I used a vitamin c serum back in July and ended up with 2 weeks of tiny bumps all over my face. At first I thought it was heat rash but it was so bad. Went to a derm and it turned out that the vitamin c did give me a reaction but the derm recognized more and sent me to see a rheumatologist. After many tests it turned out I have MCTD. Imagine trying skincare only to have a reaction that leads to the discovery of an unrelated autoimmune disease.

Thanks for sharing. The same happened to me. Used vitamin c broke out into a tiny rash accompanied by those painful bumps that then ripen and burst. Sorry for the graphics. I do have PCOS and was told by my dermatologist I'd never be rid of adult acne but only be able to manage it. What is your condition and how are you managing your skincare if you don't mind sharing? Thanks.

@@Ready120100 i have pcos too but my curse from that is hirsutism. Right now my skin is pretty normal. I don't usually react to products so the vitamin c reaction was a first. Up until my late 20s I had oily skin with a lot of blackheads and back-ne. Now I get them less frequently. I did start to use Differin gel mainly for the anti aging benefits and now I use tretinoin cream .025% and any bakuchiol product i have on hand. Right now im using the good molecules bakuchiol oil for dry skin but the smell is disgusting so i would not recommend. Beyond that it's simple cerave face lotion, sunscreen and a consistent routine with it all.

I have gone up now to using my tretinoin at .025 on my hands though. Now I use the retinal on my forehead and throat. About to go up to .05% tretinoin on the rest of my face, and may wind up using the .025% on my forehead and neck, letting the retinal go now that my skin has gotten use to retinoic acid in general. Dr Alexis can you please do a video on the best hylauronic acid brand to use for skin of color. I wish you were in Vegas and love all your videos. Everything you suggest has been improving my skin. Thank you ❤

The only one I have tried is Timeless and it burned my skin so badly! I may give vitamin C another chance with some of these products recommended. My skin has finally calmed down after turning 35. I was dealing with horrible cystic acne up until 3 months ago. Now I just need to get rid of decades worth of hyperpigmentation 😥 Hopefully the Vitamin C will help with that

I have acne prone skin also with occasional cystic acne pimples. The Vitamin C serum by Mad Hippie didn’t irritate my skin. Left a glow to my skin and slowly lightened any old acne marks.
