These Mattel toys were so good, I really wish I had brought them when I’ve as younger but I was moving away from action figures as I was around 13, and was more into video games
Another great video. And an Aladdin collection without a lamp accessory and a standard genie is like a Captain Planet collection with only Ma-Ti and a random Duke Nukem. LoL I had some of these and also loved the Cave of Wonders playset. Very fun and had a cool scarab that opens the door.
I was really hurting for Genia back then but I have a great line up now. I couldn't tell researching if that playset was for these or the smaller non-articulated figures. It's great getting out the old figures and putting them with missing figures I always wanted.
I think it's the only Disney animated movie I have a lot of toys of. I have though about getting the Hercules stuff but it wasn't my favorite as much as Aladdin and his cartoon show also. Plus the sequel movies.
Interesting enough, there was a Hercules animated series that had a crossover episode with Aladdin called “Hercules and the Arabian Night” so extending the collection with Hercules toys would make some sense.
I may get a few more bits from this set. Aladdin was the big Disney release of my childhood, and I am very into collecting older figures right now as you can tell by the entire channel here.

I started with the Aladdin figure, but my dog chewed up his legs :P After that I got the pack sets with Aladdin/Genie and Jasmine/Jafar, which I think I got on sale. That genie Jafar figure is amazing, never seen that one (or the sultan) before! Did you ever place Abu on Aladdin's shoulder? I think you could place his left arm around Aladdin, I always did it as a kid :) One I would have liked to get was Aladdin as Prince Ali, with the small Genie figure disguised as a bee.
I have a few move figures I need to do videos about from this. I will keep the Abu post in mind for the next vids I do. I'm loving getting some of these classic 90's figures from other sets also, that's what I do a lot here.
finally got Hades and Jafar from Mattel .. never seen any better version of Both of these Villains .. its so hard to find good action figures of the disney villains
@@MBXfilms Absolutely i just wish some of the old classic villains would have such good figurines ... I mean Ursula or Maleficent .. i dont know any good poseable figurine of those ... Hook has one but the best might be the Posable mc donald figurine
@@felixleidig8307 Yeah if there was no toy lines at the time it didn't get made. 90's knew how to do it. And they didn't do much "retro" toys then. They do now though, so maybe eventually there will be more options.
@@MBXfilms I wish we had Poseable figures for Ursula , Maleficent or Cruella ... in the vain of 90s matel stuff ... 90s Matel they had almost all of the reanisance villains ... Now these days the villains only get these barby puppet versions not interested at all....Imagine Neca making disney villains would be so cool
@@felixleidig8307 Look up the Disney Ultimates line from Super7. They are slow to do characters but eventually they will get to some of the characters you are talking about. But it could be a LONG time...
Aladdin is my favorite Disney show I was 2 years old when it came out. There was no figure of Snake Jafar so I got the Burger King balloon snake jafar.
@@KevinArcade87 Looks like maybe she was only in a two pack with a TV show character? I think it's a bit different than the movie red costume though, it has purple sashes.
The Genie wristcuffs are all gold on the figures. Over time the paint had a reaction and deteriorated and left a green copper corrosion substance. Mattel's Masters of the Universe figures had similar reactions due to age like Roboto's silver legs turning pink. Why some had the deterioration and some don't depends of how it was stored, exposure to the elements. The carded Genie has a better seal. The boxed version is open to let air inside.

Very cool collection, it's fun revisiting old toys!
I figured people would like seeing them while I finished up my collection some. I have more planned here for various toy lines.

I remember the Abu and Iago only came with the 2 figure giftset. I started out with those....the Cave of Wonders playset is a jewel of the colection.

I had the cave of wonders playset but I also remember having a lamp and it was an eight ball type.
That lamp is the same one that is in the background of the whole video.

great to mix and match the different stuff they put out. Happy Meal and such helped fill in some stuff back then.
I think the genie arm bands were painted and have discoloured to the green. Looks like the same thing happened on his earring too
It's funny that it nearly matched his movie look after being free. They used a weird gold for this figure then.
