I think some people in the comments might have explained this already, but if I'm not mistaken, Bendy's gloves were changed because the three lines resembled Mickey Mouse's gloves, I guess they were being careful with the character design because we know how merciless Disney can be with their IPs
I've heard that theory, but I don't think lines on gloves can be copyright protected haha

But I do agree, it's a bit hard to believe, my personal belief is that they did thought it was similar to Mickey Mouse's gloves and decided to make it more unique, I don't really recall any cartoon characters with the same gloves, so I guess it did work?

1:53 The reason why Bendy’s current design only has a glove on one hand is because of his backstory.
When he fought with Buddy Luique, Buddy chopped one of Bendy’s hands off with an axe and as a result of Bendy retreating into the ink, the ink healed his hand but gave it a more cartoonish gloved appearance. Bendy used to have two human-like hands but the ink reanimated one of them and it now has that classic cartoon glove.

At 35:43 the calendar is dated 1963 and Dianas birthday was in 1991. A gregorian calendar can be reused every 28 years, and 1991-1963=28 so it could just be reusing old calendars

@@PhantomOfficial07 You can't necessarily copyright a glove. But an indie game studio wouldn't necessarily be able to survive if Disney came after them. And, independent of that, perhaps the creators themselves realized it's too much like Mickey and wanted Bendy to be their own character.
@Curiosity Disney has single-handedly extended copyright law every time the copyright on Mickey Mouse nears its expiration. And then there’s the way Disney acted towards fan material when they were acquiring Star Wars…some stories I remember hearing of which could put Anne Rice to shame.
So at least Bendy’s creative team would be justified to fear Disney coming after them for three lines.
Or maybe they just wanted to change the design for a completely unrelated reason…idk.

SIX YEARS?!? all the games ive loved are getting older and older, thats really crazy to think that bendy is like 6 years old and others are even older
30:58 I think what happened is that the game is set to force you to not move, no matter how glitchy said movement is, The death is probably the game being confused on your velocity from how many times you tried to move, And then the game corrected itself when you died, and then moved you backwards the amount you needed, therefore causing that warp backwards effect.
1:54 In the Dreams Come To Life novel his hand was chopped off by Dot. But his left arm originally looked like his right. Once he drowned in a pool of ink, he was reanimated with newly refined ink that made the characters match their cartoon counterparts much closer. This explains why his right arm is gloved.

@@TetraBitGaming and exposed for abusing their employees, mishandling the company and their games (essentially setting up their other games, such as showdown bandit and Boris and the dark survival, to fail) screwing over fans, stealing fanart to use as official merch without a single dime going back to the original artists, etc. multiple creators have made videos about it at this point.

4:33 if I remember correctly, Disney threatened to sue TheMeatly for the 3 lines on Bendy's gloves because they heavily resembled Mickey Mouse's gloves, so they made it 2 ovals instead

I love what the game started as. Devil worship etc, I wish we got the early beta version as the final.
yeah, imo the original more emptier and less colorful approach to the game. It makes it feel like a soulless place, which imo makes it feel creepier. Devil worship is also creepier then bendy, it would be cool if they went with the more masonic look.

Fun fact: Bendy's little screech was reused for a easter egg jumpscare in Bendy and the Dark Revival when you stare at the mirror for too long.
The "a heart" might be a reference to Joey Drew's last words "just a pencil and a dream isn't enough, you also need a heart"

Some things you didn't mention
-the ceiling texture of chapter 1 was changed so it isn't a copy of the floor
-The 3 wheels spinning on the wall is now a copy of the Studio Logo and it plays music instead of "mechanical wheel noises"
When I hear something about bendy my mind goes: "I'm outta here" and "I'm getting the hell out of here"

The wandering sin really creeps me out, just looking at it makes me extremely uncomfortable. Really good job to the creator preventing snooping of places as i would prefer to avoid looking for this. Otherwise, of all the characters, I like Bendy the most.
I think the "Me! Bendy?" note is probably a reference to the Joey Drew is Ink Bendy theory that was quite popular among the fanbase before Chapter 5

40:50 I think its just a way of the developers to put a little easter egg, such as the butcher gang members names. At least that would explain the chapter 3 thing.
Great vid! Also hey, that circle texture paired with the desk was almost certainly meant to be an animation table’s disc, which is a semi-opaque piece that slots into the desk where you animate so you can use the light table portion of the animation desk. This is for tracking your previous drawings while animating like onion skinning in modern animation programs.
They probably removed it because it created too much of a cluttered area on the desk with the drawing meant to be held in place on top of it. At any rate, I’d bet my bottom dollar on that was meant to be a light table disc… sadly the poor animator who worked here had to do so with only flipping their drawings instead of any light table reference to check with.
thats neat, my first thought was it might have been the seat part of the stool, but i imagine something like that would have been a separate texture and also have chair legs to go with it
I think Bendy started strong with the first two chapters, but fell hard and became way too convoluted as it went on. It seems like the efforts to make the game more "mysterious" worked to the end product's detriment. It certainly isn't terrible, but it has a lot of wasted potential.
And I'm not coming from a place of hate at all. This game is special to me for a lot of reasons. I just wish it came out better and they stuck to a more simplistic plot.
Simplicity, however would not give the game longevity. If you're forced to figure stuff out, it leads you to return to the game for details.
I'm glad the new bendy game was way more clear on what's going on while also giving loose ends to tie up. The first one had cool lore with a really underwhelming story while this new game has an awesome story with some interesting lore stuff in the background which I think is a good tradeoff
i think i heard that they had just come up with most of the plot as they went, and used fan theories to cover anything they couldnt think of. however, i dont remember where i heard this, and i have no idea of its true, so take that with as many grains of salt as you can possibly manage

I head-canon the first beta of batim was the first time Henry went to the studio and stuff has changed over time due to the loop
It would make sense why he stopped saying “I need to get out of here.” Although, I would imagine him honestly being more mute. Like, him asking what Joey is doing, etc. It shouldn't faze him. Yet, he still asks.

