This is a fabulous chance to try Affinity, just too late for me as I recently purchased the suite, but did get an awesome deal on it, it’s worth having a look at. There’s a lot more to get you’re head around, but I really like it, especially the designer. Looking forward to the videos George, although I do still love my PSE, think I would use them for different things. So much to learn, and with retirement looming I’m going to have plenty to keep me busy. Thanks for all your hard work George 😊
I have always been impressed by Affinity's programs, they are very good budget replacements for Adobe products. As you say, there is a learning curve if you are used to Adobe since the Layers work differently, but once you get used to that it is pretty straight forward. And to help out I will be adding more Affinity Photo videos to this channel.
Great, I recently upgraded the Universal License, still did not use them much, though. I am looking forward to these beginner tutorials specially aimed for PSE users moving on to Affinity, and perhaps using both. These kind of videos are missing on YT, please, go on!
Thank you George! This is one of the few programs I have not tried yet so I am very interested in learning what this is all about! I had wanted to get DXO back into the workflow but they are like $180 and will probably wait. I like to use the points system it has and their Silver Effects is just spectacular. Getting back on track, I am using gradients in about everything I do now days so if you could put that on the list for your Affinity videos I would appreciate that. I also would like to know what Designer and Publisher do? I am assuming they are similar to the Adobe products????? Again, thank you for all you do! Rich
You're welcome Rich! Doing a video on Gradients is a great idea, I will add that to my list. Designer is like Illustrator and Publisher is like InDesign. Both programs are well worth it.
@@HTGPhoto I love that they work together. I have been fighting to not reup my Microsoft 365 office, this saves me from getting into all that hassle. I have spent about 8 hours in Affinity photo and man this program is full of great tools!!!!! I already love the pen tool and the rubberband pen tool. Lots of much more precise tools to work with color and B&W. Am going to spend some time working simple projects. Thanks again George! I see a lot of Adobe Photoshop people going this way. That terms of service fiasco a month ago set this deal up perfectly timing wise.

Thanks for the heads-up, George. A 6-month free trial: that is, indeed, insane (in a good way)!
You're welcome! I know that a lot of my viewers are interested in Affinity Photo, so this is a perfect chance to give it a try.
Really looking forward to your videos on Affinity. I use both PSE and Affinity.
Thanks! I will be going back and forth between PSE, Affinity Photo, and Lightroom for a while to see how things go.

Thanks! I will be doing that.
