- [EDIT] for all the ppl asking in the comments, the [[NOT FOR KIDS]] in the title is because of youtube's new policy regarding kid's content, which was vague and included "anything kids might like/enjoy" and i didnt wanna risk a COPPA violation cause this animatic includes a disney song
hey! hi! longtime no see! so while i have several animatics in my wip folder, this is the only one i felt motivated to finish and have been working on and off on it for little more than a week now. im not entirely happy with it, there are some parts in both the drawing and editing i wish were better, but overall im happy with the final product(more than anything im just glad to finally be done with it).
[story:
set in medieval/magical world or something and Thomas is king. Roman was born a simple peasant, but always dreamed of being a dashing prince, but since he doesnt have an ounce of royal blood in him the closest thing he can get to a prince is to become a knight. so he does and, eventually, becomes thomas' most trusted knight and close friend. one day while out wandering the woods roman stumbles upon a suspicious looking man with yellow eyes and scales who compliments roman, singing his praises and promising him all of his wildest hopes and dreams, "you can be royal too, rule your very own kingdom" "...ill be a prince?" "your majesty, you will be /king/"
so the stranger gives roman roses, more than a dozen of beautiful red ones, and tell him to pass them out to everyone he meets. "the people will love you" the man says "a king needs loyal people" so roman does, and the people really do love him. but a couple of weeks later the snake man approaches roman with a crown of red roses and sharp thorns "every king needs a crown" but the moment he places it on his head the thorns dig into his skin. the roses drain of their vibrant red hue until they're pitch black. anyone who'd accidentally been pricked by the roses he gave them fall into a zombie like daze. the perfect obedient people. "i promised you a kingdom, i never said id give you a entirely new one"
so roman becomes twisted, kingnaps thomas and takes full control of the castle. anyone not affected by the roses flees, including royal adviser logan and two castle staff incredibly close to the crown, patton and virgil. the remaining forces of thomas' kingdom gather on the outskirts of the palace and virgil, a close 'friend' of romans' since childhood who's desperate to get him back, leads the charge to take back the castle.]

To be honest though? Roman's ideals are the most easy to corrupt considering that they're usually fantastical and not exactly grounded in reality. He's more likely to end up doing terrible things for the sake of his ideals because he thinks that he's achieving the happily ever after that he wants

@@grayson9424 while it's a valid point(especially considering the yellow eyes at the end) I personally think that even pride wouldn't stoop to this level, because what he's done isn't something that he can be proud of, or even arrogant about. The description does state that Roman got corrupted though, so maybe a corrupted Pride takes pride in what Roman's done?

The fact that Roman eyes change to Deceit eyes is such an incredibly subtle detail over what happens in the story. And Virgil using Roman old stash as a scarf to try and get his friend back, even if getting him back means fighting him.

I honestly believe Roman has the highest chance of turning dark. He is the creativity and motivation, he doesn't, by himself, have morality, logic, or fear. If he's allowed or someone slacks he could do some serious harm. He's the easiest to manipulate and lie to. Creativity is a loose cannon. He, like anxiety, can cross the dark side of the mind relatively easy do to his lack of inherited control.
That being said I love this, I'm so glad this exsists and is so good.

Creativity is a never ending determination. Since Roman is hopes and dreams and creativity he could simply imagine this perfect kingdom for himself and without anxiety will be fueled by the simple thought of the goal.

Tic Tac I think Patton would turn dark last for the pure fact he is emotions he'd confine all the emotions of anger and hate and team up with deciet at the very end almost like turning into madness
I think any order of them turning dark would be disastrous, but I agree that Roman and Patton could be manipulated into Dark Sides. I can see Roman being manipulated first and either he manipulates Patton or Patton is manipulated by Deceit. But he can turn last after everyone else because he can't/won't hurt his family and he knows he can't save them.
Logan would probably turn without realizing he has because he's pure logic. He would cause harm by basing every decision on logic instead of a blend of emotion and logic since Patton wouldn't be there to stop him or he'd be too far in and whatever Patton says wouldn't register.
Virgil would probably do the same thing and take over in desperation to keep everything together and end up as a Dark Side in turn. He could stay light but cause more harm. He could also be working with Deceit (I don't think he would but I do think he was a DS) and he could manipulate all of them.
I mean any order is bad in general but I do like to see what others think.
Personally I love this sander aides anamatic because A) Virgil isn't the villain B) You can tell which character is which without making each look completely different which is amazing. C) The story isn't cringy it actually makes sense D) it has an amazing art style and I just love it! (( also Z) *DECIET!* ))

