my grandfather (I'm from the Netherlands) was so emotionally destroyed after the war that he helped everywhere he could, he helped in the city i still live in to build it back up, but he also helped in Germany and Belgium. one of my best moments with my grandparents was to be able to drive them to places where my grandfather helped and he actually saw things and buildings he worked on, that was the best moment i had with my grandparents and gave WW2 a whole new meaning for me. he died 2 years ago but I'm so happy i got the opportunity to do that with them

I can't tell if the comment section/video is joking or not... 75 million people died in WW2 for the vanity and pride of one country. Collectively, 9 million Jews, Gypsies, disabled, and black people were murdered for racist ideals. That doesn't include the generations who never lived because of this. Not to mention the decimation of countless cities and homes. The Germans, after all, were the first to bomb civilian-only targets. WW2 ultimately led to our ability to destroy the world 50x over with nuclear weapons. The Cold War and the irony of the USSR and (sorry, folks) millions of deaths in proxy wars from the USA fighting to prove they were the number one superpower... Aka the Cold War. That excludes the Japanese and the literal rape of China and Southeast Asia.
And that was after the Allies won WW2. Imagine the state of the world if they hadn't... The Germans didn't do too badly considering. Billions of dollars and pounds were put into Germany to rebuild from other countries. So, no, nobody who knows anything feels sorry for the Germans and the Nazis, and yes, we celebrate the removal of Nazi swastikas... An official hate symbol 😂😂.

In the movie/documentary "They shall not grow old" about World War I, they took footage from the war, added extra frames by hand, improved the video quality with a variety of modern technologies and coloured everything (digitally) by hand. All the colours had to be researched, and it's an incredible movie. If high quality footage from 1946 amazes you, that movie will amaze you even more.

My great grandfather had to fight in the war even though he didn't wanted it he was forced because he was an orphan. They were in the Balkan and had the task to burn down a village. My great grandfather found a woman with her child and to save her he started a smoldering fire so that this woman could escape. If his superiors had found out, he would have been executed. So many people out there see WW II just from their perspective. But so many forget that many Germans never wanted this. My great grandfather never wanted this. Even I feel guilty even though I belong to the new generation and I'm not directly related to the war. But from my early childhood I was taught about it. People who didn't grew up in Germany can't really understand the feeling of loving and hating a country at the same time.

Did any of the british or american soldiers feel "guilty" when they bombed civilian towns? Bombing civilian towns just "to demoralize" is genocide! They didn´t burn villages but towns with over a million inhabitants to rubble and ashes! The "reeducation" is a continuous process to brainwash the Germans and make them feel guilty. Since almost 80 years until this very day!

Jestem z Polski. Pozdrawiam z Polski❤
