The song Black Sabbath was written when the band was still called Earth. They would put it in their live sets and people were blown away. Anyway after mistakenly being booked at a gig due to there being another band called Earth, a pop band, they changed their name to Black Sabbath after the Boris Karloff movie of the same name. Sabbath's first album was recorded in October 1969 and was released on Friday, February 13th 1970.

The first heavy metal song was actually "Born to be Wild" by Steppenwolf. The lyrics "I like smoke and lightning,
Heavy metal thunder, Racin' with the wind, And the feelin' that I'm under" was the first use of the phrase Heavy Metal in 1968.

The last day at school, the music teacher said to class prior to the day, `as the next lesson is the last can everybody bring in some music {mainly vinyl } so that the class can ear the different tastes of music. I came with a Black Sabbath album and this track was played, the room was silent and the faces where somhig else, there was not much said or any comments made when it had finished. Years later i mean years later i still had previous class mates say to me , what was that music you brought in that day? i will never forget it, better late than never I guess.

I love your reactions! Keep up the good work! If you want a less talked about tune Sabbath song that kicks ass spin "Hand of Doom" I love it! Thank you for a great reaction,if you`re gonna do some more Deep Purple I would suggest you do anything from they`re classic live-album "Made in Japan"(1972), Deep Purple were/are one of the few bands that were actually better live than in the studio, they`re muscicianship on that album will completely blow your mind

Kel, I can see why you feel Rich is so cute lol. This channel was created to introduce you to music you weren't privy to because of your background but to see Rich geek out over a song I learned to play in 1975 was priceless😅. You two were put on this earth to be with each other and I watch every video you produce. The fact that Kel is a classically trained pianist makes it even better because she gets it. Not to be corny, but live long and prosper🖖

Ok so there are some songs that are considered proto metal although the band is not a proto metal band. Lots of arguments but my picks would be Blue Cheer's Summertime Blues, the Beatles' Helter Skelter and Iron Butterfly's In-a-gadda-da-vida. #MetalChickPick

Always loved the distorted organ in this track! And Ian's voice as always is AMAZING. And Rich, I think this song may have been the origin of Maiden's gallop. Purple is sick dude. Always!

Hey there! Great songs and reaction. So many songs from Sabbath and Purple - speaking of evolution, hopefully you get around to Sabbath with Ronnie James Dio - anything from Heaven and Hell or Mob Rules - not a bad song on either album. And later Purple, maybe Perfect Strangers album, Knocking at Your Back Door is a particular favourite but again, no bad songs on that album. Keep on rocking #MetalChickPick