Okay, for anyone who actually reads this, you are wonderful.
"I'll make them hear me" Roman has insecurities and they have all started to weigh down on him and his well being. the other Sanders sides and Thomas always expect him to be a sassy, happy, hopeful type of person and dismiss him when anything is truly wrong and he attempts to speak his mind.
"Prove they can trust me" Virgil is still insecure about being seen as "the bad guy" still, despite everyone coming to terms that he truly, at his core is something healthy and good. He constantly feels the need to prove himself as someone to be trusted and he also still believes he doesn't deserve support and love.
"I'll save my home and family" Patton is a cheery and bubbly person most of the time. Something has gotten between that, namely Deceit. He needs his family and will do anything to protect them. Because they are fractured at the moment he blames himself as he is supposed to be the one that keeps everyone together.
"Are you quite sure we can do this?" Logan has never had a doubt in his mind until now. He is so unsure of himself and if he can truly diffuse and or make a difference in this situation. He is afraid because he is doubtful that his friend will be okay. He may not always know how to show it, but he deeply cares about everyone.
This was beautifully portrayed and these are just my opinion. I love this animatic and Thomas really needs to see this. He would love it!

"This is the story of how I died. Oh don't worry, I didn't physically die, and the truth is the story isn't completely mine. This is a story of a boy named Thomas, and it starts with a crown. Now, once upon a time, there was a kingdom ruled by a beloved king. While the king was young, he was incredibly kind, and always tried to do right by his subjects. I'll give you a hint: that king was Thomas.
One day, as the king was traveling through the land he saw a young peasant boy about his age. The boy was wielding a metal poker and was repeatedly striking a dead tree. Over and over again, the boy would thrust forward, dance backward, and parry invisible foes before thrusting forward again. The king's thoughts soon left the peasant boy, until hours later, near dusk, the king happened to pass by again as he headed home. As he approached the dead tree, he heard the solid thunk of metal hitting wood, and to his surprise he saw the peasant boy remained.
Calling from the road, the king shouted "Excuse me, sorry to bother you but can I talk to you for a moment?" Startled to suddenly find himself being summoned by the king of the land, the boy came near and deeply bowed. "My King, to what do I have the honor?"
"Earlier this morning I passed by you training. Now it's almost dark, and you're still here. Have you been training this whole time?" The boy, still bowing, simply replied "Yes, my King. I come here every day that I can". The king was impressed by the boy's words, and after a moment he placed his hand on the boy's shoulder and replied. "Your determination is impressive, though I expect teaching yourself isn't easy. You could train at the royal training grounds, under one of my knights if you wanted."
The peasant boy looked up in shock, and when he saw the honesty in the king's eyes he sprang forward, engulfing him in a tight hug. After a moment the boy came to his senses, and immediately released the king, babbling apologies while the king simply laughed. As time went on that peasant boy became both the king's dear friend and most trusted knight. He became familiar with the king's stuffy but brilliant adviser and his absentminded but kindhearted chamberlain. One evening after dinner, the knight approached the king, saying that he had overheard that the castle staff needed a new stable boy, and asked a favor of the king. This led to the hiring of the grouchiest, most sullen boy the king had ever laid eyes on. The new stable boy scowled and grumbled about how the knight knew he hated horses, but despite the constant brooding and worrying he fit into the king's small group of friends perfectly.
The king reigned, and though he was often unsure or overwhelmed by his responsibilities, he was confident that with his adviser and chamberlain on his left, and his knight and stable boy on his right he would be okay. And for that one moment, everything was perfect.
And then that moment ended."

The thought of the King dying was always in the back of his mind, whenever he ate, whenever he went to battle, there was a line in the sand that was getting closer to him by the minute that'll remove his life from the Earth. He was prepared for that. But he didn't fear it. At least, before this moment. He stood, staring at his former knight and friend with betrayal evident on his face. He never thought that any of them would betray him or each other. They've each known each other for years, and would most likely risk death for each other.
At least, that's what he thought until that truth he held onto was quickly unraveled when he awoke from the blow to the head to a smiling Roman. It wasn't the usual smirk or honest smile that the King was so used to seeing. It was a malicious smile that bore no warmth or familiarity with the Roman he knew.
"Why?" The King asked his former knight and friend. The word was met with a laugh and the King just noticed the crown of black roses adorning Roman's head. The whole image was just, _wrong_ in his mind. For a split second, the King swore he saw Roman's eyes flash yellow.
"Why? Out of everything you could've asked, you asked _that._ Thomas, I'm disappointed. I thought you were better than that."
"Where’s your scarf?"
For a moment, a look of confusion had him, and he reached up to touch where it normally rested. Then, a curtain slammed down on his features and action, and the moment was over.
Okay Roman is the villain and Virgil Logan and Patton are the hero’s it’s a nice change for once.
The tables have turned everyone.

