The ST literaly transformed my way of riding & living. A whole brand new experience (and landscapes). I just can’t get enough. My life changed and is changing still. And all of this is coming from a…motorcycle. XT-1200es 2019 forever.
I just got mine 2 weeks ago, same year, ES version. I was previously riding a 2001 honda hornet for 4 years doing 40k kms with it. Everything changed. Everything. I have a strong feeling that I made a very solid choice, the ST is a marvelous motorcycle, tremendously underrated. The weight has never been an issue (I'm 6 f 4). I'm so happy.
After 30 years of riding sportbikes I’m about to migrate to adv. I must have watched a thousand videos and I’m choosing the Super Tenere over the Gs, Vstrom, Tiger, and KTM.
@@professorvoluck9311 Fantastic, mate. Welcome to our little heaven on two wheels! Don’t even bother with de the Normal mode: only Sport mode everytime, everywhere, especially on dirt roads. Use different combinations of suspension; you’ll easily find your favorites guns. Now, with my ST, it’s « the more gravel and dirt, the better » which is spectacular for such a big beast. Yamaha all the way!

Man , am dying to see more great collabs like this ! You two have the amazing energy, what about a road trip with Yammie , Spite, Andrew, Whitney? With all their own rides? Would be fun to see that !!!!
29k great miles on my 2013 Super T (as I call her), and it's still the best touring machine I've ever owned (R1150RT, K100RT, R100RT included). What many don't comment about is it's two-up capabilities and comfort, which are top notch. I routinely take her up thru the forest service roads in Boone and Asheville, NC without hesitation or issues. Additionally, I've done 750 mile days from S.C. to N.J. via interstate without needing a masseuse afterward. For the money (purchased new in 2016 for $11.5k) it's by far the best value I've had for a machine that takes wife and I almost anywhere most people can go. Just keep out of the mud, sand and heavy gravel.
I have had many bikes of all genres' and brands over the years and my ST has been one of the most enjoyable. I still have a garage full of all different types including a Goldwing and the TS is the one that gets ridden the most. I don't worry about what turn I take or how the road develops on that bike. If I want to do single track I have a road legal XR400 or a KLR650 for that, although I have seen the youtube videos of guys doing it on a ST with the right tires. Got it for a great end of year price as well.
My first track day was on a Super Tenere "T.S" lol. It will definitely hold it's own in the Twisties. It's more of a touring bike that can do some easy dirt back roads. Excellent bike and definitely underrated because it sits in the shadow of the BMW GS and Triumph Tiger.
Great video guys! I own a T7 and an S10! Get it right!😆 I love them both for different rides! The T7 is my long distance Dirt or Secondary roads! S10 is long distance hwy and Secondary roads! At over 80 plus the S10 get better mileage! I also have a 2021 MT-10!
If the AT was shaft drive I'd be all about it. I hate chain maintenance. First bike I had was a shaft drive, second is chain, and both are great bikes, but I hate chains. I really wish Somebody made a 700-900cc liquid cooled shaft drive ADV bike.
The SUPER T, S10, T12, XT1200, Super Tenere... whatever you wanna call it, is way more capable off-road than people give it credit for. You won't be jumping it through crazy single tracks... but it'll go most places people actually end up riding. I've gone off road quite a bit with mine, and yeah it's heavy, but there's a benefit to its girth - it doesn't lay all the way over like a narrower bike. If it's on its side (with crash bars), it's more at an angle and really isn't that difficult to pick up. The only hard time I've had was in nasty mud. I think it really is the most underrated adv bike out there... but this leads to great prices in the used market ;)
Fantastic video! I've rode both bikes. As I approach 50 years old, my motocross and backcountry adventure days are getting fewer. But I'd still like to cruise down the back roads, gravel roads, dirt roads and the trails on a day I'm feeling it. The Super Tenere er.... TS is going to be my next bike. I can still go camping with it and run those beautiful back roads our country has to offer to get there. Subscribed!
Thanks for the video. You've made me feel much better about my recent purchase of a 2014 TS (Super Tenere). It's sitting at my son's house in Northern California, waiting for me to fly out there in 4 days. I'm going to ride it for the first time with him in Cali for a week before meeting my son in law in Colorado. Then ride with his group for a few days. Finally, I'll ride with them all the way home to Georgia. Should be a great way to bond with the bike.
@@Asdfghjkl1234 The ST was/is amazing! I rode it for 7 hours the first day I kicked it into gear. 15 straight days of riding and over 3800 miles. Not a single issue.