I think the ink machine hidden in Chapter 3 was supposed to be the prototype Thomas Connor made for Joey before the final product went into production.

If you do specific stuff in the 5 chapters then you can go through the trapdoor in the break room and play a black and white version of the game.
You have to do all secrets in the game without dying and when you go in the break room and down the trapdoor you go into an inky tunnel like where you go when you die in the game

Its honestly weird how the platform Bendy walks on to scare you in chapter 5 is covered in darkness so you never see it, because seeing him is honestly so much more scary than just his inky stuff, its like last second they decide to hide it? It looks so cool without the dark

19:45 I was a fan of TZ at the time, that video was not the first time it occurred, and started several injokes with his fans, most notably “MIIIKKKEEE” as a reference to TZ reporting bugs to Mike Mood. The way you did the bug was
1) Get the Tommy gun
2) Kill the projectionist
3) go upstairs and die to Bendy
4) go back downstairs.

Havnt played it, but I was obsessed with it back in 2017! Watch all the play throughs, theories, and especially the fan music!! I still get recording town stuck in my head to this day!! What a trip down memory lane!!
I kinda miss the “IM GETTING THE HELL OUTTA HERE!” line from Henry I also miss “Oh boris...are you ok?...” when boris saw his dead clone in chapter 3... I guess you could call me a Boomer XD man i feel old...
the unused clip of "joey?" was used before when the ink demon kill the projectionist but later removed as of the idea that joey would appear in chapter 5s end was developed (only out for less than 1 week)

With how beautiful the new game looks, and how it revamped pretty much everything, I really hope the devs come back and either update this game or remake it entirely.
40:24 Now you're not gonna fricken' believe this but this does actually tie very closely to the current lore of bendy, now before I start I'll mention that as video game theorist ethics go it's pretty much the golden rule that cut content cant contain canon, but anyway,
The core current consensus of the bendy lore is that basically the entire game isn't real, It's a sort of decaying but undying purgatory between life and death called the cycle vaguely resembling companies like heavenly toys, gent, and of course joey drew studios, and all the employees' souls are trapped in there, worst of all as the name implies the cycle is on an infinite time loop, every time Henry plays the last real its back to joeys apartment and back to the opening hallway, the secret golden messages are from Henry himself carrying information between loops to find a way out, no one can even die, Henry himself respawns without the game coming back in time and characters like Sammy Lawrence and the Projectionist are able to come back after dying, just an endless yellow series of hallways and torment (man bendy really walked so backrooms could run)
Back on topic, since joey's apartment is the only area that doesn't look like it was made on a sketchpad and he has a mini ink machine in his house as seen in the post credit scene lots of people think joey himself crafted the cycle, lured everyone back with letters like henry and dumped them in the ink hell god knows how long ago, and this is either to get back at everyone for his company failing because joey is a dick or slightly more nobly it's to keep all the ink/human experiments sealed away in one place forever particularly the ink demon,
if in 414 years kindly beast gets their shit together and makes dark revival it will more than likely be the story of new main character Audrey finding a way to break the cycle and set everyone free
so joey being treated as a godlike entity by a scraped fast food back ties very closely to the actual lore, although it can't be counted as canon because it was removed

Oh my god I have a theory…
After a young Henry Stein died, his wife sued the studio, causing them to go into bankruptcy. Joey blamed all of this on Henry, so he used his dead body to create a version of him to torture in the ink world.
And that’s my theory for Joey’s reasoning.
Oh and also, it’s been 30 years since the loop started.
In bendy and the dark revive for a little bit you can see not Tom Boris but normal Boris going through the vents with the same flashlight

Developers went into debt hell because of their other game showtime bandit, this game had lots and lots of merch being made by Phatmojo but the game didn't end up being good and Phatmojo sued JDS and now we're here.

i used to love these videos for some reason, i was never even really into bendy. but seeing this made me happy.
i actually never was allowed to watch bendy so when everybody played chapter 5 i still thought there were only 2 chapters
38:30 This texture is referencing the BATIM mobile game, *Bendy in Nightmare Run*! The player would play as Bendy (and unlock Alice and Boris along the way) and face 4 bosses, which perfectly fit the descriptions in the paper texture.
Also, in chapter 5, we can find an ink-covered model of Chester, the first of the Bendy Run bosses, right outside the giant ink machine before the Beast Bendy boss fight.
On a more sad note though, Bendy in Nightmare Run was demonetized when Joey Drew Studios was sued by Phatmojo, a company business partner, and the game was forced to be taken down. Another company who helped develop the game, Karman Interactive, went bankrupt, and furthermore, out of business.
I’m a huge nerd for this silly mobile game, and I used to love playing it all the time on my old iPad, which still has the game to this day! Bendy in Nightmare Run was a fun game that shouldn’t be left forgotten, and hopefully, the info I provided was interesting and helpful! :D

I don't really know if you mentioned this but another change in chapter one (maybe two and three as well but I'm not sure) is the color of the studio. If my memory is correct, before it used to be black and white and now it's more of a yellow color.

I did it one time.
You have to start chapter 3, not die, morph that ink thing 3 times so it looks like the ink machine, then complete all tasks. Take it slow because if you die you restart.

I've never played the game but I can say with sheer certainty any game would only be improved by the inclusion of those temp_loss & temp_win audios
