The GMC Safari and Chevy Astro were the only minivans that I thought were actually good looking and not lame. I miss the days of full size RWD conversion vans.
That van is awesome. I can’t wait to see it polished up. That thing is a cruiser. Your wife will never admit it, but she will see how handy that thing is going to be. I would love to have that. That almost deserves the “ Don’t laugh, your daughter may be in here “ sticker. Great find!

Those things are bulletproof. I use to have one we used for my electrical company. It had been jumped, overloaded, sunk, rallied through snow, and my dog once layed on the throttle pedal holding it wide open, to what my neighbor said was 3 minutes who then finally shut it off haha. We gifted it to a new employee and embarrassed him by dumping seafoam down the TB and let him take it home, I’ve never seen so much smoke😂. So many good memories.

My first vehicle ever was a 1988 GMC Safari and my second was a 1989. They are definitely the coolest looking mini vans ever and the V6 spins those tires especially when the back seats are out.

I was highly against this project until I saw how nice it actually….plus OG Billets!!!!
Gotta pull the running boards and chrome panels , lower it and polish up those wheels! Just the way I used to see them in the 90’s working at a Chevy dealer.

Get you some 17's (maybe 18's) cut in that same style. Chrome delete. Simple sound system. Lower it and call it done! The AR is American Racing.

Astros are great for hauling and family trucksters. I have had a couple over the years can get decent gas mileage out of them too.

Dually plates are expired! Dig the Safari, but i fear you're going to grow to hate it. They're a pain to work on.

One of my obs trucks had a parasitic draw that we had a time finding ended up being the ac controller on the dash. It wasnt completely powering down.

Astro's have always been cool... Esp. when u do a little something to them... That one just needs to be degramma'd... lol (pinstripes, lower chrome and those running boards) I de grampa'd my '93 OBS when i first got it had those same style running boards makes a big different.. If your gonna stick with those wheels i think i'd at least turn the white letters to the inside... But thing would look really cool with some 18's or 20's and lowered... But i know thats prob. not in the 5k budget thing your trying to do... That should def make a nice daily/parts hauler and comfy ride on the Power Tour... Yeah Buddy!!! :)
It definitely needs to be degramm'd lol. For now it's gonna be polished and cleaned up but once I get back from the Power Tour I want to throw a drop kit on it and make it my daily

Unplug the driver seatbelt housing. That is the most usual cause of a small draw.

Those vans towed heavy for their size.
I just looked up the tow rating on this beast and it's 6,000lbs! I was shocked. lol I could tow my c10 with this rig.
