I am enjoying your videos (I’m a homeschooling mom of 3 girls (7th,5th and 1st) - I am thinking about this type of schedule and this is helpful!

I really like the idea of working so many weeks and then having a week off to get things back in order and to take a break. I think my younger son will enjoy that

We’re excited about that also. I’ll update on how it works for us.

The markers, haha! And her giggles of anticipated victory in the background. Hahaha.

This is how I have set our schedule up for the last 3 years. Those weekly breaks are so needed. We do six weeks on every 7th week off

😆 I was cracking up when I saw that your youngest daughter has switched the marker tops! I recently switched to 6 weeks on, one week off and it's been helpful. I'm looking forward to your update video on how it's going once y'all start it. 🤗

This has been my schedule for the last few years and it works perfectly for us! We stopped math and only had a few days left over and got all the rest done! I was shocked! Which means instead of catching up we can move on and roll into the school smoothly!

Our fall of 2022 was also extremely busy, by the time January came around we were all completely wiped out. I ended up starting to do a 6 weeks on 1 week off schedule. We also had one day/week that my older kids focused on their passion projects. It was so much more enjoyable doing it that way. I was able to use that week off as real project time for me (cleaning was one of those projects!), and my kids were able to use that time to work more on their passion projects as well.
Another thing that I do is have a monthly reset day at the end of each month. I still do school with my youngest first thing in the morning, but my older two (high school) do their own work and we don't do any real discussion time on that day. That helps me get my calendar ready for the next month and review the work that I want to cover.
I haven't sat down yet to plan out all the parts of my year, but that is on my list for either today or tomorrow! I really enjoyed seeing what you do. It is very similar to how I set up our year.

I LOVE this! Sounds like you all have a rhythm that really works well for everyone’s needs and wants. Them being able to explore their passion projects uninterrupted must be something they truly look forward to doing. So great!! ❤️

I have two autistic children (4 and 7) and I really trying to get them on a schedule. It’s been a little hard but I’m glad I found your channel for some direction. Do you know any moms that have autistic children that make videos?

We did 6 weeks on and 1 week off this year and it was WONDERFUL! We did it for EXACTLY the same reasons. However, one of my favorite TH-camr Sabrina @thesimplehappylife does 3 weeks on and 1 week off . We are going to try that out this year.

    • @LifeofTillmans

That is awesome! I’m excited to give this a try. I think the regular breaks will be so refreshing for us.
