Amazing singer and actrees. She write lyrics for most of her recent songs.
She debut at the age 15, and she gonna turn 30 this may. She has been a singer for 15 years, so her discography, singing style, skill, tones did evolved multiple times over such a long period. After her initial debut contract that lasts for 7 years, when she sign for her new contract, she got her music production right, and begin to write and produce some of her own songs, and begin her age series from "23"," Palette"(25), "Eight"(28) and next one is supposingly at her age 32 which is mirrored to her beginning of age series 23.
IU does all the backing vocals. 😄 She debuted as a soloist instead of in a girl group because her voice is too unique that it stands out from a group. Her live vocals are better than the recordings which is why it's better to listen to her sing live and her recent 2 day concert The Golden Hour sold out 88k seats within a few minutes with more than 400k still in queue. 💖💖💖

IU is 29 years old now. Beside as a singer she is also an actress and she's really popular in korea whenever she release her song it always no.1 in all korean charts.
Because of IU, I entered the world of K-Pop, and yet I didn't like anyone but IU, she's so different, I fall in love with her as a singer, writer, actress, MC, and even when she does iutv content for her fans, she calls her fans cute nicknames and calls them my friends.

She has numerous plagiarism allegations, but she remains silent without explanation. And her agency blocks videos which raises these issues and deletes comments. Her agency is also under investigation by government agencies for manipulating favorable public opinion. Besides them, she has a lot of problems.

@@eivez yeah i have realise that. But if i don't rebute their claims any people that stumble on these comments would believe these claims and just run with it. People that don't do their own research or are starting to get to know IU would be missunderstand.
Besides, i can't look at this comments thats basically ruining all of IU's hard work. She works hard to be recognise as an artist thats is genuine and transparent with her fans, so seeing people missunderstand he hurts me not only as her fan but also as someone that admires her work ethic that she is known for.

So IU was born in May 1993, she is 29 currently.
She was debute in 2007 at the age 14 as a soloist during the Gen2 era.
Girl Groups were just a beginning thought at the time she was starting. But to debute as a soloist shows how good she was already at the young age of 14. she did not need another member to back her up, she was well rounded already.
and to be able to continue to keep her voice relevant this many years after her debute shows how good she is or how the people love her so. She is known as the National Treasure Of Korea for a reason.
These songs are not sung in whole, just the key parts which they are trying to show off her incredible voice and performance. This show Killing Voice is known for showcasing many incredible singers/groups in this way. it is helpful for those who do not know all the songs an artist has sung, or for a fan to remember these songs sung presently.
IU is recognized as the best artist in Korea. IU has a very good voice and good singing ability. Also, IU's song lyrics are famous for beautiful lyrics like a poem. Please react to more various IU songs (with English lyrics ^^)

As for her nasal sound, it has to do with Korean vocalization itself.Korean vowels and pronunciation are more nasal than English. Since she sings in Korean, I think she is more specialized in these vocalizations than English speakers. Anyway, as a Korean, I enjoyed watching video.

also iu said that she was a little sick during this performance, so this might have also contributed to that more nasal sound. imo if you compare it to her other performances/videos, her voice (even her talking voice) sounds slightly different.

The phrase "we don't own them anything" man's they don't have have to deal with it. Coin is actually about her writing method when it comes to songs IU gets lost in her head when writing she said she may forget to eat or sleep as her only focus is on writing. The phrase "I'm all in" is referring to her state of mind

Something you can notice about the better Korean performers (like IU) is how well they are trained for mic technique. If you watch a bit of this video again, you can notice her getting closer and farther from the mic. She makes these adjustments with a very high level of precision. The result is that her level is very even despite her actual loudness.
