    Great update Johnny.. Yep you said you gotta be patient. As you've seen mine is in full sun and the single 55w copes but I do help the pond with the large brolly to help with the shading.. Will be interesting to see how long the KMA will take to clear in your pond and filter system 🤔🤔..

      Hi Andy (you legend) 👋 I agree mate patience is the key and small tweaks the main thing is the parameters are good except the KH was a little low this morning so working on that. I think you’re so lucky that type of algae you’re getting is not bothering your koi and making your ph sky rocket. When I had my green water problem during it’s first spring it wasn’t as graceful. Every pond is different but what I did was change lots of water, kept adding new filters, and filter out green water with filter floss. I also bought a new UV. But that was the last UV I’ve ever bought. Good luck mate. I’m very interested on whether this new clay will work.

    • @johnnyfied1

      Hi Mate 👋 Cool to hear about your ponding experience, its all a learning curve hey. Yeah PH is bang on about 7.5 and steady. Fish are all super happy. Jeez I popped the clay in and they are like hungry as a hippo its mad mate. Thanks 😁

    More flow the better in a koi pond. Whack it up to 100 if you can afford it. And if you think you've got too much flow going through the UV tap off of the main line put the UV on that loop with a tap on outlet. Not the inlet. Then reduce flow accordingly. 👍

      I'll eventually be doing a massive bio filtration addition on my pond so I can stock more fish. WIll be using oyster shells.
      So far I've only had to deal with algae early on in the first 4-5 weeks, but it has since stayed cleared and i turned off UV.

  • @beedonskoi5101
    @beedonskoi5101 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The pond water is the same as in the jug it's just the amount that makes it look different. The actual filaments you refer to are not the results of the uv as they are a completely different algae. The green water you see isn't being removed by the tempest, it's just passing through, if you could see the outlet of the tempest you would see the same colour water. The single cell algae that a uv make clump together are actually invisible to the naked eye apart from in large numbers which you see as green water. Resolve will treat the filamtentous algae and the uv will treat the green water. 5000 ltrs an hour is a good flow rate on a 5000ltr pond as it will pass the entire pond volume through every hour, so a 10000 ltr pond would need a flow of 10000 ltrs an hour to achieve the same flow rate. Also don't worry about having a pump running 100% as they are "variable". Non variable pumps run at 100 % 24/7. Sorry for long comment😁