OK, I had to delete everything I wrote and retype it because it was honestly hysterical and I was shaking a I typed it. It’s 5 AM and I just watch this and that was a bad idea because I’m freaking out about how good it was. OK here goes. First of all the art was amazing beautiful spectacular iconic Adjectives. All their designs were so great, I loved dark!romans, but I especially love Virgil Logan and Pattons outfit designs. Virgil giving the inspirational speech and putting on Romans sash gave me so many feelings holy sht- and the Patton and Logan interaction was just so good, oh my goshhhh my little shipper heart.
And the flashback shot of all of them gave me CHILLS.
And that LAST SHOT. THAT👏🏽LAST👏🏽SHOT👏🏽. I DONT KNOW HOW I DIDNT SEE THAT COMING, WHAT. THAT WAS GENIUS.

I love this so much! I like how it isn't the usual "Virgil is bad guy cuz he Anxiety" storyline. I think Roman's insecurities would lead him down a dark path if they got bad and he didn't acknowledge them correctly. The art is so good too! Also, Logicality and Prinxiety in the same video?! AHHH! Sorry, anyway Logan is doubtful, like in some videos, Patton is hopeful, like always (Except sometimes don't be sad dad), and Virgil is actively trying to solve the problem. I feel as though it might not seem like it but Virgil is always the one who is actively trying to make everything right by kicking Thomas back into gear. Also making Virgil the main hero? Excellent! All around awesome... sorry for blabbing I just love this SO much.

Originally, I thought that anxiety was the one with the black crown and that Roman was being held captive but managed to work his way through Virgil's trust enough to be in the same room as Virgil. I thought Thomas was leading the fight with Logan and Patton behind him.
Then my younger sister says no. Deceit is the one with the Black Crown due to the eye reveal at the end and that Anxiety was leading the fight with Logan and Patton behind him. She thought this was a mental battle, taking place entirely within Thomas's mind.
Then we read the description and found out that we were both idiots. But happy idiots because we got a story greater than what our assumptions could create who are hopeful for continuation on the story. 😊

Your choice of which characters sings which line works wonderfully. They all seem really in character given the context . The ones that made me shiver in particular is Virgil's "Prove they can trust me" And Patton's "I'll save my home and family" Gah, just so perfect and makes me want to give them hugs. Great job.
I honestly really do like the concept of the fact that Roman was taken over basically, by deceit, and really pulled very well together. I also like the idea of virgil trying to get him back, because lets face it, without roman, thomas isn't really complete. You're a very talented artist and I hope you keep it up!

When I first found this video, I also loved the song but didn't know what Sander Sides was; because I didn't recognize the cast, this video didn't stand out to me among all the other music videos with this song that had characters I _did_ recognize. Then recently I...I don't remember what I tripped over to find more Sander Sides stuff, but at any rate I did and learned who these guys are and got super attached to them. You put “friend” in quotations and I choose to believe that this is a shipping thing goodnight
i understood this as them being frienamies. They argue a lot and often fight but have something in common that keeps them from tearing each other apart.
For an example:
My friend had a classmate who i didn't really like. We had some common interests but we often fought, yet we did all we could to be nice to each other because we had a mutual friend who we didn't want to hurt.
I like how friend in the discription is in quotations
Why is the only thing I can think of an ending where they fail to stop Roman and get him back to normal and he ends up forcing Patton and Logan to work with him like they did with Thomas, keeping Thomas locked away sort of as a prize for his accomplishment, and forcing Virgil to act as his queen and Virgil ending up with some form of Stockholm Syndrome- (Basically he manipulates Virgil into loving him and believing that ruling with him is what he really wants)
I don't know, I just really like bad endings like that. Maybe I've been reading too much Darkiplier and Antisepticeye fanfiction lol.