It all depends on how you will use your bike. I’ve ridden both the 700 Tenere and Super Tenere and feel that I like the Super Tenere better for my use. The 700 Tenere is lighter, more agile and manoeuvrable than the Super Tenere , but lacks overtaking power at highway speeds. You are also burdened with frequent drive chain maintenance on the 700, compared to the low maintenance differential of the Super Tenere.
I have shop full of motorcycles from a E900 Ducati Elefant to a Honda XL 125. My daily rides are a 2013 1200 XTZ Super Tenere and an 06 KLR 650 hot rodded up to 685cc's, balanced ported etc... (but carbed) Your assesments are right on the money. I have done long touring on both the S10 and the KLR. But, I have modified my KLR so much it's the most comfortable bike I own, if not running Interstate Highways all day. The Tenere is perfect for running 80+ ish all day. Been across the USA on both several times. TAT, Continental Divide, done the Dragon on both several times too. The Yammy's fuel injection is perfect for altitude adjustments. But that KLR is just a cockroach that just won't die.(150K) Plus, I am not intimidated pulling it's crank out and replacing everything in that engine. (Yeah, been there done that) I have considered getting a Tenere 700 to replace both and have a pretty good compromise of both worlds. But, mine all my bikes are paid for, and don't owe me anything. A 700 cc bike will do ADV cross country touring just fine. But a 1200 cc macine does it so much better. Especially if you are on more roads than off pavement!
It's crazy how in some of the car shots you can literally see the slight wallowing of the tires on the T7 as Yams is cruising down the highway. It shows the importance of the tires you put on your bike based on what you actually plan to do with it.
OC: I think you both won today. Chase had TS for his comfy butt on highway and Yammie had T7 for fun and offroad. So you both had what you wanted :-) To bad you didn't switch bikes on your way back. I'd love to see that :D BTW: What a great green scenary on twisties. Best part of the video ;-)
The stock tires the T7 comes with are pretty good for on road and decent for light off-road. The seat could maybe use an upgrade for long rides and maybe a little more wind protection and cruise control. The TS is a good road bike but a really big bike for off-road unless you are a really good rider that can handle it.
On the highway, bigger is better. That mid weight 700 chinzy windscreen and skinny seat will tax you. The Super T is a great highway bike and any rider throwing down highway miles will gladly sacrifice a few mpg for saddle endurance. Cornering on the ST is FAR better than influencers will lead you to believe. See how low he's getting low in the corners here. If you ride long hardscape to dirt, that bigger windscreen is your friend. Getting beat up by buffeting for hours on end just sucks. The ST will go anywhere BMW goes for a lot less money. ST is shaft drive and can do more dirt than "they" say it will. Won't trade mine for nothing.
entertaining and fun made video, cool shots of you riding together. About the fuel consumption, the TS had big cluncky panniers acting like a parachute ...
The TS is definitely gonna be better for longer trips, off and on road, it's a very sophisticated well built ADV bike. Both the T7 and TS have their use cases but both fantastic motorcycles. As an MT07 owner the T7 is a very enticing platform to own but I would prefer having a separate ultra-light dual sport or offroad bike instead of a T7 (like a 250cc or 450cc single).
Its surely for more offroad ride, cause it bias to that kind of ride and terrain..so of you for more exploring, doing some risking, exploring,;then 7 is the number..
New adventure series: chase, yummi and yami that totally wouldn’t get confusing hahahaah (THANK YOU for the highlight you made my day so much better!!!)
I have wanted a Super Tenere for many years however I bought a 2021 T7 just because of cost and I do Love this bike! Having said that, anyone who has a late model Super Tenere ES and wants the T7 and wants to work out a trade just hit me up via this comment. I just need the Super so I can accommodate the Wife more comfortably.
On fuel cknsumption, if you look at the bike profiles, the "TS" has one additonal thing the T7 doesn't have, the panniers. My contention is this may have a slight effect when factored in..
I test ride a super and it was nice. I was amazed I got 42mpg while riding and the overall mpg was 44. The guide said he had no idea when it was reset. So factoring in lots of people riding it like fools on the test rides it still averaged 44mpg with a 1200cc amazed me.
They are really cool cuz what you cant outrun on the road you can on the dirt and vise versa...someone trys to kill you by running you off the road you just get off the road and look at them ....man that pisses em off
I was surprised on how much the T7 wobble from those camera car shots. Is it just too light for that speed and tires on that road? I was thinking of getting a T7 eventually for touring and light offroad.
