Great video!! The Grym encounter can be won in melee combat, Maul+Multi attack+GWM+Bludgeoning Vulnerability is quite effective. Monks are also rather exceptional in this encounter. The choice between armor and shield is agonizing, but I believe you made the proper choice with the shield (there are far more unique armors than shields). I wholeheartedly agree with your selection of resilent wisdom for the level 6 feat, a wise choice :). By the by, there is a fantastic greatsword in the creche that seems tailor-made for Lae'zel Cheers
@@ssstegel Actually, your suggestion is quite inspired. I have always considered the skin buster halberd a more barbarian oriented weapon, but your combination could make Lae'zel neigh unkillable
Grym healing while lae'zel was invisible isn't "lame", it's user error. you know that creatures who no longer see any enemies end combat and NPCs heal up after combat to avoud cheese. Lae'zel: "if you could solo grym, then why did I have to die?"
Then why didn’t combat end as soon as Lae’zel went invisible and Grym smashed the illusion? The game clearly then tracked invisibility turns then and I feel it should have kept doing that after the mephits / imps were dead. I also hate how enemies heal full straight away. I feel like there should be a longer pause between the end of combat and them healing to full…
And it's a good use of her bonus action since she doesn't have GWM yet. The problem will be that it requires concentration, and so does the sword's Shield of Faith
For lae'zel with heavy armour master and adamantine splint armour, the perfect weapon is the skin buster halberd in the room of the inquisitor war'zarg 😉
Hmm, we’ll have a look at it, but for immersion, I like to use weapons from racial proficiencies, if possible, so mostly swords for Gith. ET is an exception because of tavern brawler… I wish it made any weapon throwable, I think that would have been way cooler… but maybe with a set damage roll like 1-10, so that it’s not too OP
@@immersioneer not every weapon is throwable not just for tavern brawler balance reasons. Throwing a spear, a trident, an axe, a dagger makes sense. throwing a great sword or an halberd makes no sense at all, it's no believable. I would say: immersion reasons. I think you are the best one to understand and agree with this reason 😉
@@immersioneer about the skin buster, I just considerered it would have been cool have until a -9 reduction damage (it makes you almost unkillable) and an area attack when you stack +5 force conduit, but i understand your reasons
I just take the armor and leave without being seen lol. I like to blast spells use different magics. This fight is boring and annoying, so I just avoid it.

@@marcrainbow1714 ouch, yours suggestion for lar'zel weapon is probably better than my suggestion about the skin buster halberd at the creche 🫣

Thanks! Yeah, I’m enjoying the shield a lot, I think it was the right choice!
That's a great shield, definitely not a mistake 😉
Yeah, I’m liking it more and more as we keep using it. I think it was a good choice after all. Just need to find some good medium armor for Tal’quir!
@@immersioneer i don't understand: why medium? As a fighter you are proficient with heavy armour
With Tavern Brawler, you can throw all sorts of stuff down on Grym. The height gives bludgeoning damage, so the heaviest things that you have.
Good point! I should have thought of that!!

@@immersioneer Because the imps were the enemies of grym too. Once he killed the last imp, combat was over for him.
Hunter's Mark is alright for some extra damage :-)

Yeah, it’s a decent boost.

He is worth about 1,000 XP though, which is like 25% of level 5 to 6 progression, so I think it’s almost mandatory to kill him.
@@immersioneer Not really. There's more XP than levels in this game
