love the review, just found it (9 months later)! i'll be checking out your full review of the mark 3. to convey my choice, yes, the mk3 is my favorite. it is my daily driver for music, movies, and gaming (not fps, rather arpg, more immersive games). i purchased the mk3 at a substantial discount as well - right now, it is my end game. i do not even want to listen to the subtonic storm, as at $5200 usd, it would immediately persuade my wife to divorce me. the storm? maybe in a couple of years, lol.
I love my Monarch MK2. But she is like a rose with thorns. There are 3 thorns that are the main problem for me. 1) Comfort. I can't wear it for more than 1 hour without taking a break or my ears will feel cut. 2) Vocals. The majority of my song playlists are songs with female vocals. Yes they are very melodious, very smooth and immersive. But on the other hand, some singers with distinctive voices like husky voices have slightly lost their characteristics and become a little thin. 3) Upper treble. The treble itself already has a soft presentation. The lack of upper treble makes the presentation a little less loose, less airy. I will never go to Monarch MK3 because he has problems as well as in the first point. That's why now Dunu SA6 MK2 exist in my collection.
@@shaunbrady15 You mean upper-mid? No, not recessed at all. I actually feel the vocals are quite forward. I myself was quite surprised that the sound of the upper mid was very different from that shown in the graph.
@@thomasdanny7717 awesome. Thanks! Ya I don’t usually base off a graph, but it did look recessed. I like a forward vocal, so that’s good to know. How are details compared to monarchs? I know there’s a big price difference
@@shaunbrady15 Well, sometimes we have to try it directly instead of completely trusting the graph. Once again, maybe you won't believe it, but what I feel is that the details on the SA6 MK2 are slightly better than the Monarch MK2. Likewise with staging and 3D imaging, the SA6 MK2 is also better. But for tonal impact and timbre, especially in the mid to low area, the Monarch MK2 is better.
bit of a basshead so glad I went with the MK3, went for a custom faceplate so it just arrived and its fantastic! thanks for this comparison video! subbed!
Thinking about getting these as my first. What type of music do you listen to? I will mainly be listening to Hip-hop/rap and when working out EDM/House Music. Thought on those genres with the MK3?
my mkiii cable connector comes loose very easily. fotunately my dealer is getting a replacement for me. do buy from a good dealer. in terms of size..compare to alot of high eng iem lie qdc, mkiii is smallish. bass is plantify but very distinct and clean. even though it rumbles...its like a well tune/placed sub woofer in a room.
great review. love my mk3 a lot, shame they wont scale with better sources. have u heard the anni 2023? would love to read or see a review by you of anni vs mmk3 :)
I am a fan of a BIT of spice and some nice subbass rumble. I do like my bass songs but i hate it when IEMs and headphones blow out the bass so hard that even Deathcore songs sound bassy and waaaaay too busy. Would the MK3 help me with my occasional basshead needs while still being neutral "enough" for other genres? :D
Nice, the only 1k iem I have is a um mext. I don’t think my ears cradle the shells correctly, sometimes vocals can sound hollow, almost like speaking into a tin can reverb. Spring tips seemed to help a bit. Still sounds goddamn amazing though, just not good for TH-cam videos. I’m guessing this is the obc drivers not making proper contact.
To put in a small summary Monarch mk3 >> More bass, forward presentation, better for vocals Mest Mk2 >> Recessed presentation, wider soundtsage, sharper treble, better imaging and detail presence Hope the above helps

loved mk3, dissapointed with subtonic storm when i tried it, so i wouldnt worry

Are the vocals on the sa6 mk2 recessed? The ear gain on the graph is very low

Same. Im upgrading from a fiio fh7s to the mark 3's.

Man, these are both great looking IEMs, I don't which I would choose, I like the more open MM2, but then the MM3 sounds like a good upgrade too 😅
Choices choices~
Monarch MKII is very good but MKIII takes it up to another level, with no price hike. MKIII easily wins.
Thanks for sharing, it's definitely an upgrade for me, but if you don't like bass then...
@@rnarexperience I love bass. Need rumble and slam. The pillowy bass of the MKII is a no go for me.
Great review. How about Prestige vs Mk 3?
I don't have the Prestige 😅 I hope I'll be able to talk about it someday
Skip Prestige and go for the LTD already.
Awesome review as always. Loves the b roll. 👍
Thanks man
Hi how does the mk3 compare to the margrid xenns up
With yanyin moonlight, which monarch should I switch to? Or consider mest?
Great. The video I need right now. Thanks.
Thanks for watching!
great review.
love my mk3 a lot, shame they wont scale with better sources.
have u heard the anni 2023? would love to read or see a review by you of anni vs mmk3 :)
Try them with tubes. I run my Monarch on the DX320 with Korg NuTubes and it’s miles better than my Dragonfly Cobalt
The anni 2023 is definitely in the bucket list - i want to hear what that sweet treble sounds like
@@rnarexperience Get the Symphonium Titan. It’s gonna break the market for entry level high end.

This is exciting. Yo bro have you got a chance to hear the K bear rose finch.I just got it what ur opinion
Thanks. I like bassy iem so i will buy mk3
It'll suit you better than the mk2 at least
Hack I'm still rocking with my OG Monarch
Own the evolution of the Monarch~
Saving up to get the TA Monarch Mk3, to go alongside my TA Monarch Mk2 & UM Mest Mk2 😅

Hype 10 and Prestige better choices
how do you find the monarch mk 3 vs the mest mk 2?
To put in a small summary
Monarch mk3 >> More bass, forward presentation, better for vocals
Mest Mk2 >> Recessed presentation, wider soundtsage, sharper treble, better imaging and detail presence
Hope the above helps
Do you suggest the Monarch Mk3 over the Shure Se846 gen2?
Haven't heard the 846 so can't comment unfortunately
Have you tried the sony ier z1r? If so, what's your opinion between both?
chance more people like ie900 more, z1r is a monitor
@@iikatinggangsengii2471 Z1r is most definitely not a monitor with that massive base shelf.
Suggest me a great sub and mid bass iem monarch mark 3 or moondrop.variation or xen top under 500-600 doller
Thieaudio Hype 4
I don't understand why people say you can feel the bass with headphones.. you need a big subwoofer/tactile transducer etc to feel bass 😅🤷🏻♂️
because it's possible to feel the sub-bass massaging your ear canals, that's why.
@ArtificialDjDAGX i feel it with my Hype 4 and IER Z1R
By feel we mean we can feel it in our ear, not like in our whole body
i will punch and slam you if you don't tell me what you're listening to to evaluate the bass