I just picked up a t7 a couple weeks back. Got a 250 mile road ride in last weekend. Bike felt super stable up to 90 mph with no weave. This was on stock tires. Riding an 80% off road tire on the highway is gonna make any bike feel like crap. The t7 with stock tires feels every bit as fun on the road as the ninja 650 I switched from. It also kills my old klr 650 off road.
I'd wait, if you want to tour, there are plenty of rumours of there being a facelift for the T7 soon, including a 'touring' version, with a bigger fuel tank, better road tyres, etc
See my philosophy on bikes has become...since most bikes can actually perform most tasks on the road (and you can't actually reach the limits of performance of anything above 650 on the road), if you are actually just going to ride on the road then comfort should be top priority. The T1200 and T700 will pretty much get you to the same places - why not get a used 1200 over a new 700 so you can ride further in more comfort?
Not a criticism, just my personal response. It's horses for courses. If you your highway , especially with pillion, then t12. If you ride twisters and commute where it's legal to split lanes then t7.
Sat on a S10 and was amazed at how big it didn’t actually feel. Got feet down at 5’8 and moved it sided to side easily. Couldn’t believe it, the AT did not feel as approachable. Did not expect it.
I live in eastern N.C. it’s super hot and humid here in the summer. When you guys stopped and talked about the wind screen being a benefit on the highway but a con on other roads I totally know what that’s about. It’s big part of why I prefer naked bikes and Dual sports over other styles of bikes. I rarely touch the interstate and I want to feel the wind.
Default suspension on "off-road" adv bikes is always awful feeling under heavy braking. I rebuilt my AT suspension with touratech extreme cartridges and honestly its a huge difference in corners. (Off-road too)
ADV motorcycles just remind me of rally cars. They can go off road, and drive on road, but does off road better than a sports bike, and does on road better than a dirt bike.
I really wish Yamaha would of put the cp3 motor in the Tenere. I like the nimbleness of the T7, but I want something a little more suited for highway use.
Offroad traction is astounding with the CP2. No one gives a rip about being fastest, it’s about getting there and that’s where the tractor meets dirt counts.
I rip the Super T with tkc80’s. Bike has 29k on her and I couldn’t be happier. As long as you don’t do rides much more challenging than hard fire roads, this is my favorite bike I have owned. For reference I have owned 1200gs, 1200gsa, 800gs, Husky 501,
@@Dirtpoorhomesteader I am now on the new 1250 GSA and I will say that I like it better. I was just getting a little concerned with the mileage on the super T even though it was functioning perfectly fine. I had an offer and I took it.
@@HowToGetMoreMetal I hear ya. The GS is one of those bikes I want to ride just for the experience the bike offers. It’s just sublime. Other bikes that lack performance are merely to take me on a adventure. The gs is both. 3rd gear on a gravel road and whacking that throttle makes me giddy without fail.
The Super Ten was on my short list. Ended up with a Tiger 900 GT Pro just mainly due to weight, fuel mileage and I got a good deal. Plus none of the local Yamaha dealers ever have these in stock, even back when they had stock. They can't keep any bikes around for a day they are sold immediately. Its crazy.
Crazy. I was thinking about Yamaha Teneres and typed it in to TH-cam. I’m watching this video and everything looks familiar. Y’all were heading to my hometown and area. Crazy
I have a T7 and S10 (TS!). Both fantastic adventure bikes. Both of mine are fitted with Mitas EO7 Dakar's, again great tyres for road and off road. The T7 spends more time off road, but the S10 is perfect for 2 up touring in the UK and Europe 👍
@@johngoffinett7808 they are fantastic. On both bikes. And at just over £150 a pair offer great value. The reviews say they are good for high mileages. I've only done around 1000 miles on each bike and they're not really showing wear. Recommended! 👍
It's always fun watching my own stomping grounds in a video. I thought for sure you guys would be taking some of the multitude of Forest Service roads in N. Georgia. One of the cool things is how many good dirt/gravel decent roads there are connecting all the wonderful twisty blacktop in NGA.
Completely different in so many ways. Engine config, handling characteristics, size, purpose. One is a light, nimble sport tourer and the other is a big adv. hope this helps!
For my riding the SuperTen (TS) is perfect. It handles curvy mountain roads in California, fast enough for me. It's super on goaty, one lane, tight, twisty roads with steep hairpins. The T mode is best for wash boarded dirt roads and heavy city traffic. otherwise S mode always. It's super well balanced filtering through city and freeway traffic jams. I've got the Dunlop Trailmax Mission tires--more confidence on dirt roads and sticks to pavement really well too, once the front tire is broken in a bit.
