In the Tuba family, we've had double bell euphoniums for a long time. One bell has a euphonium bell (conical, which is smooth and dark, like a tuba), and a baritone bell (cylindrical, which is bright and piercing, like a trombone), and that has always been an interesting instrument! When I first saw your double bell trumpet, I assumed it was a trumpet and a flugelhorn. That would be a cool option, although, diverting the airflow close to the bell on a short instrument might not have the same effect.
@M Edward Borasky It's been years since I've seen that movie, but would totally believe they have one. The only place I see double bell euphoniums with any regularity is Tuba Christmas.
Hey Sarah, beautiful video. While your b400v looks super cool you should check out Midi Merlin from Randy George. It's got to be the most powerful interface for your trumpet to create relatable MIDI data for this and other projects.
Don Ellis would have been doubly proud of you, for both running your horn through the cool electronics but also for that quarter tone horn! Cool stuff indeed!
This is quite amazing. Super glitchy yet mellow. I would be interested in seeing you use a Boss Sy-300 with the trumpet. It is a guitar pedal, but like all guitar pedals it can be fed a line level audio source as it doesn't use a special guitar pickup. Using that in conjunction with a modular and a CV pedal or two to control a vca to mix between Dry horn, wet horn, and modular could be quite amazing. Awesome video, thank you very much.
Sebastian Toney well I wouldn’t call it Eurorack then, because then your DIT modules would not be compatible with eurorack modules. But yes building your own modules is a good way to get what you want in a modular agreed.
@@TheNormalUniverse Yeah, the whole point of modular is you get to do what you want. Otherwise it isn't modular, despite the format name. The whole point of modular is break out of any perceived limitation put forth my society or culture. The reality is no one should care what it's called, because the sound is the only thing that matters.
@@sebastiantoney3373 I agree with you to an extent, but the most flushed out format with lots of amazing modules is eurorack. So I was just saying that I wished my favorite format had a different cable because the banana plug is easier to patch.
What's your general opinion on modern Buchlas? I've heard a lot of stuff, like they're overpriced compared to euro, some people says the build quality is not very good etc ... They look so cute tho.

Really clever, never seen a double trumpet before, love the way you make it interact in the final section.
Thank you!!
Congratulation, lady Sarah.
I am Felipe from Brazil.
Lord bless you.
really love how this is broken down!! the last few minutes are especially awesome to listen to
Thanks, Sarah, for your inspiring videos!!!

This is super inspiring. I've been wanting to find more ways to merge my oboe playing with my modular and this is giving me so many cool ideas
Thank you!!
Super nice approach to the expanded instrument in an impro situation.

I love the 208c! Its such an amazing instrument!

Cette trompette est géniale. Bravo pour ton travail.
This was pretty great. I haven’t seen a trumpet like that before, either!
Loving this series. FantastiC. Thanks
Quality content to say the least. Thank you for sharing.
That was amazing ! Thanks for sharing the whole process !
My pleasure! Thanks!
Who dares to dislike such an inspirational video? I like the classical vibes of your improvs a lot :)

Excited! I wish Eurorack used banana plugs
They can when you build your own.

@@TheNormalUniverse Understood. Have you tried those stackable 3.5mm jacks? I have no idea how they compare.
Can you recomend any physical analog to midi converter? I will also try the silent brass to change the trumpet sound.
🙀two mics! One on each bell, each going through a different control/audio chain 🙃🙃
Amazing! Do you intend to release a publicly available version of this app?

WOW!!!!! fucking amazing!!!

Always good to throw your trumpet in the digital meat grinder. ha.
The background music was very distracting. It was too good....
