see how they turn out. There's an article in Susan's blog that includes a PDF with plans: susangarrettdogagility.com/2020/02/built-in-dog-crates/

      @@unleashedn8430 it is very likely the doors just have pins (dowels or something similar) on the top that are seated in a groove in the side panels. They would stop the door from being able to pull all the way out and enable the drop down function. If you have further questions I could make a drawing to help explain further. Good luck!

      I was able to read the article but I was hoping to have some more detailed specifications on what you used I can't find anything online. Are you able to remove the dog doors if you have to? If so could you make a video explaining the mechanism he uses

      @@The305guy hey did you ever figure this out? I’d love to start this project, but am intimidated by the door mechanic and the lack of info on how to build them 😅 I’m not sure I trust myself to figure it out!

    • @The305guy
      @The305guy ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Becksbsmol54 no unfortunately i think i had found something close a while back but not exactly. It's like you cut a Grove into the wood with a router and there is a special hinge that sits in that groove.

    European laws don't allow us to put dogs in crates! It is considered to be an extremely barbaric behavior😶😶😶

      This is a perfect fix, condo beds for the dog with door being incognito. My actual crates were under a bar style counter and never fails, I would walk into the open door and bruise my leg. This is waaay better.Crates are not cruel if you can prevent an untrained unsupervised dog from eating non-edibles and prevent a vet visit. A must if you work but adopt a rescue. That said, they traain quickly and crate becomes sleeping quarters.