Have a 2019 super ten would love a t7 but I don't know if I could get rid of the super ten for the less horses of the 700.I need both but couldn't afford both.
stand on my super ten, or TS to Chase through the twisties thats the fun part. Winglets are removable on during winter/cool months off during the heat to get some air in.
I love the T7 , My son let’s me ride his now and then. I would buy one if and when they decide to ship more to Atlanta area. Great choice of mountain roads, I ride Richard Russel Parkway all the time.
Great video! I do wish you'd traded bikes for a bit. I've owned my "TS" XTZ1200ES for 5 weeks and 3,000 miles. I like it much, great bike for a big, tall rider (6'4", 250#) after a few mods. T7 would be great if I had dirt to ride nearby.
I was so confused bcus i thought i clicked on a yammie video, then i see chase, but then he says im here with yammie so i was even more confused. But im happy this was a thing
I would like several bikes. The T7 would be great if i was planning dirt, the "TS" would be better for the journey you did, though the shaft drive would be better for real adventuring. Personally I would go for a Versys, Tiger or BMW as an ADV as I think they split the difference better.

I test ride a super and it was nice. I was amazed I got 42mpg while riding and the overall mpg was 44. The guide said he had no idea when it was reset. So factoring in lots of people riding it like fools on the test rides it still averaged 44mpg with a 1200cc amazed me.
I average 47-48 riding like a pissed off teenager lol
These ADV bikes look interesting. I ride dirt and street separately so an ADV bike is in my future at some point. Thanks for the reviews.
Dirt tires weave a little. Tall front ended bikes weave a little. It’s just the nature of it
I just picked up a t7 a couple weeks back.
@@sintjinansley6107 Nice interesting, I was also considering a Tracer 9 GT but it strictly touring.
That Taycan staring in the back 4:41
See my philosophy on bikes has become...since most bikes can actually perform most tasks on the road (and you can't actually reach the limits of performance of anything above 650 on the road), if you are actually just going to ride on the road then comfort should be top priority.
I can’t believe Yamaha dropped the Super Tenere, I hope they are working on a new version
Good to see the Super Tenere back in the screen !
Outstanding, I’d prefer the T7 anyday though 😏
Loved your ride, thanks for taking us along
Also a Tracer 900GT, for perfect touring .
That MT-09 engine is so cool on the Tracer 900GT
Default suspension on "off-road" adv bikes is always awful feeling under heavy braking.
I rebuilt my AT suspension with touratech extreme cartridges and honestly its a huge difference in corners. (Off-road too)
The gas mileage might have been better compared if you had taken the air brakes off. Those panniers add to fuel consumption, especially at hwy speeds.
ADV motorcycles just remind me of rally cars. They can go off road, and drive on road, but does off road better than a sports bike, and does on road better than a dirt bike.
@SportSchütze BösingenLaupen Thanks
SUV's of the bike world. These two are like a 4runner vs a Suburban. :)
@@jeffloucks2120 OR the 4Runner vs the Sequoia
What kind camera did u use on 3rd bike a front of you guys?
I really wish Yamaha would of put the cp3 motor in the Tenere. I like the nimbleness of the T7, but I want something a little more suited for highway use.
Before they revealed the t7 I was hoping the same thing, but the cp2 is just a better suited motor for the type of bike it is
Offroad traction is astounding with the CP2.
For reference I have owned 1200gs, 1200gsa, 800gs, Husky 501,
I find your comment very thought provoking. Current bike is a gsa 2018 and I love it but I am very interested in adding the S10 to the stable.
Chase and Yammie. When two great things come together. Like a Reese's peanut butter cup.
Its crazy.
TS??? why you didnt call it T12?? I have this bike and it is perfect, little bit heavy but for long distance journey is perfect.
I’d have to go for the shaft drive and better highway manners if the super ten
If only the T7 had a shaft drive,
really enjoyed this one guys, lots of fun.
Crazy. I was thinking about Yamaha Teneres and typed it in to TH-cam. I’m watching this video and everything looks familiar. Y’all were heading to my hometown and area. Crazy
To live with daily, the Tenere 700 all day long. Great commuter, adventure, and touring.
How have you liked the Mitas tyres on the S10?
@@johngoffinett7808 they are fantastic. On both bikes. And at just over £150 a pair offer great value. The reviews say they are good for high mileages. I've only done around 1000 miles on each bike and they're not really showing wear. Recommended! 👍
Yamaha Fanboys..
