Great interview that. 'Fans' who moan about the sound of One Second and Host should remember that the band may not even be around if they hadn't experimented with their sound in those days.

One second, Host, believe in nothing and symbol of life are my favorite.

I absolutely love Host. And I love their courage that they put it out without giving a shit about what people expected them at the time. And as Aaron said it's a miserable album but, for me, in the nicest way.

I love “Host” too. More than others. Maybe except ‘Symbol of life’

Aha! But the “Host” is my favorite album. It indicated, that Paradise Lost grew, guys are more rich in styles and experiments. than those fans, who said “booo! They went pop!” and “I hate them, they betrayed their sound”, thought.

in front of my is a ticket for the next Paradise Lost gig in town, bought 4 months in advance :) And really I am looking forward for the Icon's 25 years anniversary, hoping for a nice vinyl reissue of this iconic album :) and Host as well of course, that would be awesome, I am glad you asked that question

Agree with Aaron about Host being their darkest album. Almost all of their albums have a balance between the anger and violence of metal and drearier, more melancholic ruminations. Host pretty much dispensed with the metal and saw the band nurture that other side of them that was always there to the forefront for an entire album. I actually feel like Obsidian is the first time in years that the gloomier side of the band has seen much daylight, the 3 or so albums before it seemed much more focused on the band reclaiming their doom metal roots.