Great to see u both together.❤️❤️
It's always fun watching my own stomping grounds in a video. I thought for sure you guys would be taking some of the multitude of Forest Service roads in N. Georgia. One of the cool things is how many good dirt/gravel decent roads there are connecting all the wonderful twisty blacktop in NGA.
when exactly you brought these bikes to the mountains casue i didn't see any :) (mountains) Boring crowded roads...
What is the difference between the TS and the Tracer 900 GT? They almost seem like the same bike!
Completely different in so many ways. Engine config, handling characteristics, size, purpose. One is a light, nimble sport tourer and the other is a big adv. hope this helps!
0:53 name of sound track please
Very entertaining having you guys together. Good work!
talk about top notch video production.
Bro how is the super tenure different from BMW gsa???
What do you use for recording audio on your videos?
It is crystal clear
I doubt that anyone is worried about mileage from a cost prospective. It may be of consequence when touring or going off road.
OC: TS for that specific ride, but I would prefer the T7 as my own personal bike
man ! ten 700 looks like a beast lovely musculer stance it has it looks like it gonna go for dakar rally just around the cornor
That Tenere is a really nice bike I gotta say. I love it, in fact! I also love the double, circular light action up front.
OC - TS won all the comfort this round; I'd still wanna play with the T7 with different rubber and seat for my riding. That suspension could be fun.
Still wondering why they didnt take de side bags.
What is the helmet that the Super T guy was wearing?
They are called S10 and S7. Or St.
I love y’all’s chemistry, I wasn’t sure how y’all would mesh at first but I’m now a fan and we need more chase and yami dual vlogs
Plus I’ve been a fan of both channels for a very long time, I’m glad to see y’all working together
What make of windshield is on the Super Tenere?
but does it achieve dank nooners?
When did the Super Tenere come out?
Mine in particular is a 2015, the current Gen came out in 2014.
@@ThePattyRick still made today ?
2012, and they made minor changes a few times.
@@Fee.1 yep still in production!
@@ThePattyRick weird never heard of it
TS all the way. It's gonna be a future classic like my ATAS.
Have a 2019 super ten would love a t7 but I don't know if I could get rid of the super ten for the less horses of the 700.I need both but couldn't afford both.
Great job both!
Both bikes look amazing. I wish I can have both because I am not sure what mood I will be in the future. More off road? T7. More on road? TS (lol).
What windscreen was on the tank super t ?
stand on my super ten, or TS to Chase through the twisties thats the fun part. Winglets are removable on during winter/cool months off during the heat to get some air in.
Is this a US only bike? (The TS)
I love the T7 , My son let’s me ride his now and then. I would buy one if and when they decide to ship more to Atlanta area. Great choice of mountain roads, I ride Richard Russel Parkway all the time.
What windshield is on the Super T? Doesn't look stock. How tall are you?
Great video! I do wish you'd traded bikes for a bit.
I've owned my "TS" XTZ1200ES for 5 weeks and 3,000 miles. I like it much, great bike for a big, tall rider (6'4", 250#) after a few mods. T7 would be great if I had dirt to ride nearby.
Agreed. Trading bikes would have been a good idea.
just looking at the bike actually swayed my thought on the bike type I want
Let's go back to Chase counting to 27. That WAS quality entertainment 👍😎
Súper Tenere for the win!! Disclaimer I own ac 2016 ST did 40k miles and love it.
Please tell me what are the brand name of the Super Tenere side trunks
Those look like "Givi Dolomiti" to me
I was so confused bcus i thought i clicked on a yammie video, then i see chase, but then he says im here with yammie so i was even more confused. But im happy this was a thing
I’ve had one of each and it’s the T7 over the “S10” every day!
No off-road component?
I'll take the S10 by virtue of its shaft drive alone.
I test rode both along with the old AT and ended up buying the V-Strom 1000 😎
I would like several bikes. The T7 would be great if i was planning dirt, the "TS" would be better for the journey you did, though the shaft drive would be better for real adventuring. Personally I would go for a Versys, Tiger or BMW as an ADV as I think they split the difference better.
Why wouldn't you guys have switched bikes half way thru so you could both compare???
hello, can't there be Czech subtitles? Thank you
Basically it says :
Super Tenere for highway. Comfortably. Blocks wind.
700 for trails. Too light for highway. Not as comfortable.
Great review, looking to get an ST…er…S10…er…..Super Tenere soon.
Love the T7 but being a tall biker (6’4”) need a bike with plenteeee of room. Know the bikes are playing a different game to each other but good to see a vid comparing both.
Keep up the great reviews👍🚀
